Best friends since the age of three; spirited waitress, Maya Crofton and ladies’ man, Luke Anderson are inseparable, priding themselves on knowing everything about one another. Or so Maya thought. What she doesn’t realise is that Luke is lusting after more than just her friendship and, with alcohol involved, sparks soon fly.
Past encounters, devastating secrets and the unbearable need to hide her true feelings puts Maya in quite the predicament.
Will she overcome her doubts and offer Luke the chance he's been waiting for almost half his life?

Plot ✔️ Writing ✔️ Characters ✔️ Luke ✔️ Luke ✔️ Luke ✔️ Did I mention Luke?! 😍 This book is one of my all times favourites. It’s not full to the brim with drama that makes a book hard to read and leaves you reeling. It’s relatable, funny and oh so cute. Maya and Luke are amazing, and the supporting characters are fun and likable. The smut is great too. WELL worth the read, you won’t be disappointed, promise. 💚
My not so one-night stand is a British comedy about a girl who doesn't date, but her male best friend plays the field. When the pair hookup things get complicated. Luke doesn't treat her like other girls, and Maya isn't sure what to do in an awkward situation.
Can the pair find their way onto the same page? This is a funny story and has a sassy style. 3.5 stars. Paperback Read.
Normally romance isn't my thing; but this book came recommended by a friend. I was drawn in by the first few chapters and absolutely hooked by chapter 5! I was astonished by how Luke and Maya's friendship left me routing for them at every step. I was laughing, crying and cheering through this wonderous story from start to finish and can't wait to see what other books this author will have in store for as I am now a life long fan.
Absolutely loved everything about this book. I could read it 100 more times and still love everything about it. A must read for sure❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I read this on Wattpad twice and I still want to read more.
Meet twenty three-year-old Maya Crofton; a recent graduate with a Business degree and welcome to her mundane life.
Having being single for almost a year, Maya has given up on finding a man and gone are the days of sexy underwear and shaven legs.
That is until she unintentionally has a drunken one night stand with her childhood best friend; Luke Anderson.
He introduces her to a whole new world of delicious pleasures and maybe, just maybe she will find something more...
So this is the synopsis.
I have to say I liked the book, it was really well written but there were a few things that bothered me: ->Really, really long chapters. I kept scrolling and scrolling through the chapter and I was like: ''When does it end?'' ->They needed basically the whole book before they had the talk even though Maya had in mind, they need to sort out their relationship.
->Some questions were left unanswered. For example: Who was the guy who followed Maya? Wha about her boss?
It was a nice read but if only I would get my answers in a book then maybe it'd be worth reading it again.
amazing book. great characters and interesting plot. but 4 stars because I felt it repeated some things too much. definetly recommend it to anyone who likes an erotic, sex filled novel. And it's a quick read.
I loved this book so much, I felt like I was a part of the story itself. I saw the original version as well as the published version, but where amazing. The published version had a lot more tension between Luke and Maya, which got me addicted to the story more and more.
This is a super cute, super best friends to lovers story. As much as I love enemies to lovers, I am a total sucker for childhood best friends to lovers story. Maya and Luke are childhood best friends and nothing can come between them. They come first in each other’s lives. Once they put their friendship on the line, it’s HOT, sizzlin and they def know they belong together. There is a bit of suspense in it, but overall I really enjoyed it.
I would've loved to see dual POVs, it doesn't reflect my rating or anything, but it would've been nice to see his feelings and his point of view on Maya. I would recommend!
When WattPad first recommended this book to me, I was apprehensive about reading it since I’m not a fan of romantic books. But let me tell you, I’ve searched romantic books to find something similar to this and nothing could compare. I was really disappointed when this book was taken down from WattPad because it was published; but I don’t blame the writer.
Why I recommend this book? Because it has great characters, Luke isn’t abusive and manipulative unlike every male protagonist, and it has an unexpected plot. Although it may seem like every romance book, My Not So One Night Stand as I said earlier differs when it comes to the protagonists’ relationship.
This story blew me away. I went in not really knowing what to expect as this is my first read by this particular author. OMG! I love her writing style. From the first words I was addicted. You know how sometimes when you’re at the beginning and have to learn the backstory of the characters, and it’s kind of slow starting? Well, this story was interesting from the first page. I loved the characters and even the side characters. Luke was so freaking dreamy, and I’m a friends-to-lovers lover myself. Those stories always get me, and MNSONS did not disappoint. The chemistry was on point and I devoured the story as quickly as possible.
And then there are a few twists you won’t see coming, which will really keep you on your toes and totally invested in the story.
A fun, sexy read that leaves you wanting more from Luke and Maya.
I really enjoyed this debut novel by Rebecca Robertson, it had everything a romance needs, excellent one liners, funny situations, sexy male lead and HOT sex!
If you're by the pool, sunning yourself and want something funny and cute to read, pick up this book!
You can just reasons much though and mind has gone into making this book Definitely a pleaser , a book to always come back to , to give you thrills and laughs
Finished reading it in 1 day... Once I started, I couldn't stop (I even skipped some meals that day). The ending is my fave part, the way Maya tells Luke that they are having twins melted my heart. Can't wait to read your other books dear author. P.S. My name is also Maya.. what a coincidence.....
Kinda ok, but heroine was getting too much on my nerves to fully enjoy it. She said million times that she'll confess her feelings and yet.. it either ends up with her pushing him to repeat how he feels or in changing the topic. Beyond ridiculous.
The original was literally 5stars and then she messed it up by adding too much like no British person talks like the 1800s and it’s all weird now. Hopefully she releases the original version somewhere accessible
This is technically a re-read since I read it a while ago when it was originally posted on Wattpad.
Some things have varied a little bit but overall I have the same thoughts: It’s a cute read but the last part of the book is kind of rushed for my liking, and it kind of comes out of nowhere.
The Wattpad version I read is now a paid story. I think when it was published some things were changed. Not as good as I remembered but still a really cute story. 3.35
So I originally read this on Wattpad years ago and was disappointed when it got taken down because Maya and Luke were so cute together(even though it was clique when done right can still make a nice read). I finally gave in and bought it and I am not thrilled with the book version at all. Maya and Luke have no chemistry and I think by him admitting his feelings too early it gets rid of the tension too early. The writing was so awkward that it was distracting and there was a lot of a character doing or saying something that makes their actions clear that the author would then explain right after unnecessarily. Also in like every chapter there was a mention about food. In EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER and don’t get my wrong I love food but when the author stops whatever’s happening in the story to mention food it probably shouldn’t be there. Last but not least Sashas role in this story was greatly diminished than in the Wattpad version. It felt like she was just there because the story needed a best friend character. If she wasn’t in the story the plot wouldn’t change at all. So I’m super disappointed and the author took down her version so now this is the closest there is to the OG version and that sucks. The stories are so different she could’ve just left the OG story up because the plots the same but the execution is worlds apart. I do not recommend this at all it is a waste of time.

I had read the original version of this story years ago. And honestly it was the best one. I was really disappointed when it was no more available.. And now I read this version. I am highly disappointed because the story has completely lost its plot..
Some of the memorable moments were Luke feeling up Sasha's legs under the table, thinking it's Maya. The real reason why he always wants Maya to open her eyes when being intimate. Both having stable jobs. Quickies in kitchen. Travelling back to their home. Pregnant Maya. The intensity was so much more in it..
And and Sasha here has no role at all..
These moments were what made it intense. But this version is not good at all.
I had way too much fun reading this story and now have many English slang words to add to my vocabulary. The author wrote with elegance and fluidity. I loved all her witticisms, making me laugh out loud. Luke is dreamy and Maya is adorable and together they make the perfect pair. Every night, I couldn't wait to dive in and lose myself in the world she created, a world where people care deeply and have each other's backs. Not only was this book filled with comedy, but it was sweet, sincere, honest and heartfelt. Loved it! Looking forward to the next book from this author!
I couldn't ever truly fall for this book. I did try, but something about the writing kept me at an arm's length. It might have been the fact that there were large chunks of text that I could skip and still not be lost in the story. There's giving information and then there's oversharing. Which is a shame because Maya and Luke were adorable.
Being from the U.S. though, I did very much enjoy reading all the different slang and words that I'm not used to.
I just finished rereading this and I probably reread this at least once a year because it’s one of my favourites! I’ve been reading this book since I’d first found it on wattpad and I’ve just had such an attachment to it. This is me doing my yearly reread and I very much enjoy it. every. single. time.
This was a fun and engaging read. I appreciate that it was realistic and had good plot twists. Minus a few editing errors, it would have had 5 stars from me.
