Every once in a while, the underdog gets his day to shine. For Pure Ice, I thought it’d be fun to step aside from the mansion-living, expensive car-driving, star hockey players of the Red Valley Razors and see what it would be like if an Average Joe got the chance to play for the team.

Landon Turner is your garden-variety good guy who puts everyone else first and has dedicated his life to caring for his quadriplegic brother and working his butt off at his grueling full-time job. There’s nothing glamorous about his blue-collar existence, but all that changes when he gets the opportunity of a lifetime.

Pure Ice is about perseverance, unfailing integrity, and of course, I’ve sprinkled some romance into the recipe, too. Landon’s story wouldn’t be as fun without an alluring woman like Hannah Heatley to open his eyes to more than just hard work. She is as complicated as she is beautiful and gets him wondering if there really is such a thing as happily ever after.

I hope Landon and Hannah’s romance motivates you to reach for the stars no matter who you are!
