Noblewoman Lillian is voyaging across the Atlantic to an arranged marriage when her ship is captured by Pirate Captain Mira. Equally stubborn and wildly opinionated, the women from vastly different backgrounds clash at first. But, being stuck together on a ship has its advantages. With some help from the rest of the crew, the women might manage to find common ground, something kindred to respect, and even (maybe) love. Accompanied by high-jinks on the high seas, this character driven novel will draw you in hook, line, and sinker.

This book was cute, a bit camp and sweet at different times. If you are looking for historically accurate, hardcore adventure or breathtaking romance this isn’t for you. However I enjoyed this read and aside from a bunch of typos, particularly at the start of the book, I found the writing and dialogue quite good. There were a few genuinely funny lines in the book, particularly when the pirate captain got flustered with someone and got a bit snarky. I liked the characters of both Lillian, the captive and Mira, the captain. The first mate Nat is also a great guy and I hope he gets his own happy ending someday!
There is mention of rape, but not explicitly and it never happens to anyone in the book, even offscreen. In fact, the captain has a firm no-rape rule in place with her crew from the start. Mira hints that she enjoys a bit of pain mixed with her pleasure, but it is in the form of an open dialogue without undue pressure.
Overall a decent and entertaining read, 3.5 stars instead of 4 because of punctuation errors and typos.
The first thing that became clear about this book is the author doesn't have an editor. While I'm all for indie writers, I feel they owe it to readers (and themselves) to put out quality work. I'm by no means a punctuation guru but the errors in this book drove me to distraction. That aside, this story was an okay read.
It is a sweet all around story of a young women kidnapped by the pirate captain who then happens to fall in love with the said pirate captain. The love story was well written with good pacing of the story. It was neither rushed nor slow burn which i liked the most. I liked that the young women had a choice in either staying or leaving the ship and she chose to stay on the ship and fell in love with the captain. She didn't fall in love with her kidnapper like it usually happens in pirate novels. The story will keep a smile on your face. It doesn't have any daring adventure like you have come to expect from pirate novels. The whole novel i was waiting for something big to happen but it didn't. There was a subplot that didn't go anywhere but the author could explore that in future series if she so wishes. My favourite part was the scheming of the crew to get the mc together. Most pirate novels have women hiding from the crew but in this the women were out and proud. It was a nice change of pace
