He was everything to me.
I promised to love her forever.

He left me.
I came back damaged and scarred. I couldn't bring that kind of broken to her.

He's not the boy I loved anymore.
She wears armor, shielding the girl I once knew.

Years have gone by.
Too much has changed.

My heart still beats for her.
My soul still cries for him.

Devon "Doc" Mayfield broke my heart, and now he wants to piece me back together. Is it too late?

Daphne Brooks is the girl I left behind, but I'm back to take back what was always mine. I just need her to remember the boy that owns her shattered heart.

This is the sixth book in the Satan’s Sinners MC series by Colbie Kay. This one wasn’t my favorite at all, it was way too depressing and angst filled and not even for a great reason. Daphne met Devon Mayfield (Doc) when she was six and he was seven and had just moved in next door. He was sad about moving away from his friends and Daphne gives him Grizzly, her most favorite stuffed bear. At 16 years old she fell in love with Devon and gave him her heart and body. At 18 years old Devon broke her heart and her life as she knew it changed forever. Ten years later and she now owns Runaway Tattoo and has just gone into business with the Satan’s Sinners MC. She doesn’t really know all the members, only the President, Hanger, from their business meetings and Writer, who is an apprentice at her shop. Her assistant, Audrey convinces Daphne to join her at the Satan’s clubhouse for a BBQ. Daphne is shocked and angry when she sees Devon for the first time in ten years walk out of the clubhouse wearing a Satan’s cut. She immediately leaves the party and goes to her shop because her art is a constant calm for her. Doc is equally as surprised to see Daphne because he figured she would have left town years ago and become a famous artist somewhere. I honestly didn’t really like Daphne and discovering an unknown child after years of not knowing has been added to my list of least favorite tropes.

Devon and Daphne friends, confidants and lovers. They met when they were 6 and 7 and that bond only grew stronger over the years. Promises, secrets and heartbreak. They were torn apart by others and now have cross paths once again . SO much tie has past and so many things have happened to change the children and young adults they once were ! This is their second chance.
Great story!!!!

⭐️⭐️

so first things first I struggled on what to rate this book. I'm gonna give it a smooth 2 stars.

so Devon and Daphne were childhood lovers and it was all sweet and dandy. Then Devon leaves and poof 11 years he's gone. Comes back chaos ensues and it's a whole shit show. One thing I enjoyed about the book was the pace. It was fast paced in the beginning which I felt was great I didn't want to relive the whole love story, BUT then it went tooooo fast paced and almost felt like toooo much unnecessary thing were happening.

The whole reason Devon left!? I wasn't buying it. I needed just 𝗔 𝗕𝗜𝗧 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘. You aren't leaving for 11 years and giving me that as the reason. 😩 especially when you are saying they have this intense since I was a kid love!
It fell super flat for me. I wasn't a fan of the story the potential was there but I don't think it was portrayed the way it was needed. There was angst, but not major angst. Steamy moments were good ( there wasn't a lot but ones that were there it was good) except one was a little cringey. Some chapters I wasn't a fan of the retelling of the same events in a different POV.

Also I don't think this story was meant to be read as a stand-alone there was times I felt a bit lost when it came to the plot of the MC.

2/10
wouldn't recommended unless you've read the whole series! But as a stand-alone no.

A must read

This was an emotional, devastating, heartbreaking story that will certainly pull at the toughest heartstrings. I love stories about Veterans, although I truly hate all that they have been through in order to keep our country safe. I'm thankful to the author's who have written numerous stories about them, the issues that they come home with, and the devastation that they've been through. I know that most of it is fictional, the reality so much worse than anyone can imagine, but it keeps them in our hearts and minds, and hopefully it'll make others more aware and willing to help however possible.
This was a fantastic story with a terrific HEA, and I can't wait to see where the series goes from here.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

Emotional, devastating, heartbreaking story that certainly pull at myheartstrings. I love stories about Veterans because I come from a military family. I truly hate all that they have been through in order to keep our country safe. PTSD is real as I lost my cousin to suicide because he couldn't bear the things he saw and did overseas. I'm truly thankful to author's who have write stories about them, the issues that they come home with, and the devastation that they've been through to help raise awareness. I love Dev and Daph's story.
This was a fantastic story with a terrific HEA, and I can't wait to read more.

Doc

Wow , the ending pops . Happy for Doc, Daphne & Zane but it looks like Deuce has big evil plans and I want to know who the rat is. I do not know if the author meant to name "Deuce " slang for a turd as in " dropping a deuce " I thought it was funny that his name didn't just mean "2" he was Snakes VP but she*t. LOL

This book is good. 👍👍

Doc had some issues that kept him away from the family he was born in so he stayed with his motorcycle family until the love of his life came back into his life whose name is Daphne. I like this book and it was a good story.

So whenever there's a new book in this sereis I always make sure I know when its coming so I can read it. And I have to say that I dove into this book and devoured it. In fact if I'm being completely honest I think this might be my favorite by far.

Daphne and Devon are no strangers to each other. In fact the are former childhood sweethearts that have had circumstances keep them apart for years. Until they happen to bump in to each other, although I really don't want to say bump into each other. It was more like a same place/same time kind of run in.

Devon, aka Doc, is the who helped deliver Bear and Jacey's kid. He's always kind of been the mysterious one in the club, the one that's always kind of there in the shadows. The one we would see on occassion but not really know much about. But we finally get to know him in this book and let me tell you I just love Doc to pieces. I thought he was sweet, kind, caring, gentle, and loyal to the core.

I really really liked Daphne in this book. She's the owner of Runaway Tattoo's and the tattoo artist. I have to say that Daphne really reminded me of myself. So I felt like I had an instant connection with her character.

I really don't want to give away more about this book than I already have. But I will say that I really enjoyed this book. It will take you on one wild ride that might have your emotions all over the place. As I said at the beginning of this review I think this might be my favorite by far in this series. And I really need the next book like right now!!!!

I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!!

***I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion***

Title: Runaway Love
Author: Colbie Kay
Genre: Contemporary Romance/MC/New
Publication Date: 7/27/18
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**

First let me say I love the cover of this book. The model is beautiful and really is the epitome of our heroine, Daphne. She has an edge and toughness because she has to after having her heart destroyed and growing up fast but inside there is still the big hearted little girl who gives her teddy bear to a sad little boy in hopes it brings him happiness. Oh, and second, this is book 6 in the Satan's Sinners MC Series. I guess you could read it as a standalone but to really understand and get the full impact of the ongoing storyline and characters you need to start at the beginning. You won't be sorry. I was hooked at book 1.

This is a very emotional book with triggers. Issues of PTSD, verbal and emotional abuse, as well as survivors guilt are addressed. It does get tense a few times. But the author deals with these issues with dignity, love, truth, and love.

If you are wanting a steamy read, there is some but not until later in the book. The book focuses on Daphne and Devon through flashbacks and how they deal with micro and macro relationship problems. But, it is necessary for the development of these characters and their story. You need to learn where they come from and how they got to where they are now.

My only problem, the ongoing storyline. Right when it gets good the book ends. Oh well...Colbie Kay knows how to keep me coming back for more.

Devon, aka Doc, and Daphne have known each other since they were 6 & 7 years old, so by the time they were going to graduate High School, they knew that they wanted to be together forever. All that changed when Devon left without her, becoming radio silent when she needed him most, so Daphne's heart has been broken for a long time. It's 11 years later when she runs into him again at a Satan's Sinners MC party, and she's not happy at all, so she runs. Doc is shocked to see the woman that he never stopped loving, and he decides that he's going to make it up to her, but how will he get her to ever trust him again. This story was so emotional that I'm still a wreck long after finishing it. I had Daphne's back all the way, so I spent a lot of the story pissed off at Doc, because he never talked to her, just decided that she didn't need him. Yeah, as the book went on, and questions were answered, I could sort of see his point, but I'll still remain #TEAMDAPHNE first! They never lost that chemistry though, and the sexy times lit the sheets (or desks) on fire when they were too close to each other. And the cast of secondaries added more to the story, as bikers never pull punches when a person is messing up, not to mention they also added humor to the mix. And there were more than a few twists that got my f-bombs dropping one after another, as I was on the edge of my seat! I've only read a couple of Colbie Kay's stories, but I'm already in love with her talented writing style, and find myself needing more of this series! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Oh sweet nibblits.

Wow Colbie Kay you have brought this story to life in such a way that i was hooked from the very beginning to the very end .
Seriously the heartbreak that Daphne went through when Doc left for the Army brought me to tears. Then to read what Doc had gone through well lets just say that there was a big snot fess going on there for a few chapters.
I love how strong Daphne had become from a teen mum to the smoking hot tattoo owner that she is today. A great mum to Zane and best friend to the ole ladies. The trials and tribulations one faces when dreams you heald dear shatter leaving you to face a world with fear and trepidation. All because of a man who was a drunk and a mean SOB to his son which then lead to lives being irrevocably broken.
But.. fate or destiny call it what you will steps in and sucker punches you so hard you can't see straight. And then you have to deal with eleven years of miscommunication , secrets , broken hearts and betrayal. If you can get past that then you know you can get past anything with your soul mate by your side . Loved this book and im loving the characters so much with every book i read. Highly recommend this book to everyone . Five flaming stars from me ..

~~~~~~~~~~Julie's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Doc and Daphne were childhood sweethearts until he left and threw everything away. Years later, he is shocked to see her at the clubhouse. She runs but he follows. They both have questions and healing to do but the love they had for each other is still present. Doc has a lot to learn about the new Daphne and she has to get him to open up and heal. The story is fabulous. Awesome writing with a storyline that will show you that love can heal any wound.
~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~

Daphne Brooks had her heart broken and life changed at the age of 18, when Devon Mayfield walked away from all their plans and disappeared from her life for 11 years. Now the man know as Doc was a member of the Satan's Sinners MC and the boy that broke her heart. Can Doc convince Daphne to take another chance on him or will she be the one to walk away this time. WOW! What can I say about this book, it truly was amazing! The story and the characters are the perfect mix of heat and family. I love this series and I can't wait for more from this author.

Wow another out of the park book by Colbie Kay. Runaway Love the latest addition to the Satan’s Sinners and what a great addition. I simply loved this one. Devon “Doc” Mayfield and Daphane Brooks have been in love forever and even through the years of being apart that love lived on. Even get a few surprises along the way. Colbie you have once again written my new favorite book in the series, I keep thinking you can’t write a better book and you go and prove me wrong. So I thank you so very much for that. Book 6 in this series is fabtastic.
Definitely a book you need to go and one click. I highly recommend Runaway Love! So worth the read. Happy reading!!! I look forward to more of the Satan’s Sinners, thank you Colbie!!!! Wish I could give more stars ⭐️.

Sometimes we never know what effect our words will have on someone and then there are the d**** of the world who just dont care and say sh** anyway. Poor Doc was told he wasnt nothing ant that his girl would be nothing unless he left town and never came back and thats just what he did. Years later he returns but dosent let anyone know that he is back, not even his mother. They say time heals all things but in this case time tore them down and then kept them apart. Doc was one of those characters that you just want to reach thorough the pages and just give him a big ol' hug. And poor Daphine, even though she thought she wasnt all that, she learned she was for someone.

Unraveling....

Loved this addition to the series. Dealing with PTSD has to be heartbreaking for everyone involved. This storyline was fast paced, angst filled, hot sex, and things are unraveling.
Really loved Daphne and Devon "Doc" together. A love to last that long is a forever kind of love.

One quote stood out for me that I loved and here it is!!
"We are two imperfect beings connected by an invisible cord, drawing our souls together. And together, we are perfect."

It definitely spoke to my heartstrings ❤
Can't wait for the next book.

I love this series!!! This couple stole my heart. Daphne is one sassy lady who doesn't take any s*** from anybody. In one split second her world is shaken. Doc can't believe who he just saw. They both have questions, lots of questions. Will Daphne be able to get past the rejection and betrayal of the past. Will Doc be able to fight his demons so that they both get the HEA they deserve? You need to read this book to find out! A fantastic addition to this great series!

I absolutely loved this addition to the Satan’s Sinners MC series. Daphne and Devon have had a connection to each other since their first meeting when they became neighbors as kids and that connection is still there after years apart. There story is an emotional one but from the very beginning you know that these characters belong together. I cannot wait for the next book to have some questions answered.
