Abigail has a piece of paradise. One full of friends, small town hangouts, and three wolves that have given her a place among them. That simple paradise might be jeopardized when Abigail is confronted by the growing uncertainty of the future. Her wolves have problems of their own, trying to keep their noses out of trouble.
All of them have questions they can’t answer.
Is this just a fling or can it stand the tests their lives will throw at them?
*The Wolves of Wild Junction is a steamy Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance duology. The leading lady will not choose between her three love interests. Intended for mature audiences.* *Set in the Wild Junction Universe. It is not required to read the Kingson Pride before starting the Wolves of Wild Junction.*
Kristen Banet has a Diet Coke problem and smokes too much. She curses like a sailor (though, she used to be one, so she uses that as an excuse) and finds that many people don’t know how to handle that. She loves to read, and before finally sitting to try her hand at writing, she had your normal kind of work history. From tattoo parlors, to the U.S. Navy, and freelance illustration, she’s stumbled through her adult years and somehow, is still kicking. She loves to read books that make people cry. She likes to write books that make people cry (and she wants to hear about it). She’s a firm believer that nothing and no one in this world is perfect, and she enjoys exploring those imperfections—trying to make the characters seem real on the page and not just in her head. She might just be crazy, though. Her characters think so, but this can’t be confirmed.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Welcome to the sweetest ending to a duology ever! I am so in love with this book now. Abigail and the wolves have been hanging together for a few months now with nothing set in stone which was fine until they realize that Abby will need to find a new job soon as all those needing therapy in Wild Junction are doing better. The problem is that she is love with the area, the people, and the guys but can they work it all out in time? The way they deal with issues in this book is phenomenal and we even get to wrap up the brother Chris issue at the same time. This book really has all the feels making you say aweeeee when you get to the epilogue wishing there was more to the story. While this wraps up Abby and guys very well I am so hoping to visit Wild Junction again in a future book. I totally loved it so it gets 5/5 stars.
This book was amazing and I'm sad to see the end to The Wolves of Wild Junction. I love all the stories of Wild Junction so much and really hope Kristen has more books planned for this town and the amazing shifters who call it home!
In Heart of the Pack we see Abigail and the guys adjusting to their lives together and figuring out where to go from there. It's now April, about four months since Abby and her wolves got together, and Abigail's job is coming to an end. Her employment with the Pride is expiring and she needs to start looking elsewhere. The guys are running the bar, adjusting well to life in Wild Junction and spending most of their time with Abby, even though their relationship is still slightly under wraps.
I really loved seeing their relationship grow. Abby and the guys had quite a few changes to adjust to in this book but really found a way to settle into their lives together as a pack. This book also deals with the people in their lives, who are still dealing with their own pasts and trying to figure out their futures. The secondary characters play an important roll in this series and are not forgotten, which is something I really appreciated in this book!
Heart of the Pack is a great read and I loved getting to know some other members of Wild Junction in this series. I can't wait to see what Kristen Banet brings us next!
If you have read anything by KB before, then you know KB is an author who isn't afraid to touch on the darker parts of life in the stories she brings us. That's part of why all her characters are so relatable... BUT Heart of the Pack, the second book that tells us about the romance of the Wolves of Wild Junction and their sweet doe, is a relief from that heart-wrenching drama that we all love so much.
Abby is such a sweet, sweet doe. Both Prey to the Heart and Heart of the Pack are nice, cozy, comfortable romances with just enough drama to keep you turning the page. The story line made me feel at home. Not to mention those sexy wolves running around after Abigail all day long kept my panties interested too ;-)
Book two in this duology really brought more of the backstory of my favorite wolves into focus. I feel like I got to know Thomas, Antonio, and James so much more. The ending was satisfying and I hope that we get to see more about *redacted for spoooooillleerrrrsss* later!
Gah. You know what I needed ever since I started being adult? Something to read and enjoy on a limited time. And by that I mean no unnecessary drama. I do love it, too, but I'm afraid not something I can afford with being back to school.
So anyway, second thing I never knew I needed was more adults in my reads. And no, I don't mean any harm against YA or NA, you all know I love those stuffs, but reading this one satisfy the old soul in me. I love how perfect the characters are...but possessed the maturity and wisdom of their years while making decisions. Of course, they have needed the bold and beast of the younger ones but in turn they provide experienced counsel over the younger ones.
Overall, I loved the unnecessary drama. The adults living up to their years. Plus the community of the Wild Junction...I miss the pride huhuhuhu
Disclaimer: I am in love with the Wild Junction world so basically anything Kristen writes there will have me hooked.
Like book 1, Heart of the Pack is much softer and ‘fluffier’ story than her usual but by no means less substantial or developed. Rather than being driven drama, action and catastrophe the characters and relationship drove the story. If that’s not your thing and you need a meatier plot then this might not be your cup of tea but I adored the change.
Abigail and her wolves are beautifully developed characters and we really got to delve into their complex emotional journey.
Their love story is well written and doesn’t shy away from issues and baggage that can arise in real relationship.
Thank you for this story and I look forward to anything else that comes out for Wild Junction.
It turns out that I’m not huge into light-hearted books. While I always enjoy Kristen’s writing, and while I think she does a great job of both character development and world-plotting, I was REALLY hoping that Abigail would have to defend herself against Chris at some point.
As always, thoughts:
Yaaay I’m back!!
I really wish Andrew’s memory was back. It hurts my little heart.
I’m all for autonomy. I AM. But I don’t need to hear about it in every. single. book that I read now. I get it. Girl power. Go team.
I love that Riley and Abigail have almost nothing in common and can still bond.
I really miss the action and adventure that I know Kristen brings to the table, but this was sweet. This continuation of Wild Junction is so beautiful.
This conclusion to Abigal and her wolves is the perfect book of just pure sweet love. I loved this book, I love Abigail and the wolves. Abigail decides it’s time to make her relationship with Thomas, James and Antonio real, for them to become boyfriend and girlfriend. While Abigail is offered her dream job she needs to make a choice, the wolves or her dream job. I loved this book from beginning to end and would love to see more of them in the future. This book was an amazing good feels book that I really enjoyed reading.
I freakn love this series i love this author and i love that she wrote this story it’s exactly what i needed after Kingston pride series something warm and fuzzy but she still add a little kick with Chris this book got me with all the feels with the pack and Abby and Chris oh and the little glimpse of the lion babe and other thing I’m so not gonna spoil it take a good author to make u feel with words this was such a good book
In the first book, we saw Abigail finally coming to term and giving her three wolves a change. Now she needs to decide if her three guys are worth leaving everything behind. Moreover, Thomas' brother, Chris, is back art Wild Junction and Thomas, James and Toni needs to figure out his plan before he ruins the life they have built in the town.
I really hope the author writes more books about the characters in Wild Junction. I'm not ready to tell them goodbye. Both this and the Kingston Pride were such good stories!
Just like Prey to the heart, this book is light and sweet. There’s no huge drama to go through. It’s just a sweet story of love. I’m so glad we got to spend more time with this group. While I love the grittier side of Kristen’s writing I think she did a fantastic job with the light and fluffy as well. This was a story that wouldn’t have worked any other way. Loved it.
I liked it, I really did, but... I wish the author did not do two books. I liked this series because it allowed revisiting old friends from The Kingston Pride series. As a standalone series I do not think it was interesting enough. There was not much going on plot wise in either of the books, so one would have been more than enough.
This continuation of this world was such a sweet surprise. I really hope that Kristen decides to write some of the other lesser characters, because I can't get enough. For now I'll read my last book of Kristen's that is available for me to devour! She has quickly become of my favorite authors, and this little gem of a 2-part series was no exception.
Such a beautiful story. 3 amazing wolves and a kind doe. I love Wild Junction and all the characters in it. I hope to see more of Wild Junction. Kristen has created such an amazing place
Not quite as much strife as book 1, but just enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. Love Abby and her boys, not to mention the Riley and the Pride! Wish we knew what happened with Finn, though.....
Loved this book! Big fan of Abby and the wolves! This was so a wonderful read. It gave insight into Tony, James and Thomas. Loved the friendships that were formed and the bond that grew between pride and pack!
Loved Abigail and the wolves story. Loved the trials and tribulations of falling in love. Also loved reading about all the other wild junction characters. Can’t wait for more 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Loved these two books. Such a cute and funny story. yay for them at the end lol. No spoiling here lol. I hope more books come out from Wild Junction...Love these crazy hilarious dominant characters!!!
A light hearted easy read and romance. Definitely a reverse harem. I have read her Kingson Pride Series and enjoyed visiting some of those characters in this 2 book series as well. I hope she further developed some of the other characters in these books.
Loved this story from the beginning. Not every story needs to be action packed and it’s hard to find paranormal ones that aren’t. If you love a good sweet read the wolves story is for you. I really hope that we get Finn’s story one day.
It's taken a while to get through it. I just wasn't really feeling in the mood for it. So I did have to push myself through it. It's not really anything for this book it was more me.
It's a simple read, and almost an extended epilogue as not much really happens.
DNF at 11% after finishing book 1. Honestly I was just tired of the MC. I don't know whether she would have bothered me as much if I hadn't just finished reading about Riley in the Kingson Pride series (book 1: Wild Pride), which is set in the same community as this series. I think the author deliberately made their personalities so different to highlight the changes between predator and prey shifters, but I just felt that this MC was boring. I really liked the Kingson Pride series, so I wanted to finish this one, but I just couldn't do it.
