Paparazzi, gossip-rags, jealousy… All good reasons for me NOT to date the King of Hollywood.
Julia
Dean Hollywood - Yes, his last name is Hollywood. Arrogant, A-list heartthrob, and a pompous jerk. Just the kind of guy I can't stand.
When I finally get my big acting break, it’s with Dean... As his on-screen lover. I couldn’t be more nervous. I’ll have to strip down and get steamy with none other than the most famous man in Tinseltown.
It couldn’t be that bad, could it? He is gorgeous after all, But he certainly didn’t get to the top of the A-list based on his personality.
And when our on-screen fire fails to ignite, it might be time for a little off-screen heat between the sheets.
"Set Desire" is a standalone romance with no cheating and no cliffhangers, but with plenty of steam and a very satisfying HEA, so scroll up and grab your copy today!
This book was well written but nothing too exciting or spectacular about it. The characters were interesting but could have been elaborated more. The storyline did not create any emotion for me.
She's heard the rumors. She's seen the arrogant, spoiled behavior on set. She knows better. Julia is an up and coming actor and when her big break comes it's for a sexy romance with Dean Hollywood. Yes, Hollywood. But when their on-screen chemistry is less than steamy, tempers flare. When the drama heats up and tempers boil over, it seems that real-life chemistry certainly is not a problem. But this is not what Julia signed on for. She has no desire to be Dean's latest toy, despite the desire she might feel for him.
Set Desire is a short, formulaic Hollywood romance. Arrogant, gorgeous, self-centered guy, sweet, lovely girl. Guy acts like a jerk, is nasty to the girl, girl falls anyway. I am not a fan. I have no issue with the basic trope but there must be character development and growth. When the guy is a jackass in chapters 1-7, then decides he wants the girl in chapter 8 and has her in bed by the end of the chapter it does not endear me to either character. The guy MUST change. His behavior must be proven to be better over time. He must be redeemed. The girl must have a shred of dignity and self-respect. There was no character growth. As far as I am concerned Dean will get his fill of Julia by the end of filming. He showed no emotional maturity. He was still grinding on a dance floor after becoming interested in Julia. This man has a fold out bed in his trailer (written into every contract). Not only did it see use with a top model but days later Julia saw action there too. Ick! No respect. This one was not for me. However, it could be exactly what someone else is looking for as an afternoon beach read.
In this book Julia is a new and rising actress. She is set to star in a movie along side the hottest actor on the Hollywood scene, Dean Hollywood himself. This movie is the one to set her career off. But she is nervous to film with Dean. If the rumors are true she is in for a terrible time.
Dean is a cocky and arrogant ass. He thinks he is spoiled and mean. On the day filming is set to start Dean and Julia are set to do a kissing scene. When the scene goes terribly wrong, he humiliates Julia.
Now that tempers are flying and anger is getting the best of the stars, they both are in jeopardy of losing their jobs. Can the stars get their act together? Or will this Set Desire burn up in flames?
Set Desire was a quick and easy read. This is the third book by April Fire that I have had the pleasure of reading. I have to say though it was not my favorite by her. I felt that the story line, although it was hot and steamy, I felt it was a bit rushed. I wished April would have elaborated a bit more in some areas of the story, especially adding in more with the creepy director Fred. But overall the book is an enjoyable read full of hot and steaminess.
So if you are looking for a quickie, then this book is right up your alley. It is hot and steamy and a fun read.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Julia and Dean. Julian is a new actress and is working on a movie with her idol Dean Hollywood. Dean is a well known playboy and is getting a reputation as being difficult to work with. He needs this movie to go smoothly so he can keep working, only he gets into a huge fight with Julia and the story leaks. Julia is embarrassed by everything Dean said about her and later that night when she is out with a friend, Dean shows up and doesn't understand why she is mad at him. He tries to apologize but she doesn't want to hear it. When Julia refuses Dean, she catches his attention and he can't stop thinking about her. When he asks for her help with the movie, she agrees, but wants to keep things professional. Dean and Julia fight their feelings for so long until things get too hard to fight. I liked this story, i really didn't like Dean at first, but he won me over. I like how he wanted to protect Julia. Good one.
A short Hollywood romance story. Julia has just landed her first big roll in a movie with Hollywood’s heart throb and movie star Dean Hollywood. Dean is a jerk to her on set for the first love scene. He threats to get her kicked off the movie. Julia is pissed for the way Dean treated her on the film and blamed her for the terrible kiss on screen. They both need to film to work but can they manage to work together? Will a chemistry that they both felt when they were together that one night turn into more or was it just a mistake? I wasn’t the biggest fan of Dean’s in the big inning but as the book went on you started to see a more likeable side to the arrogant jerk. I receive a Arc copy and I am volunteering to leave a review.
HURRICANE FORCE!!! Talk about a whirlwind out of control. This baby is sizzling. You're pulled into this hot little number so fast your head spins. April is definitely on roll. The characters are complex, relatable and so realistic you fall right in. The scenes and schemes are so vividly detailed it paints a majestic 3D backdrop in Technicolor. With the twists and turns and throw in a few surprises and you find yourself at the end before you knew it. This is one page turning bombshell that keep your full attention until the last word. Remarkable job April, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.
Set Desire is another amazing and sexy book in the Bad Boys of Hollywood series. Julia gets her big break finally to only have Hollywood heartthrob Dean humilate her in front of the whole cast and crew. But she's not going to take it and stands up to the spoilt heartthrob. Dean cant believe that a new starlet can get to him like Julia does, everytime he is near her he forgets his lines and he cant control his bodies reaction to her. Can Julia and Dean bring their chemistry on set and set the screen on fire? Or will this movie be the last one for them both?

Short and sweet and to the point in this story. It showed us what life in Hollywood can be like when you're not really sure how you feel about your co-star. Julia and Dean are just the right amount of intrigue that we need. They make us laugh, shake our heads and be angry all in one. This one was well worth the read. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy
This is cute read. Julia is a up coming star and Dean is an arrogant star. No one has been wanting to work with him, but the women still want him. Julia is so mad at his attitude that she losses her temper. What does Dean think of this? Why can’t he get her off his mind? Why can’t Julia stop yelling at him? Can they get past their differences, and make this film? I received an arc copy for my honest review.
She finally got her break but she has to act opposite him. He is arrogant and so full of himself that the love scenes they have to do are not right. Perhaps they need to get to know each other first. How will it go? See if they get make it better For The film I received an advanced copy and I enjoyed it so much that I want to review
I could find nothing special about this book or its characters. I didn't understand how Dean's original kiss was so bad, but Julia couldn't wait to kiss him again. I frankly didn't care about either of the main characters or whether they had their HEA or not, they do by the way. Probably a nice beach read, or for wherever you choose to vacation.
This is a fun and flirty romance. The storyline is quick and easy, has great chemistry in the H/h's interactions after they let loose. In my opinion, the characters could be fleshed out more to better engage the reader. Overall this is a light read. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
A sweet read for Dane Hollywood has a bad reputation with the film industry and his co-star. When an erotic scene goes wrong he blames Julia for it. Dane realizes that he is actually the bad guy in this case and decided he needs to make this right. But he doesn't realize that this situation will lead to so much more and Julia is the perfect answer. A short sweet read.
This was an easy to read light romance with a Hollywood theme. Love and lights. The characters were not complex and the ready was quick. Entertaining and a fun read for a lazy afternoon.I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book
This is a quick beach or pool read. It made me curious enough to want to know what happens next, I read it in one sitting. There is undeniable attraction between the two characters, actors Dean and Julia.

I ended up reading this book twice, even if I didn’t have time to get through my notes before the ARC was released. The first time through, I couldn’t quite connect with the characters. The second time through was somewhat better, as I was able to get into it more. However, this book didn’t quite live up to the wow of the previous book I read from this author, Drive Me Crazy. The premise was an interesting one, but, well, it is Hollywood! All is about actors, actresses, their daily lives, their work, their love interests… Perhaps it’s just a subject that doesn’t really interest me that much, not really being a fan of gossip rags. Basically, I couldn’t care less which actor was doing who or their bedroom preferences! However the same would go for any millionaire or billionaire (I just care somewhat politically if they’re a philanthropist or a scrooge – it’s a love-hate thing), yet I still end up reading those sorts of romances. Well I guess, what I mean to say is, any story, no matter the premise, especially if it’s a romance, needs to hook you in, pull down your pants and throw you at the wall. I guess I’m starting to get a little jaded, too, so I’m at the point where it’s either “blowed (ha!) me away” or “complete wash out”. This one actually sits somewhere in the middle. After the second read through, there was some connection with the characters, some fun, but it didn’t knock me down.
