Marion Myles hasn't always been a writer. She spent the first few decades of her life as a professional equestrian and travelled across North America training and competing at horse shows.
Aside from horses, she has had an enduring love affair with the written word. Her reading interests run the gamut from mystery to fantasy to woman's fiction and even young adult. But when it comes right down to it, her heart definitely lies in the romance section.
When not riding or writing, she devotes any spare moments to battling a debilitating addiction to Smarties and stalking her favourite authors on the internet. She's proud to say there are currently no restraining orders filed against her.
Marion lives in Southwestern Ontario with her beloved dachshund and her husband - also very much beloved!
I unfortunately guessed who the killer was but it was still a great read. There was a part at the end where I hated Roman for awhile but that's the only thing I can complain about. Mia was a great heroine and I loved her psychic gift. Her past was unknown and what I thought about it was wrong and there was a twist for sure. I didn't like that either but I loved the dogs. All.four of them. All.rescues. I loved how mac went and found a couple too. I can't wait to read the next one.
I loved this, it was well written and the characters are likeable. Mia is a psychic who is helping solve a 10 year old murder case of a young woman who happens to be the sexy police detective's sister. My favorite thing about this story was the dog pack. Mia has 4 dogs, i only have 2 so she wins there. I LOVE DOGS. The dogs were realistic and sweet. I will introduce them, cause who doesn't like dogs? Mac
Layla
Tucker
Fifi
My only complaint is the murderer is made pretty obvious almost immediately. I would definitely read another Mia +Roman mystery.
I found it original. The only thing is that you can guess who the culprit is almost from the beginning. But I honestly didn't care, I was trapped by the writing. I hope these characters would be the start of a series. I recommend it for those who like a good, funny and well developed romantic suspense.
This was a solid 4 star read for me. I loved the mystery element but the best part was Mia’s unusual ability which added a whole new level of entertainment to the plot. This is a first book by this author for me and I’ll be looking to read more from this author soon
I really enjoyed this book. Mia has a past but you don’t know what until near the end of the book so it keeps you thinking what could it be? Her psychic gift made me think can she really do this or is she making it up & is she involved in the murder somehow, is that something to do with her past. The relationship between her & Roman has its complications so it keeps you interested will they/wont they end up together. I didn’t see who the killer was right up until the point they took their last victim & then it was obvious who it was. A tense chapter would they escape? A really good read that kept my interest all the way through the book.
This author and book popped up in my Facebook feed. It sounded like something I would enjoy so I grabbed it. What a happy surprise! It was really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have to admit that I figured out who did it pretty early. I usually do. But, it certainly didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book. Going to the next one in the series. 😎
4.0 🤯 stars. I'm still processing the details of Mia's past to really give this story a decent review. The idea of a romantic relationship after that is a head scratcher. As far as the psychic suspense, it held my interest and kept me reading. Loved the dogs.
No Time for Goodbye begins when Mia has a visions about a murder, and she ends up going to the police about it. The cops don't believe her, and think she may be a part of it, and when one of the cops is the victim's brother he will stop at nothing to find out what Mia is hiding. Some how these two get put together to try and solve this mystery, but feelings arise as they spend more time together, and it looks like the killer is warning Mia away.
This book was really interesting. I liked the psychic aspect of it, and I really enjoyed the mystery as well. The problem I had was some of the "secrets" the heroine was hiding was a bit fristrating, and the way the hero acted about it was frustrating as well. Not only that I guess who the hero was right in the beginning part of the book, and o was right. So, that kind of made it not as good. But, the overall story was interesting to read, and I liked it.
No Time for Goodbye is an unusual, entertaining, captivating book. It is a mystery novel, but many of the important clues are often overlooked during the story, almost making the reader want to smack some of the characters and have them come back to their senses. I loved the character of Mia, the protagonist. She is a complex and intriguing persona, with psychic abilities and a mysterious past. She is also very smart and strong, possessing plenty of survival skills clearly acquired via troubling experiences. She is also a loving, generous and passionate woman. She lives with four dogs, which play an important role in the story, each one of them with its own personality. Their instincts complement very well Mia’s perceptions making them a formidable, united and unbreakable team. Roman, the male protagonists, is a smart, by the book police detective. He normally tries to hide his generous and passionate soul, but the meeting with Mia unlashes his true self. During the course of the story, going though tough and dramatic circumstances, he fights to find a new intellectual and emotional balance. No Time for Goodbye has a rich storyline, populated by many lively, well depicted side characters. I particularly loved Molly Mancini, Roman and Anita’s mother, a fierce personality who refuses to accept that her daughter’s disappearance could go unexplained, bravely facing the possibility that her kidnapping had a tragic outcome. Finally, the book kept me glued to the page. I read on the metro, listened to it while driving, and even stayed up late one night because I couldn’t bear not knowing how it would end!
This story was written well, just lacked enough story depth for me. Didn’t feel any chemistry between Mia and Roman at all. There was no real relationship building, no connection. Mia has a Doberman pincher and a Labrador, yet person is coming onto her property? When the dogs aren’t locked inside? How’d they manage that not really clear. I knew who the killer was from the first moment. And I found it beyond belief he was able to hide from Mia given the nature of her sensitivity. There would’ve been believability if the author had left the event to what occurred in the prologue. And completely unbelievable he was able to block her. There’s zero reason for him to be able to. And why would she give away her ability to be able to pick up on people’s thoughts, that’s not something that she wants people to know, so why would she let it be known to someone she just met? She’s had years of practice of not letting it be known. That was a serious eye rolling moment when I read that particular scene. It was way out of character. While the killer may have outward appearance of being good person, the inside would be too black, too dark for Mia to not pick up with how sensitive she’s written to be. That’s why I don’t think the story beyond the prologue really works. Mia’s past not being known the entire book was a negative. By the time it is revealed at the end of the book basically, I didn’t care anymore. Not sure on continuing to the next book.
So the GoodReads app just crashed while I was writing this review and now I’m pissed. lol
DNF for me at about 140 pages in. The story was too disjointed. The author is just throwing shit at us and we’re running to catch up. How about we start when Mia finds the bracelet? Mia and Roman go from hating each other to making out in like, 24 hours which is insane when he started out wanting to ruin her life and physically harm her. I had to double check to make sure he was the love interest and not he killer.
And are they southern or Italian or what…first Roman calls his mother “mama” then switches to “Ma.” The way Tony was introduced was weird and it was totally obvious he’s the killer and EW he raped his cousin and wanted to marry her??? And Mia seems to not like her “gift” but then seems really into it and it’s all just weird and clunky and inconsistent. And Roman is the one who reveals her stolen identity to the reader and he’s not even mad about it?? Weird weird weird.
This was a major disappointment because I read the description and was so excited…but what a letdown.

Mia Reeves is a psychic and has a past that she wants no one to find out about. While walking in the woods near her house, she has a vision. A woman is talking to someone but she can’t see who it is. She goes to the police station to turn in a bracelet she “found”. Roman Mancini is a cop and ten years ago his younger sister disappeared. The bracelet MIA brings in is supposed to be his sister’s but it seems a little hinky. After a little while Roman believes Mia and they team up to try and figure out what happened to his sister. Roman’s mother believes Mia and wants her help. When his sister’s wallet is found they leave to investigate but someone lures Mia away and plans to strangle and rape her. When Roman finds out Mia is missing, he rushes back to town or will it be too late? A little steamy. A shady past. Four dogs. Mia would push Roman away with one hand and pull him back with the other. Roman doesn’t plan to give up on the woman he has fallen for. I’ll be honest, I figured out who the serial killer was pretty quick. But it will keep you reading up into the night.
This is my first book by this author. I thought it was pretty good and will likely continue this series in the future. I was a bit disappointed in the chemistry between the two MCs, there didn’t seem to be any actual buildup or tension. But their relationship is cute. And while I figured out who the killer was fairly early on, it didn’t disappoint me at the end.
Mia is a psychic who had a vision of a young woman murdered. Upon going to the station to report what she knows, she finds herself face to face with the brother of the young woman. Clearly skeptical of psychic powers, Roman angrily rejects what she has to say. As Mia proves herself to him, Roman finds himself believing she can help him solve his sister’s 10 year old missing persons case. But Mia unknowingly has set herself in the path of the killer. They have to find this killer before it is too late for another woman.
Mia Reeves is still running, with her 4 dogs, but she has found a place she wants to settle down in. She bought a house with some land, out in the country, and she is happy. But, as a psychic she still gets visions she can't ignore. This one involves a missing woman. She know what she has to do, so she goes to the police.
Detective Roman Mancini doesn't believe Mia's story. Psychics? Doesn't believe in them, but how could she possible know the things she does. Is she involved in the missing woman she has come to tell them about, because it is sister that has been missing for ten years!!
Roman and Mia team up together to try to find the missing Anita. But will they find her body or will they find her? Will Mia become to involved and be accused of knowing more then she is saying?
I really enjoyed this one and can't wait to read the next one!!!
Overall, I enjoyed the book. I really liked the parts with the heroine's dogs and the idea of the story. I will admit I was a bit disappointed in the ending because it felt like it was not quite finished and it made me wonder if the heroine would end up in trouble later. I did had a strong idea of who the killer was fairly early but that didn't bother me because I felt like the story was still interesting and you wanted to find out what was going to happen next. I also wish that there had been a bit more explained of why he killed his first victim such as why he fixated on her in particular. But, even though there were a couple parts that I wish had been a bit more fleshed out, the book did make me want to read more of the author's books, especially any future romantic suspense ones.
This was predictable in the best possible way! If you are a thriller reader, you catch on pretty early on who is the culprit for this horrid business. It moved with the best possible pace, and everything was laid out in enjoyable arrangement - you know, like an edible arrangement.
The characters are, as always, flawed, but they works in this setting. I liked the main character, Mia, the most. She is a strong and independent woman with an amazing pack of dogs.
I am not too sure about Roman, I feel like he needs to prove his worth. He hasn't done anything worthwhile to be MMC, but considering this is a series, there might be a chance to redeem himself.
Its a very pleasant ,quick read. The plot is well developed and she's got the right romance to suspense ratio. Though we do have an inkling to the culprit's Identity, its interesting that the culprit doesn't get too much or too little focus.
The cracking chemistry between Roman and Mia and their bantering is fun. Even the side characters like Brooke ,Gabe and Kevin are great. And I need to give a shout out to her canine famiy.
What I didn't like is how safe the author has played. I really wish she had pushed it to the edge. Everything is just so finely balanced, its frustrating.
A psychic with a criminal past moves to a small town and commits to the straight and narrow. But impressions about a missing woman propel her to the police department , an investigation, love and danger.
This is a pretty good book. I liked the bit about the rescued dogs but I identified the killer early on. The romance was predictable. The main character was not well defined. On one hand she is supposed to be a tough fugitive while on the other she is sweet and intuitive. The whole bad background thing was unconvincing and unnecessary. Still a fast paced , fun read.
I enjoyed this fast-paced romantic suspense novel. Mia Reeves brings evidence to the Dalton Police Department regarding a missing person from ten years ago. It was the sister of Detective Roman Mancini. He is suspicious of Mia's "psychic" talents but comes to believe in them. They work together to investigate his sister's disappearance. I enjoyed the characters. I enjoyed the relationship between Roman and Mia. Given the circumstances it felt authentically written. I figured out who the guilty party was early on but this did not detract from my enjoyment of the book. I would highly recommend this book if you enjoy paranormal romantic suspense.
The story had some great twists with some unexpected...and some predictable...plot developments. Think Hallmark movie about a police officer and psychic with the tensions, distrust and frustration that can be expected in that kind of relationship.
The story line developed in such a way that I read through to the end without stopping.
Because of the very descriptive intimate interactions and the multiple uses of the "f" word, it's not for the young reader. It's not for some adult readers either that do not like that kind of language. The four stars a definately a caution to those that search Goodreads for something to escape into.
No Time for Goodbye by Marion Myles Turns out serial killers mixed with a dash of psychic sleuthing is exactly my jam. Mia is finally putting down roots, but one vision of a missing girl yanks her straight into the tug-of-war between cozy comfort and cold duty. The killer might as well have been standing under a spotlight, but watching Mia wrestle with small-town politics, a love story she never asked for, and the case unraveling piece by piece kept me hooked. Then came the ending—pure monster at the end of the book energy. And not the cute, Sesame Street kind. More like: don’t you dare open that door, because you might not like what’s on the other side.

Pretty good story—-it kept my interest especially since it was a mystery with the killer’s identity revealed at the end. I felt the romance was a little uneven and I never really felt the connection between the H and the h. And even though there was a HEA at the very end, it felt rushed and to me therefore, not as satisfying as I would have liked. But it still was not a bad book and I don’t feel it was a waste of my time reading it. I believe there is a book following this one and the author continues this couple’s story in that one.
Mia is new to town, she found a dog, Mac, in her travels and ended up keeping him. She ended up with four dogs by the time she got to Dalton. She was out walking the dogs and finds a bracelet. Mia has some psychic abilities and she sees the bracelet belonged to a girl who was murdered. She takes it to the police and meets Roman. The girl who was murdered was Roman's missing sister. Mia works with Roman to figure out what happened to Anita. Godd story and characters.
From the moment the character was named I knew who the murderer was, but I liked the story so much I continued. The characters and dialogue were good but I loved the dogs. It was an enjoyable story and in one way I'm glad the author kept it light. If the story has been darker and more serious the tone of the story would have meant a different experience. Definitely a page turner.
Didnt like the story overall even though i liked the twists. I suspected Tony from the beginning so it was not much of a mystery for me when it was revealed that my suspicion was right in the end. It could have been 100 pages short. Didn't like the h much. usually, I love the psychic - cop stories because there is so much of angst, disbelief and pining in the stories and i missed these in this story.
It was hard to finish the story especially the last 150 pages.
The writer can write but the characters and storyline need work. The FMC is truly TSTL. I can't say why without giving it all away but Duh!!. Within 2 paragraphs of introducing the villain, you know he's the baddy of the story. the FMC is supposed to be a reformed con artist...uh no. The MMC is a bully cop that couldn't find a clue ..it just doesn't work. I gave it 2 stars because the writer can write a story, just not this one.
Things happen when you have a gift. Mia can read the energy that is sometimes left behind. As well as what people are feeling. When she feels that the life of a woman ended she tries to do the right thing. That's how she meets Roman. It turns out to be his sister who went missing 10 years earlier. It takes a little time but they find out what happened they also find each other. Looking forward to the next story.
Having certain abilities, makes Mia special but also the subject of riducule and doubt. Mia is blessed but also cursed by having visions and when her visions lead her to a clue about a young woman who disappeared 10 years ago, she knows she must act. The police are skeptical especially the victim’s brother who happens to be a detective for the small town. Great character development, good story and a pack of fur babies that make the story flow. Good enough to pursue the next book in the series.
This book was hard to put down it kept you guessing and wondering the whole way through. The dogs with her were so great and I loved how she took Max a side and explained to him no more dogs. The characters were great and I was not expecting the bad guy to be who he was. I was excited about this book and it did not disappoint I would recommend it to anyone who wants a good read. This would make a great TV series.
