We already have the EXCELLENT I Ate Sunshine for Breakfast, which is a bit advanced for the toddler offspring at present, but is well adored (3D raised and depressed images on the cover, the same amazing Giordano pop art inside, but much more rich). I love it so well that I've (unsuccessfully) tried to hide it in the bookshelves. So when I saw this, I bought it immediately. Wipe-clean, no raised images sadly, but lots of wheels to turn and brightly coloured plants and animals. Only criticism is the accompanying text (meh), and it's a little on the short side.
Update: After the 'newness' wore off, I decided it wasn't worth 4 stars. The unrealistically shaped flora and fauna requires explanation, and the small one has since eschewed this one just a few times too many to be coincidental.
(I Ate Sunshine for Breakfast is truly glorious, though - seek it out! And I do love Giordano's style, so I will be following his future releases).
Seasons is a vibrant and beautifully illustrated book that’s a total hit in our house, especially with my toddler! She absolutely loves pointing out the different objects, colors, and changes in nature as we move from one season to the next. The bold, graphic art style is super engaging for little ones, and there's so much to explore on each page. It’s not just about learning the four seasons, it’s about discovering details, building vocabulary, and having fun together. Whether it’s red apples in fall, snowflakes in winter, or blooming flowers in spring, she's all in. This book has become one of our go-to reads!
