"You never really own freedom, you only preserve it for the next generation."
Issuing a bold wake-up call to America, New York Times best-selling author Brigitte Gabriel reveals the people, organizations, and forces at work to dismantle our Judeo-Christian values and freedoms, destabilize and threaten our national security, and radically redefine our very way of life. Gabriel regularly faces death threats from terrorists, condemnation from critics, and attacks from the "PC police", yet she refuses to back down.
Rise will empower you
Providing a plan for preserving your values and freedoms before it's too late Educating you on how to identify behaviors and ideas that could threaten the local community and ultimately national security Motivating you to unite with other patriots who wish to preserve our endangered Judeo-Christian values and freedoms Helping you understand what you can do to fight the forces that aim to undermine our nation This audiobook is critical to your family and your personal freedom. Will you sit back and watch the greatest country our world has ever known slowly fade away? Or will you rise?
RISE is a book America has needed for some time, and for those adults who feel helpless to explain or halt what they view as a decline in respect for law and order, ignorance of our history and heritage, and loss of moral stamina, family values, and the Judeo-Christian principles upon which our Western Civilization and the founding of our nation were built, RISE is a must-read. I was privileged to receive an ARC in return for this review, and as a retired teacher, I believe that RISE should be required reading in our educational institutions to counteract the brainwashing of too many of our young adults into supporting a dangerous leftist ideology of which they and many of their parents, remain, to a great extent, ignorant. Brigitte Gabriel grew up in Lebanon by Christian parents when radical Islamists destroyed her home, sent her to hospital, and forced her family to live underground in a bomb shelter for seven years. Her book recounts her experiences, and how she found hope in her faith and in a black and white television set, her window to a better life in America, which gave her a passion for the American dream that she eventually realized, learning English, marrying an American, and becoming a citizen. She knows firsthand how fragile our values are, and how we have been losing them through a systematic and planned attack on our civilization which has come very close to succeeding. In each of the fifteen chapters, Gabriel identifies and analyzes a different facet of our society, and outlines in detail and with specific examples and ample documentation how the radical left, in concert with radical Islamists and other anti-American groups, has infiltrated, undermined, and corrupted our political, religious, educational, and social structures as well as our businesses and media industry. She begins, appropriately, with the event, exactly seventeen years prior to the publication of this book, on September 11, 2001, that for the last time in recent memory brought the citizens of our nation together, and drew the sympathy of all other Western nations, in a way we have not known since. We now live in a nation so divided there is desperate talk on both sides of a looming civil war. Taking each element of this division and naming names, she gives a thorough explanation for both sides of the divide, but where many writers would stop, she emphasizes that we are not lost yet. Americans are still an exceptional people who more than any other, have nurtured creativity and exceptional talent and industry that has been the envy of the world. Brigitte Gabriel herself rose above desperate circumstances to become an international expert on terrorism and the activism needed to combat it. She is the Founder of Act for America, one of the largest grassroots patriotic activist organizations in the country. At the end of every chapter she provides a plan of action, simple tasks and programs that most Americans can do to combat the negative, the corrupt, and the evil influences that have been working to bring about (in the words of former President Obama) “fundamental transformation” of an America that has long fostered faith, family, and individual freedom into a global dystopia that would control every aspect of our lives. This book needs to be on every patriot’s bookshelf, and every loyal American organization might consider using it as a guide for activism to challenge the many forces that are working harder than ever to cling to the corruption, greed, and powerful forces that threaten our cherished values and our way of life. This book will make your blood boil. From exposing the failure and mind-blowing cost of the War on Terror to exposing the game of money-making off refugee resettlement to discussing how many Muslims actually support Sharia Law, you will not be able to forget what you read in this book. I already knew much of what she writes about but not the sheer numbers of Muslims who support Jihad and Sharia Law. As she says, the peaceful majority is irrelevant (see pages 25-27). The amount of data and information she shares is phenomenal and eye-opening, especially if you have had your head in the sand or if you have listened to the PC media for too long. Let the information and facts contained in this book settle in your brain and you will be livid. But what I appreciate most in this book is the fact that Brigitte Gabriel gives tips on how to be active in your own community. The book is a clarion call to all Americans to wake up and defend the values espoused in this country from its founding.
Should be required reading! I can't say I've "enjoyed" Ms. Gabriel's books as they are pretty grim; but are well-done, well-researched and extremely informative. She puts her life on the line to give us the truth unlike our politicians and media. I am grateful for her efforts.
A must read for those that think this country is heading in the wrong direction. This book was written 6 years ago during the Trump administration so obviously it has gotten much worse. Surprisingly she is bullish on the younger generation which I would tend to agree with. It is a battle especially for the minds of the next generation and what is being taught at all levels of the educational system. The take-away is to act (see Act for America), stay involved, don't stay silent and ignore what is going on around you.
Brigette Gabriel is a Lebanese-born Christian conservative author, and anti-Islam activist, who is founder of the anti-Muslim group ‘ACT! For America.’
She wrote in the Introduction to this 2018 book, “I was forced to live in [an] eight-by-ten bomb shelter for seven years, from the age of ten to seventeen… Islamic radicals blew up my home in a small Christian town in southern Lebanon in 1975, forcing my parents and me below ground as our only chance to survive. My life story is detailed in my first … bestseller, ‘Because They Hate.’ Raised Catholic, my day started with a prayer thanking Jesus and Mary for watching over me another night… My only window to the world was through a black-and-white television operated on a car battery… I went from having a chauffeur drive me to school to being driven to and from school in a military tank, which could fit myself and fifteen other children inside… Still… [the] things that truly mattered were right next to me in that shelter—the unshakable bond and faith in God that we shared as a family… Shows like ‘Happy Days’ depicted the small-town American utopia in which I could only dream of living… That was the America to which I dreamed of coming. Those are the Judeo-Christian values that came to fruition to form the greatest nation the world has ever seen… America represented all the values I grew up with but captured them in a way no other country on earth had every before.” (Pg. xv-xvi)
She continues, “Looking back on it now, 9/11 showed us how ill our culture was… our leaders simply weren’t willing to do what was necessary to defend our land and way of life… if we’re going to restore America to prominence, we can only do so by recognizing and resurrecting the principles that made America the shining city on a hill we all remember it to be. We must not be ashamed of our heritage, our nationality, or our way of life. If we as Americans cannot champion the virtues of freedom, we cannot possibly expect others to do so. These are the sentiments that inspired me to write this book. It will highlight the most critical problems facing our nation today. It will explain how we got here and what we can do as people who love this country to see that it’s saved.” (Pg. xix)
She explains, “I founded an organization called ‘ACT! for America,’ which has become the largest national security grassroots organization in the US. As of the writing of this book, we have helped pass 97 bills nationwide at the state and federal level to protect the homeland. We empower citizens and give them the tools and the information to impact policy in their cities and states…. The tips throughout this book are a great start and will activate anyone who wants to make a difference.” (Pg. 10)
She asserts, “the argument that there is a peaceful majority [of Muslims] is an irrelevant argument. There are a lot of self-identified Muslims who realize full well the scope of the problem within their own religion. They are the ones most hurt by Islamic radicals and leftists who resort to ad hominem attacks, calling everyone speaking the truth about their religion ‘Islamophobic.’ Indeed, there are plenty of peaceful Muslims in the world who do not practice or endorse the type of barbarism that threatens our way of life, but my point is that these peaceful Muslims do not magically cancel out the threats posed by violent ones.” (Pg. 26)
She contends, “if these tech giants, who control modern communication on a monopolistic scale, continue to run rampant while silencing voices they disagree with politically, freedom of speech will be a thing of the past. Still, even with the reputation Silicon Valley has garnered for silencing conservatives, the voices of violent jihad continue to permeate these outlets on a dangerously high scale.” (Pg. 45)
She explains, “America is a nation of citizens, not immigrants. Citizenship is what every immigrant should aspire to, and only something that should be obtained though genuine assimilation into the fabric of a Western, democratic society built on Judeo-Christian principles. This is not a knock on immigrants. I myself am an immigrant. I legally immigrated to the United States and became a United States citizen through marriage… I didn’t even teach my children my native Arabic when they were growing up, though it was the easiest language for me to speak. I wanted them to be 100% American and bleed nothing but red, white and blue.” (Pg. 49)
She argues, “The mainstream media has spread falsehoods about how America is America because we accept anyone … and do not expect anything in return for our generosity. Wrong! America … serves as a beacon of light that the rest of the world can embody … by recognizing certain unalienable rights… Should America help those struggling in dangerous and impoverished countries? Yes… But the way we do that is not by transforming who we are … simply to appease the rest of the world… if we truly want to help refugees, we could work with our European allies to set up a safe zone for them in the Middle East, rather than … bring[ing] unvetted, ISIS-infiltrated refugee camps to the Western world.” (Pg. 63-64)
She contends, “Honor violence can take many forms… Information about honor violence is closely concealed by families and communities who tend to communicate in Arabic amongst themselves only. Victims or potential victims may not report victimization out of fear. Further, victims may not report honor violence because in their home culture what has occurred is not viewed as a crime.” (Pg. 94)
She notes, “In addition to women and children, gay men are another group of individuals who are routinely brutalized in the Muslim world… Regardless of how those in the West feel about homosexuality on a personal level, our culture allows for rigorous public debate on the subject and how public policy should approach the issue of gay marriage.” (Pg. 100)
She states that “CAIR [the Council on American Islamic Relations] despises me … [because] I’m privy to their terrorist front-scheme and intent on exposing their destructive intentions… Secondly, I’m an Arab-Christian woman… my Middle Eastern ethnicity … prevents them from labeling me as a racist… Add to the fact that I am … a Christian, which makes me an infidel worthy of death… As I am a woman, its offensive to radical Islamists for me to walk around without a hijab, let alone speak my mind in opposition to the spread of global jihad.” (Pg. 127)
She asserts, “once you understand the animosity the Left has for Western civilization, it becomes clear how they possess the same hatred for the freedoms it solidified. The Left knows that most Americans---and all sane human beings---would oppose their borderless, kumbaya vision for the future. That’s why the Left and their radical Islamic allies decided that the only way to potentially achieve that future is to silence voices of opposition. This concept of finding useful allies to manipulate is directly spelled out in the Muslim Brotherhood plan to overtake the West… Thus, a strategic all-out war on freedom of speech has been launched by the Islamist-leftist alliance.” (Pg. 157)
She insists, “The reality is freedom of speech… is under attack by two relentless enemies: radical Islam and the radical Left (and now even ignorant Republicans…) Both are working together to shut you up and prevent your children and grandchildren from exercising the same rights that every American since the nation’s founding have had the privilege of doing. Unless Americans take hold of this increasingly dangerous threat, our ability to fight back with truth could be gone forever.” (Pg. 162-163)
She states, “There were serious questions about President Clinton’s moral decency, but I view him as more of a political opportunist than a leftist. If we compare his views and actions with those taken by Obama, the Clinton administration comes out looking like a bunch of Republicans… I don’t believe Bill Clinton hated America or its founding principles as much as he was just apathetic toward them. Sadly, I can’t say the same for Barack Obama. Since Obama’s rise to power , the Democratic Party has been transformed to the party of lawlessness and anti-Americanism. It’s embraced anarchist groups such as Antifa and Black Lives Matter, calling them ‘peaceful protesters,’ even after such groups call for the death of police officers.” (Pg. 192)
She concludes, “What we have here in America is truly exceptional, regardless of that the mainstream media will tell you. All cultures are not equal. Western, Judeo-Christian civilization is one of the greatest gifts humanity has ever known…. I want my children, grandchildren, and generations following to grow up in a society that allows freedom of expression, the right to protect oneself from harm, the right to disagree without being labeled a bigot… the right to equal treatment under the law, and all the other rights that Western, Judeo-Christian civilization has afforded to all of us. We cannot continue to sit idly by as our community, country, and civilization continues to be attacked from both abroad and within, without any pushback.” (Pg. 195)
This 2018 book is a good/must read, considering the issues in the 2024 election were burning issues in 2016 election as well, except magnified many times over, that I was totally ignorant of earlier. The reasons that put Mr.Trump in office in 2016/17 were the same that will put him in office in 2024/25 except that the hold/selective censorship of the news by the left is weakening with the rise of X under Mr.Musk. Other than my minor peeve of the author's ignorance of Bharat/Hinduism on page 88 & 89 on sati, one can search for "Saka Jauhar" on the net or pickup the books "Maharanas - by Omendru Ratnu", "Sati - by Meenakshi Jain" or "Women in RigVeda" or "Essentials of Rig Veda - by R.L.Kashyap", on the role of women in other civilizations, which does not in anyway diminish the areas covered in the book.
Suppression of truth only leads to civilizational suicide. The cruel experiment held full sway in India for the last 100yrs, its sacred geography split to create Islamic nations (Pakistan, Bangladesh), only now trying to wriggle out under Mr.Modi to take it back to its civilizational roots, is now being tried out in Europe and USA. Glad the country is resisting it and waking up as it tackles this head on. Anyone interested where this will lead to, need only study the history of post-independent India under the left/socialist/marxist dystopia, which churned out generations with no understanding of its civilizational ethos and accomplishments and in fact ashamed of it. Jews in India in the last 2000 years in the Indian civilization were never persecuted. The first Indian PM to visit Israel in 2017.
This book is a great service, akin to Morpheus offering the red pill to people still stuck/hooked into the matrix. Shared the 10th chapter on "CAIR and the Terrorist Front Scheme" and the flyer from the author's X with my employer that we have more than 10+ chapters of this organization with Employer Match program on our charity platform.
With chapters on Our Nation Divided, Replacement Civilization, Transformation through Immigration, Operation Indoctrination, as well as The Cost of Terror, Weaponizing the Internet, and The Business of Fake Hate, the author does a fantastic job of providing accurate information. This well-researched (see copious Notes) book shows chilling examples of the ways in which radical Islam and their media, academic, and political friends and abettors are trying to annihlate our nation., Has good tips at the end of each chapter on how we can take action. Has Index Memorable Quotes: p. 71 "Be mindful of this the next time your pastor, priest, or rabbi tries to guide you into supporting refugee resettlement in your church or synagogue. You don't need greedy lectures cloaked in compassion! It's easy to claim moral superiority when you're the one getting rich off an enterprise that is not paid for by you, but by taxpaying citizens." and especially this quote p.2 "In the Islamic world they love and celebrate death. We love and celebrate life. That's a contrast with profoundly dangerous consequences."
This book was hard for me to read. I really enjoyed Brigette on Dave Rubin’s podcast and wanted to try her book after listening to the interview.
While I think there is lots of useful information in the book and I learned a lot, I felt like it left me depressed and scared.
She gives lots of ways to ACT and get involved in local politics but a lot of the advise at the end of each chapter was repeated from the previous chapter.
I really like Brigette and her story. I’m just not sure I would recommend this book to most people. Maybe to someone that wants to get even more upset at are already failing government.
3.5 ⭐️ definitely well researched and good information but the sarcasm and manner in which the left was spoken of was immature and distasteful. Also, the manner in which trump was idolized and the name calling of more liberal politicians, didn’t do much to support what she was ultimately trying to get across. The political editorials could have been left out and focused only on the facts and it would have been a much more meaningful book.
Rise: In Defense of Judeo-Christian Values and Freedom is a horrifying exposé into how Islam is supplanting Judeo-Christian values in the Western world. Author and founder of the Rise to ACT for America foundation, Brigitte Gabriel discusses the lax government vetting of “refugees” from Muslim countries, the amount of violent crimes that they commit (including acts of terrorism), and how it’s changing American communities – forcing them to adapt to Muslim culture instead of vis-a-visa. She also looks at how Islamic terrorist groups, such as ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood, recruit in the West and use front groups that work with law enforcement and education associations to rewrite manuals and text books; spreading propaganda and reducing our ability to prepare for, investigate, and understand Islamic terrorism. And, Gabriel reveals how the mainstream media enables and covers up Muslim refugee violence and Islamic terrorism, and manufactures an “Islamophobia” narrative to attack anyone (including Muslims) who criticize Islam for things such as its honor violence/killings, FGM, and the oppression of women. Additionally, each chapter concludes with suggested action points for combatting the issues she’s addressed; such as writing congressmen, attending city council meetings, and confronting media misinformation. A victim of Islamic terrorism herself, Gabriel brings personal experience and expertise to the issues she discusses and backs up her discussion points with copious amounts of research. Incredible provocative and eye-opening, Rise: In Defense of Judeo-Christian Values and Freedom examines some very troubling issues that Western culture is facing.
