The Unrepentant serial #1

The Unrepentant: Part One

Rate this book
When Estrella’s twin sister Hope is abducted outside a conference in Geneva, Estrella’s carefully ordered world takes a sharp left turn into darkness. She vows revenge on the human traffickers that abducted Hope, and her best friend Charlie has her back, always.
Throw in two wildly inappropriate gifts from her pseudo-parent Lucifer, and a sexy mercenary from her past, and she has everything she needs to break the people who broke Hope. Blood will spill and her inner darkness will rise, but Estrella doesn’t care. She has never been the good twin.

This serial will be in 30k word instalments, and set just after the epilogue from Part Four of The Redeemable. There will be cameos from a lot of your old favorites and references to previous storylines, so if you haven’t read THE REDEEMABLE yet, I suggest you read it first.

This serial will have smoking hot sex (including mmf), swearing and a fair bit of violence.

When I was nine, my grandmother and her friends used to read and swap Harlequin Mills and Boons novels. When I was busted reading one, they started sneaking me boxes full of strong heroines and rugged men. Thus started a long love affair with the romance genre.

Then I discovered urban fantasy, and fell in love with broody Alphas and sexy paranormals, and combining them together was a no brainer.

Then I discovered Reverse Harem.... Oh my. Why choose, am I right?

WHY did I put off reading this story for so long?!?!! The epic worlds Grace creates never cease to amaze me. This next-gen story is full of excitement, angst, and steam. No way you’ll be able to stop at part one!!

This story begins book 2 of the Hell’s Redemption saga. In The Redeemable we met Arcadia “Cady” and her seven sins. They are the parents to our protagonist, Estrella, and her twin sister Hope. We were also introduced to the greater biblical world with archangels and demons.

Seeing as this story is broken into three parts, this book introduces us to the grown up version of the twins we fell in love with in The Redeemable. Hope has assumed her place as the US head of the NRH and Estrella is a Boston Police Officer, wanting to help humanity in a more hands on capacity.

A foiled abduction of Hope has left Rella reeling. Bent on revenge her family refuses to let her go in blind. As a show of support and love they bring her people who can help her on her mission. We have two gargoyles, Romania and Rouen, that are Luc’s best killers and a gift from the Devil himself. Then there’s Clary Mulligan’s son Nazir, who you may recall is one of the children rescued in The Redeemable. He’s grown up to become a lethal mercenary with many hidden skills we’ve yet to encounter. Then there’s Rella’s best friends, and Mulligan cousin, Charlie. He’s the Mulligan mob’s tech guy and learned everything he knows from Oz!!

I’m at a loss for how to describe everything. I mean for me, this book was a set up to the world ahead and a reminder of the characters we loved last book. My favorite has to be meeting the DRAGONS - yes the gargoyles shift into DRAGONS - and I couldn’t have swooned more. Hopefully we get more dragons next book too. As for Rella’s harem, I’m assuming she’ll have 4 men but only time will tell. Looking forward to the next book and how our new intel on the plot to abduct Hope pans out.

This book is the beginning of Estrella's story, one of the twin daughters of Arcadia and the seven deadly sins that we met in The Redeemable part 1-4.
Estrella is an adult now; she works for the Boston police department although her best friend Charlie and part of her family belong to the Irish mob. But when her twin sister Hope gets attacked, she quits her job to have her personal revenge on the people who hurt her. Luc, aka the devil, knows what she's up to and leaves with her two of his demons, both gargoyles. Together with the two demons, Charlie and Naz, another family member, set up on the path to get their revenge.
It's a short and fast-burn story that ends with a cliffhanger. I love Estrella's personality and how independent and loyal she is. I also love how the guys treat her as their queen (literally, especially the gargoyles), and I'm so curious to see if Naz and Charlie will become members of her harem too.

Pretty Satisfying

I was a little worried that the author wasn't going to come through again to make this spin off as delicious as the series before this one, but oh Grace, came through with flying colors and pull off and awesome read... Go, Grace... Go, Grace!!!!

4* ~ A Good Read

Allllllmost a 5 star book....so close! Loved this story way more than I ever expected to, and had even walked away from the series for a little bit after the first 3 books before returning to start The Unrepentant. And I'm kind of mad I waited.

General gist with spoilers:

--Rating - 4.75 stars - almost 5 stars, but there was one chapter around 3/4 of the way through that just bored me to death and I skimmed a bit (instant 'no-5-star-rating' for skimming, those are just my rules).
--Steam - 5+ stars - holy crap can Grace McGinty build some fiery chemistry and then write the heck out of a sex scene. ::insert panting here::
--Storyline - 3 stars - slow to grow while they begin surveillance and making plans, but I anticipate it getting crazy in the next book.
--Plot Twists - 2 stars - I don't think Grace meant for this book to have crazy gasp-worthy plot twists. It's a nice steady read, with no crazy bombs.
--Emotional Pull - 3 stars - my heart aches for Charlie, but no tears will be shed while reading this
--Writing - 5 stars - Grace almost always comes through in the 'comfortable-to-read' department and this book is no different.
--Denouement - 3 stars - we're getting answers while creating questions, but we've just begun
--Cliffhanger? - yes, but nothing too crazy or infuriating
--HEA? - yes, everyone is in a happy place at the end, leading into the next book.

**Trigger warning - this book does talk about sex trafficking and also features some steamy AF mmf scenes.

Great spin off!

This continuation is fantastic. It follows Estrella, one of the twin daughters of Arcadia and the 7 deadly sins. She is “gifted” some yummy gargoyle men to protect her on her vow of revenge after the attempted kidnapping of her sister Hope. This first book is focused more on the relationship development of the two gargoyles and Estrella with a little glimpse into the developing attraction with the other two men. The story is smooth and fun and I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to continue in this world!

A spinoff that's almost better than the original

Actual rating: 4.5 stars
If you read and loved The Reedemable, you will love this book too. I reccomend you read The Reedemable books first before this series, but it's not strictly necessary. Great characters, lots of steam, and an interesting plot make this an enjoyable read. Warning: big cliffhanger at the end, which I'm not a fan of

Not my first monster romance but def my first with gargoyles that turn into dragons the size of a F150 so that's exciting. And hot.

I dont know how I feel about Estrella yet, but Charlie Mulligan is a cutie tootie and the gargoyles are hot af. Nazir is sexy and broken, which of course, I want to fix him. So far 4/4 stars on the harem.

Omg, this was amazing. I put this off for so long, but now I regret waiting.

Estrella is such a badass. And her Gargoyle bodyguards? Woah.

Their relationship is so interesting and I can't wait to see how it'll continue to grow.

I hope Charlie can get over himself.

And Nazir... That's one interesting man and we haven't even seen anything from him.

This series!

I want to rage and hate everyone for this being so short and having to wait for the next one!! So not fair!! It’s really that good. *please be aware this is RH and has themes of M/M. Not my typical type of book but really good.

fan Redeemable

Loved the redeemable series, it's been a while since I've read a book which I couldn't wait to get back to finish, this book carries on the story, but would have liked to have heard more from the originals in this one

Fantastic start to Estrellas story. Hope has been hurt and this is just not acceptable to Estella, she is on a mission to make sure that the perpetrator is caught and this never happens again.
Fantastic read.

I went on a short book hiatus (urgh life) & when I came back this was what I had been reading... don’t remember anything about it- characters, plot, nada....so I’m gonna have to scrap this series. I might come back to it one day.

I did not particularly like Rella in this book. Nothing I could put my finger on, just something did not click. I loved the guys though!

Book one of three

Spin off from the redeemable series. This book is leagues better than its predecessor but wouldn’t make a lot of sense unless you read it first.
