I've been neglecting my two target languages and thought this would be a quick helpful review/workbook, since it's starting at A1. This wouldn't be able to be used without already having an understanding of basic German, but since it's a practice book I guess that's to be expected.
Each section has a very short reading passage consisting of a few sentences. These sentences are broken up so they are not in paragraph form, but more of a list instead, to make answering the questions easier, which I think actually detracts from the usefulness of the book. One question corresponds to one sentence and I believe most are in the same order as the passage. No English translations or descriptions/tips are given.
I did like that the questions are repeated with the answer key, so if you were a true beginner using the ebook, you wouldn't have to flip back and forth to remind yourself what the question was and if you were right or not. It was nice as a second read through of questions and answers for formating dialogue.
I also don't feel like this covered all of the A1 topics that one would need experience with to pass that exam, not that the author stated that as the purpose of this practice book, but being more comprehensive would have been nice.
I will continue with the next book in the series, A2, mainly because they are free when you have Amazon Unlimited and German language content at lower A1/A2 levels that isn't meant exclusively for kids is harder to find.
