Dragons don’t reproduce anymore so why so I need to settle down with just one?
Who says I need to settle down and find my one true mate. I doubt if she even exists.
But I can’t help but feel like there could be something more.
Maybe out in that human world we have been cut off from.
Maybe my perfect mate is out there?
One thing is for sure, I’m bored with all the female playthings I can find here.
If anything, sneaking into the human world will give me a chance to try something new.
I wonder what it will be like touching a human for the first time.
I wonder if I can make them moan just as loud.

Nineteen years earlier at her father’s dig site, four-year-old Rachel was playing with the floating dust motes, watching them whirl around like dirt devils, her own “snow”. And around her, on the cave’s high ceiling, she looked at the four majestically sculpted dragons carved there – and she felt safe. Rachel’s father, a paleontologist but also a dragon hunter, was calling out to her to find out where she had wandered off. He squeezed through the tight cavern walls and was about to sternly reprimand her when his jaw dropped in surprise at the carvings!
Now Rachel Kirk, an exhausted pre-med student, and her study partner, Edmund, woke up in the library, realizing they both had been asleep for the past 3 hours! Edmund was returning home for a couple hours of sleep before the exam, but Rachel chose to remain and continue studying – after a quick trip to the coffee machine! She loved the quiet of the library at night, and her thoughts drifted to that first Dragon’s Den – the one she had discovered that day with her dad. They had found others over the world, but this one was hers. But he had been secretive about the locations, even with her, and she now had no idea how to find it again. She nodded off again and started to dream of dragons – but strong arms reached for her instead and his hot breath ignited something inside of her, as she jerked awake!
Valonis, the royal son of Earl Vilhelm Drekares, was stretched out across the bed, partially shifted and partially human. When he asked his female dragon partner about humans, she got angry at his interest in them. His father was pressuring him to marry, but he refused a loveless marriage. The dragon females could no longer give them children, so he saw no point. He would marry only if he fell in love. He went out on the stone balcony with charcoal and a pad and, with eyes closed, sketched the images that were in his mind – until his father came to talk to him.
Earl Vilhelm told Valonis that something had happened, that the portals were allowing passage to others now and a human had entered their realm. A dragon, Falon, fell in love and the human became pregnant, giving the dragons hope of saving their dying species. But his father talked of kidnapping humans to breed, as if they were animals. That was distasteful to Valonis. He would have to go visit his friend, Falon, and see for himself what was going on. And seeing how happy Falon was, he went directly to a portal to evaluate the situation with the humans for himself.
Valonis walked out of an alley and down the street, noting that just about everyone was either drunk or smelled of a chemical. Then he suddenly scented something familiar that drew him forward. Rachel’s roommate had pressured her into going out with her and they ran into a drunk Edmund. Rachel shoved him away and left, shivering in the cold outside and waiting for a taxi to get out of there. She fell and skinned her knee, but a strong pair of arms lifted her and she stared at the gorgeous man who held her. She thought she saw blue and green scales on his face, but the bad lighting probably caused that. The scent of him captivated her. And the scent of her blood called to him in the “ancient way”.
This was a wonderful book that I recommend wholeheartedly. The story line was good, paced well and keeping the reader’s interest in how things were going to go. Were the two main characters fated to be together? Would Rachel walk away from her dreams of being a doctor to risk it all on a stranger? Or was this fateful meeting the possible salvation of the dragons? Don’t miss the twists and turns ahead! There is so much more going on!
This is a different type of paranormal story. It is full of deep emotion, love and danger. Valonis is the son of the Earl Vilhelm Drekares of the dragon world and is the next Earl. He is a playboy and has come to a point where nothing truly satisfied him. He lives on a different plane than humans and they did not mix. It wasn't until a human woman passed through the portal and his closest friend Falon sensed she was his mate. This caused an uproar in the kingdom. Falon was steadfast that he would not leave his mate, Alexandra's side for fear of those who opposed their union. This got Valonis thinking that maybe he could have some fun in the human world and dispel this boredom he felt. When in the human realm he was not attracted to the many women who tried to entice him. His sense of smell was heightened and the human women did not smell well. When "he caught the smell of something delicious. It was hot and wild, yet familiar." He was automatically aroused and had a feeling of possession, of domination. He followed his nose and it brought him to Rachel. She was leaving a house party and she was wasted. When coming upon Valonis she felt some fear, arousal but also excitement. Feeling she had never had before. She was also attracted to his scent. "It was strong and feral." Valonis's need to protect her caused him to take Rachel to the realm of the dragons. On her way she became sleepy and passed out. This was the beginning of the trials and adversities. Valonis gave Rachel minimum information of her situation. But he promised her that he would always protect her. She began to accept her new reality. She shared with Valonis growing up with her father Walter Kirk. He studied for his whole life about the ancient existence of dragon shifters. Valonis was fascinated and asked her to share and explain all his research. In the meantime there was trouble brewing in the kingdom. The Earl and his loyal council was planning on abducting human females and selling them. He wanted to start with Rachel. OMG the book gets more interesting here on out. It covers the fear and emotions of Rachel and Valonis. His fight to try to save her from slavery. Their one beautiful night together. The ritual they performed and the consequences of it. The distain Vilhelm has for Rachel caused her to rise above it no matter what was in store for her. This story just keeps getting better and better. This is a must read. You will not be disappointed. Page after page, it kept me glued to the book. This truly is a fascinating, exciting, read full of different plots, twists and turns throughout. I loved it. I highly recommend it. Valonis, a young (for dragons) privileged royal who will one day inherit a dukedom. Rachel, whose single father is an archaeologist, started going to sites with him when she was four. She inadvertently crawled into a cave with carvings of dragons – very well done carvings. After her father craws through the small opening to get his daughter she points to the carvings. Her fathers has spent his live trying to prove that dragons were real (or once were). The story jumps nineteen years ahead and it is during this time that Valonis and Rachel meet. The dragons are on the brink of extension; no babies born in centuries. But, there is an exception to this and it involved a friend of Valonis that found a human woman who accidentally entered their realm. Valonis has tired of the female dragons he has been sleeping with (several – the hound-dog) as well as his father's constant push to get married. He decides to visit the human realm to see if he can learn what the difference is between human women and their dragon counterpart. Needless to say this is when Valonis and Rachel meet. This is just the beginning – tune in for the adventures, challenges, love, and some answers.
This is a wonderful, intriguing dragon shifter romance and I really enjoyed reading it. This book is about: a royal dragon shifter (Valonis) who is tired of fawning female dragons and decides to go through a portal to the human world. He discovers a feisty human female (Rachel) and promptly abducts her to his world but there will be trials & tribulations before they get their HEA. What you will find in this book is: dragons shifters, human females, portals, a devious father, drama, intrigue, some suspense, some twists & turns, politics, abduction, fear, rage, attractions, blackmail, conflict, rituals, claimed, protected, a union, threats, verbal confrontation, dreams, apologies, a son, forgiveness, happiness, passion, lust, love & steamy scenes. The characters are well developed with individual personalities and react with varying emotions according to the situations they find themselves in. The story-line and plot is well-thought out and written, it keeps the reader’s attention. I look forward to reading more books written by this talented author. “I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.”
Loved this dragon shifter book. While visiting in the human realm, Valonis saves Rachel and returns home with her, where he later realizes she is his soul mate. Dragons have been unable to reproduce for so long that their race is slowly dying out but there is an unexpected pregnancy between a dragon shifter, Falon, and a human female, Alexandra. Learning of this development, Valonis’ father is wanting to capture human females to sell as slaves in order to reproduce to help save their dwindling race and he plans to sale Rachel. Valonis fights to keep this from happening and in the process mates with Rachel which results in an unexpected pregnancy. Eventually things work out for Rachel and Valonis and without giving away the story, the book is a great read and I would highly recommend the book. I received a copy of this book thru Booksprout.
Wow this book is super hot it will capture your interest from the start leaving you to read every page and wishing for more. Valonis saves Rachel after sneaking into the earth realm. He takes her home with him only for him to realise that she is his one true mate. But how can a human and dragon ever be together and on top of that Valonis is a royal and will inherit the dukedom from his father. Now Valonis and Rachel need to prove human/shifter matings work and can produce a child. Will the challenges be to much for this couple. A well written fast paced read I loved it.

What an amazing read. I was gripped throughout. The love and the hate comes through, but how they conquer it will keep you thrilled throughout. I was given this book via Booksprout for a honest review
No spoilers of any kind because I’m not the type that does that. So all I’m going to say is a great book and I’m going to leave it at that. First time reading anything by this author but I’ll definitely be reading more of his work in the future because this book got my attention and held it the whole time while I was reading it. But yes I do recommend this book to anyone who’s wanting a good story to climb into.
Anyone who loves an HEA, this is my mate, should read Valonis . It is wonderful/ Rachel and Valonis are wonderful together. Their love is explosive. I loved it.

I enjoyed reading this book 📚, it has a great storyline. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
I read the prequel to this series called Falon and enjoyed it so much, I had to read this one book 1, Valonis. I love that the dragons come from a different dimension than Earth, but unfortunately the dragons are having troubles reproducing. They are also forbidden to travel through the portal to Earth. Valonis is somewhat of a player in the dragon realm and he’s getting bored with all the dragon females. So he sneaks off to Earth to try something different. He smells something that causes him to become aroused and he meets Rachel, walking home drunk from a party. This story is gr8. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
I really love this story line. This is a new author for me and I am so glad I downloaded the free book Fallon . Fallon was a great book and Valonis was even better and now I am going to read the next book. Keep the stories coming
I enjoy shifter books, but I especially enjoy dragon shifters. I love love love this story. Yes it was wrong what Valonis does, but it couldn't have worked out better. Who knows what Vilhelm would have done without Rachel. I hope the other books are just as well written.
Dragon Shifter Romance! An entertaining tale of romance and intrigue. Valonis, an arrogant bored Royal playboy, enters the human world for a night of fun. Instead he meets and kidnaps his human soulmate, turning his world upside down. A gripping read.
