While I love the quotes and the bright cover of this cute little book, I am not sure if I would "recommend" this book. Let me clarify by saying - I love any quotes by Angelou and find her to be brilliant in both written and verbal words - and this gift book has great quotes but that's it. The book is divided into sections like: love, life, society and culture, and self improvement - and there are quotes to go with the chapter name. However, there isn't any picture, art or anything, just the white background and the quote. The quotes can be easily found via Google, or any of her books. This is a good idea for a gift - like grad or any book lover.

Yes, this book can actually fit in my pocket, I checked. 96 pages of 96 quotes. Giving this 5 stars because it served its purpose, and provided me with a new favorite mantra:
"My mission in life is not merely to SURVIVE, but to THRIVE; and to do so with some PASSION, some COMPASSION, some HUMOUR, and STYLE."
T'was a super quick flip through and I bet these wise words from a legendary icon would make a cute party gift. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a pocketbook.
Remember lovelies, DON'T JUST SURVIVE, BUT THRIVE!!!!!!

This was a quick read of quotes from such a beautiful and iconic queen. I read in one sitting, but I will read again and again for the rest of my life. Such an inspirational book from an inspirational woman.

I have absolutely enjoyed this little nugget containing so much of Maya’s wisdom. I can’t wait to read more of her books. Why haven’t I done so before?
