Love can be so sweet. Passion, even better when it’s shared amongst two unsuspecting, emotionally aware people. But what about those that ignore the signs? Those people that push at the door instead of pull. The individuals who run away from what they really want because it doesn’t fit the mold of what the world says is acceptable. After you stop fighting against it, accepting what you want as it is and embrace the fire it brings into your life, do you fight for it when trouble calls” Or do you let it go, hoping there’s a way to help you forget about the love you know you’ll never have again. So, you take with you that one memento that always keep that spark, now an eternal ember, burning within your soul, with you. Realizing over time that it’s only a reminder of that very thing in your heart you can never let go of, and after so long, refuse to live without. This is the very case between Tameika and Dahminique. The heart wants what it wants and no matter the obstacle, it will find a way to get it. Join them on from college to adulthood on a journey of self-discovery and wonton love as they navigate the life of passion, love, and heartache that leads to new discoveries and an even better ending.
I was kind of thrown off by the cover and also the title of this book because it doesn't seem to mesh well with what actually happens in the book. Tameika is not a very likable character. She basically makes some pretty rash decisions regarding her relationship with Dahm that have pretty serious consequences, but she doesn't necessarily feel bad about acting the way she does. Yes, Dahm has issues with his basketball injury and painkillers, but how solid is their relationship, to the point that they plan to have a child together, that she bails first sign of trouble? Not only that, but she does the number one no-no in my book and lies to the man about something huge. This is really unforgivable in my book especially when she had no good reason to hide that from him. I really do not see Dahm as dangerous at any point in the book, just someone who needed rehab and compassion. She takes off and shuts off her feeings from him pretty instantly. And then I really don't think we needed the details with her on/again off again boyfriend, Graham either. That did not add to this story. Although I think the writer is good, I wasn't a fan of this romance.
Never thought Dahm would get a chance with Meika ! When he does It's bliss until his injury! Their break up was so heartbreaking!!! Love the way this author brings Dahm back to Meika at the gala! Love the slow recognition that overcomes Tameika! Rahm battles to win her back! Love does heal all !!HEA
Meika and Dahm were not a sweet couple. Love and happiness did not come easy for them. Drama and misunderstanding was their story. But, it was a romance with love, angst and a adorable little girl.
I need more. This story held my interest from the beginning to the end. I loved Dahm and Mekia. True love never dies. Looking forward to reading more story written by TC . Definitely a must read.
It was well written but Tameika was very confused about her feelings. Her reason for finally accepting Dahm's apology and love was because she found the guy she was not in love with having sex with another woman? Hmmm....Odd.
I really enjoyed reading this story, I really love the drama of it all the back and fourth of should they work it or give up. The plot was in point. I high recommend this story.
I choose this rating because it was pretty good and tasteful done except the grammar was not disappointed in the wording but overall I liked the story line it was awesome.
I really enjoyed this read. I loved the chemistry between Dahminique and Tameika. I enjoyed the reality of emotions and relationship issues written in this book. I would've like to hear how Tameika's college friend Shana was doing. Other then that...great read!
