Exciting and clean, main character matures with each new adventure (unlike most). Really enjoyed the series so far... recommended.

Simple Misconception is Rachel Sharpe’s latest book in her Jordan James, PI Series.
In true Jordan James fashion, Jordan is suffering the effects of her breakup with Rick. At the same time, Jon is letting his feelings be known for her as well. Her mother is insisting she come home for Christmas, because she missed Thanksgiving. Jordan plans a trip home for two weeks.
In typical southern family style, at least for Jordan’s family, her mother fills Jordan’s schedule with baby showers, holiday parties, and luncheons. Jordan’s older sister adds to the drama by being pregnant with her first child. To escape the constant questions on when she would be getting married, Jordan slips out for a quick cup of coffee at a local coffee shop. While there, she bumps into an old high school friend, Natalie. Natalie was the opposite of Jordan’s best friend Heather. Natalie was a ‘wild child’ and a free spirit. It seems much hasn’t changed, at least to Jordan. Her friend mentions traveling abroad and an ill-fated marriage to a Russian man named Taavi. She talked Jordan into hanging out and visiting a few bars in New Orleans.
I’m not going to spoil the story by giving you details, but only that Natalie leads Jordan into some difficult times with her family, until Natalie disappears, and Jordan must investigate to find her missing friend.
Rachel Sharpe has woven some great tales of mystery and drama. Into this she’s built wonderful and complicated family relations and friendships. The twists and turns of the plot are well done. I love the characters and feel like I know them. Well enough to sometimes want to slap them…but that’s one of the reasons this series has become a favorite read of mine.
Grab yourself a copy and settle in for a roller coaster ride!

I read this book in two sittings and had trouble putting it down. Ms. Sharpe has a way of drawing me into her stories quickly and keeping me hooked until the end. It definitely helps to have a feisty protagonist like P.I. Jordan James, who has a knack for stumbling into high-stakes crime scenarios. Like the previous three installments, Simple Misconception is a fast-paced, entertaining novel filled with plot twists, internal and external conflicts, and an unexpected ending...all set against the spectacular backdrop of New Orleans.

The PI in Jordan, knew something wasn’t right with Natalie, was it more than her dad and wife number six. When she asked if I was in, the alternative was the packed schedule my mother had made. To have fun, and be carefree sounded good. Finding out the next morning, she was hung over, her dad’s car had been impounded, and the bars had been in New Orleans, where she never goes. When free spirited Natalie goes missing,.gives us a plot that is rich with the happenings of New Orleans, filled with twists and turns. Good flowing dialog, and family add a lot to this story.

Simple Misconception is another book in the Jordon James PI series that fully reveals Jordon’s still working through feelings about her boyfriend Rick, and investigative partner Jon.
The story is written in first person as many detective stories are but the for this reader
the heroine’s thoughts seemed to intrude on the story. There seemed to more side tracks in Jordon’s thought this time around that made the book a little less enjoyable then prior ones in the series. Thus the four star as the story is still very interesting.
The author continues the Miss Marple theme of Jordon bumbling around until she solves this case with a bit of surprise at the end.
Hope the author continues this series since the story lines are very interesting. I was provided an ARC for an honest review.
