Fall in love with Australian history on a grand scale ~ from the mind-boggling Outback to the heart-ravaging passions of Nan, Amaris, and Annie ~ and Miles, Sin, and Ryan.
I am dancing on sunshine that you are visiting my little part of Parris's paradise here on Goodreads.
I write for the reckless at heart Not surprisingly, I identify with my novels' characters, both the protagonists AND antagonists. I suffer with their angsts and bewilderments and rejoice in their joys and triumphs.
And I believe that if we heroically hold fast to our own vision for ourselves in our journey’s confrontations and challenges, Life WILL surely manifest our dreams and goals and visions, as it does for my characters in my novels.

There’s something quite captivating about Afton’s works! Dream Time is no exception!! Beautiful characters. Carefully woven dialogue! Love. Betrayal. Must read!
I couldn't bring myself to finish-- I was just so bored.
So much attention is paid to skipping around huge chunks of time that you don't really get to see the characters develop at all. Everything surrounding the characters is so shallow and a main source of my boredom. There was no attention paid to Nan and her relationship with Miles before she is betrayed and convicted, and I certainly don't see how such a lack luster relationships is supposed to be passionate and cause Nan to pine after him even after everything and despite herself. You see nothing of her building and competing with him in business. And then suddenly we get her daughters meeting and becoming friends, and growing, and falling in love with the same man...again these relationships should be dramatic but aren't because they're horribly developed.
This book isn't even so long, it either needed to be longer, even by 50 pages, or concentration on only Nan and Miles, perhaps they would actually be interesting.
Not for me. This novel attempts to cover too many years and too much Australian history. It would've benefitted from being at least three novels that slowed down and went into appropriate details. As it stands, the characters were passing and under-developed, as were their relationships with one another. I also found the representation of indigenous people quite jarring, with them talking with an African American accent.
Graphic descriptions of life or death struggles to survive in early Australia. Settlers survived impossible conditions (drought, fires, disease, impressive government) and kept moving forward to realize their dreams. Characters were so clearly drawn that you either loved it hated them.
Strong women and men work to overcome the harsh realities of settling Australia. Well written with love, tragedy, joy and hardship intertwined in the lives of Amber, Amaris, Robert, Celeste, and Sin.
I always love a good story about Australia. I learned a lot about its history & geography. The characters were real, and I cared about them. The book moves along nicely, occasionally skipping ahead a few years. Keeps the story moving along.
Another outstanding book by Ms Bonds. Even with all the typos and scribner's errors I give it five stars. This is another historical romance book with a true historical framework infused with the raw emotion and force that identifies it as one of Bond's works. This author has a gift for making it real as she takes you on the adventures with all the warts and scars of real people. The characters are imperfect humans struggling for life and love. The main character, Amaris, is jaded and far from perfect....real. I think this is why I seek out this author's books....true grit from a woman's perspective. Absolutely and without reservation I highlu recommend this book, and now I begin the second book of this series.
