Well, I can't since I'm playing in my hometown for the Richmond Rhinos.
The hometown hero running back who's going to be everyone's payday.
What's mine is theirs because they looked out for me when my father wasn't around and my mother worked three jobs to put food on the table.
What's mine is theirs because I could've been dealing drugs on the street instead of being walked to school everyday by kids bigger than me, believing I had something special.
I give back. But when is it ever going to be enough?
Can't I have something that's just mine?
The only person who gets me is Heather. She's just as misunderstood as I am. But she had a thing for Landyn, and I can't stand him. Yeah he's the quarterback, but it's not all about him.
I have been waiting for this story. I wanted Lacey to get her HEA. Sean probably was the least likely person her protective older brother(Landyn) would want around her, but love has a way of overcoming everything. Landyn hates Sean. They have never gotten along, even in college. Now they are team mates and nothing has changed except Lacey and Sean are now trying to get together. Landyn means well, but he does more harm than good. Lacey has a lot going on and her life is messy. Sean also has his issues but he is good for Lacey. Can they make it work. Just like the other books before this one, what it lacks in length is made up with the emotions and drama.
>Book Review – The Running Back >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 3rd book in the Rookies series and ends in an HEA. Sean and Landyn are enemies, especially since Landyn caught Sean with Lacey, Landyn’s sister. Landyn really comes across poorly in this story. He is hot-headed and refuses to listen, especially when it comes to his sister. Lacey is in treatment for alcoholism and her abused past. She starts to remember horrific events, sharing them with Sean. Sean turns from being a horn dog with regards to Lacey to being her supporter. >Illegal gambling makes an appearance in this story. It is scary how easy it is to influence these professional athletes. Sean goes right to his coach about his issues. What happened to Lacey’s mom is another huge unanswered question. Sean and Lacey seem better as friends than as lovers, but Sean is a great character. His scenes with his grandma are so fun. >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars. The characters from the previous books are all present and the story line is continuing.
I received this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review.
Oh heck Lacey's pov of her life is so, so deep & soul destroying, especially when she starts remembering aspects of her past that she had blocked out for the majority of her life. Well that is until she goes to Sean, her brother Landyn's enemy, though I could've smacked Landyn in the head a few times to grow up & leave college games behind. Sean is one great man & the care & protectiveness he has towards NOT JUST his grandmother & Lacey but the kids from his old neighbourhood football camp. Then things take a turn for the worse of the worse concerning them both. Which I'm sure we'll carry on seeing how things progress between them & what's happening with Landyn & Lacey's parents in The Kicker when we see Nico is there for Veronica, the nurse he's been eyeing up....
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. This is a continuation of the Rhinos team and the drama they deal with. In this story Lacey is still recovering from her excessive drinking and trying to get her memories back. Her brother Landon is still trying to protect her from their dad. Sean is the guy who called Landon to let him know she was a mess. So Landon blames him. Lacey likes Sean. But a guy from Sean's past is treating to ruin what he has and his family if he doesn't throw a few games. See how Landon tries to prevent Sean and Lacey from getting too be friends or anything more. How her past is still haunting her and effecting their lives today.

Sean and Lacey shared a special moment before she went into rehab. Now she’s out and living with her brother, Sean’s teammate, and working at team headquarters. It should be easy for them to get together. Unfortunately, Lacey’s brother hates Sean, her job is community service and she’s in therapy trying to remember the first ten years of her life. Not to mention the gambling scheme Sean is mixed up in and the fact her father may know something about where her mother disappeared to. Through all the action and drama Sean and Lacey are a great couple who complement one another well. I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I absolutely loved this one. I love Lacey. She is a strong character dealing with a lot. Between her alcohol issues, remembering things from past and her stubborn brother. But she also finds a friend Sean. But Sean is dealing with his own major stuff. Will these two be able to be happy or will someone take that from there? There was an intense mind blowing book. There was some moments I wanted to scream ,throw my kindle and cry. I have to say this is my favorite so far from this series. Zoe did a great job writing this one. Loved it.
This is definitely my least favorite so far. I liked Landyn in the first book. However, in this one he was a complete jerk. What he did was unforgivable in my eyes. The main part of this story focuses on his little sister and a guy on his team named Sean. They had a moment in the past and neither has moved on. Thankfully after a lot of crap things worked out.
This is the first book that I've read by this author and it won't be the last. I find the storyline intriguing and the characters wonderful. It is a real pageturner and filled with emotions.

Having read this book Landyn is not my favorite person. The interaction between Lacey and Sean was a good one, who would have thought that falling for a teammates sister would be so difficult?

I really enjoyed reading this book. It had me captivated from the beginning with the hot steamy scenes. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it!
