Those intense, blue eyes had such an effect on me… a pull that I couldn’t resist. And the man they belong to doesn’t even realize that he has changed my life forever…
Hailey was my distraction. I buried my frustrations in her. I hurt her because of how unhappy I was with my life. It’s been haunting me ever since.
No one had ever told me I looked unhappy before. No one had ever run away from me before. No one had ever made me want to run after her before.
I needed to gain closure… at least attempt to apologize. But there's more than I bargained for when I find Hailey again. She’s kept something from me… Something I need.
Something that has changed our lives forever.
***Needing Her is a stand-alone novella with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA. And oh yes, plenty of steam too!***
Hailey Montgomery met Anthony Richards when a boss in her company, who would make the decision about a promotion she was seeking, asked her to act as Mr. Richards' driver for the 4 days he was staying in their city on a business trip. She had advanced beyond that job in their company but knew that accepting this would help her in her job quest.
What Hailey didn't know was how attractive Mr. Richards would be or that he would show up and pursue her that first night at the BDSM club she regularly attended. She was able to successfully reject him that night, but not two nights later when she had already been restrained by another dom at the club. She also didn't know that interlude would result in an unplanned pregnancy.
What Anthony didn't know was how much his night with Hailey would impact him after he returned home from his trip or how guilty he would feel about how he treated her. The only benefit to him was that this resulted in his finally seeking professional therapy to address his issues with his father and unhappiness over being forced to be involved in the running of his father's company.
Hailey, too, has many issues related to her relationship with her parents. She had virtually no contact with either of them for many years and had already addressed many of these issues. But she retained a great relationship with her 3 younger sisters, who were now married and starting families of their own.
I think this story could have been a truly good one, but due to several factors it never quite got there. There were many situations that were never clearly addressed or fully resolved, it was often unclear who was speaking or thinking things (even after multiple rereads), and there were gaps in the storyline that were hard to fill in with the information provided.
This may make it sound that I really didn't like the book but, for whatever reason, I did like it. I simply would have liked it much more if these issues did not exist.
I’m just going to get right to it with this one. I couldn’t bring myself to give this book a 1, simply because I don’t want to be dramatic and didn’t despise it. If I’m being honest though, it would probably be more of a 2.5. This has been my first low rating book. I didn’t think it was possible to rate this low for me but here we are. This is nothing against the author or anything like that. This definitely had potential to be great but I just couldn’t get into it, hence why it took me so long to finish. The story was boring and confusing, Anthony and Hailey were very complicated to follow. They didn’t have a personality and felt very monotone to me. I didn’t know what the meaning of the club they met up in was until much later in the story. On top of that, there wasn’t much of a plot to keep my interest enough. I hit a point in the book where I just considered giving up but couldn’t not finish it. I had hoped it would get better, and for a brief time it did, but it didn’t last that long. The story felt really heavy and depressing to me, rightly so, given Anthony and Hailey’s past. The experiences they had with their fathers, which I do feel is what brought them together in the first place. I like they had someone to share those emotions with as well as reflect on. I would never disregard their childhood experience, nor would wish it on anyone else. My heart ached for them in that sense, but it wasn’t the state of mind I wanted to be in when reading. It also wasn’t something I would expect from the current stories I’ve been reading. I have one last book to read in this series and I’m hesitant to read it given how I felt after reading this one, but my curiosity is getting the better of me so I will finish.
Another romance off to a very unusual start. I think of the ditty, "First came love, then came marriage, then along came the baby carriage." This novel goes in reverse order to this ditty. Both the main male and female characters have an affinity for unusual sexual practices. Beyond this, there is a definite magnetic pull between these two that unfolds into love and a relationship. The main male character is an alpha, dominant; focused, steamy yet on the other hand, he can be very sensitive, giving and understanding. Both of these characters suffered from abuse, so much so, that it impacted their psyches. The main female character was able to come to terms with her past, aided by a strong bond with her three sisters. The main male character took until adulthood and the support and understanding of the main female character to start to face the impact of his abuse. Nonetheless, with these very sensitive issues involved in this story, Ms. Love still managers to let love shine through.
This is the first time I read a book by Annabelle Love that I felt was not her true writing ability. The sexual part just was not whole written, along with a few other areas. I felt some of the scene should have been more and a few more scenes added for family and friend members.
The story line was a good thought. Hailey and Anthony meeting and having a one night stand. Hailey getting pregnant and how open she is to her sisters. Antony frustrated with his overbarring father and not able to get Hailey out of his mind. He goes back to see her and can't leave her. Will Antony accept the baby? Will Hailey Let her heart open to Anthony? Can Hailey accept the way Anthony's father is? Can Anthony accept Hailey's parents and sibblings?
I received a copy of this book from Book Funnel. I chose to review it. This book isn't for everyone, but give it a chance. This is a BDSM and to be honest if that isn't your type of story don't get this one. There is a lot going on in the story line so you have to pay attention so you don't miss anything. I truly did love this book. A well written story with real life situations. I think Annabelle Love did a great job with this one. This is one that you can't read in an afternoon but it is worth your time and effort.
Billionaire and a secret baby with emotional healing
Needing Her by Annabelle Love is an emotional story. Hailey and Anthony need each other and get a second chance after Anthony makes some changes and life decisions. This book tells how Hailey and Anthony compliment each other immediately, even though they don’t really know each other very well. Anthony recognizes this and wants this and goes about getting Hailey and their little Antonya in just the ways Hailey needs him to. A good book that introduced me to this author. I’m looking forward to reading more.
Sex brings them together but need brings him back to her. Anthony is on a business trip and Hailey is his driver. Both have some serious issues with their parents. After Hailey drops Anthony off at his hotel he decides to blow off some steam and arrives at a club. He finds Hailey there. They have sex the night before he goes back home. Unable to get Hailey off his mind he comes back 10 months later only to find her with his child. Their journey is more than sex it’s also about trust and healing. Very touching tale.
This story took on some unexpected twists and turns. A sexual encounter, the birth of a child and unquestioned commitment set the stage. The main characters had to endure parents who didn't reset to have children. They suffered physical and emotional abuse but they came out better people, though scared. This book kept me captive until the very end. Kudos to Annabelle Love!!! 👍
The only part of this book that made any sense was the unprotected sex got her pregnant. There was just too much going on and the author tried too hard to make it all work...and it didn't. It was confusing and messy
DNF. I tried but had enough at the half way mark. It was way too confusing and sections seemed to be missing. I couldn't work out what was going on really.

I received an ARC of this book and have voluntarily left a review.
Loved reading this fast paced book. Loved the storyline, the characters and the chemistry between Anthony and Hailey. Liked the ambience of the book. Will certainly check out more books from this author.
It was ok. I think it needs a bit of work. The story felt confusing honestly. I was never really sure what the issues were within the families and why they made such an impact. The intimate scenes lacked intimacy, for lack of a better word, and enough heat. A quick read.
This is only the 2nd book I rated 5 stars in a year. Annabelle Love has hit every mark In writing this book. Hailey and Anthony characters jumped off the pages. Their sex life explained so much. EXCELLENT read.
This was an ok read. A girl set on building her own life due to the horrors in her past meets a wealthy man with similar demons in his current life. Together they start out as a one night stand but then they are thrown back together again.
A nicely written short story thas very intriguing and intense with some BDSM. Hailey and Anthony have an very hot insta-lust one night stand and leaves. He can't seem to get her out of his mind and has a very over bearing father. Hailey grts a suprise from their one night together. He sets out to find her 10 months later. I enjoyed the storyline and how it unfolded. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
