A very good READ!!
I have to say that I was surprised again by this author!! I actually enjoyed this erotic book, It was sweet and some how innocent while being very very hot! I love the reaction to not only the female lead but the male lead. Giving a different take on what mating and being mated means or should i say the reactions of the leads.
It was very tastefully written, well described not only the actions but the feelings involved with this story line. Yes, it has a story line and one that makes sense!! Which makes reading this so much better! A very good read.

Some women have all the luck!!!! Hot and steamy from start to finish!
Was given this book as e-book as a gift on a contest I won. I was not disappointed. If you want hot and steamy! You got it! Loved it! Doesn't start off slow it is, fast paced throughout the book. Just like I like!

Goody goody a new series!!!
Is there anything more exciting than a new series to read? Well, yes getting married and having a child come to mind but not much more. This is a new series to me and I'm very excited. I luv shifter romance. And yes I do think they are out there somewhere, just because I haven't seen one yet is just my bad luck but I have another 20+ years to keep looking. Lori gets lost while hiking an falls breaking her ankle and knocking herself unconscious. When she wakes in a strange house with a huge, gorgeous man sitting beside the bed at first she is terrified, then curious and finally turn on in a way she has never felt before. How can she feel this way about a total stranger? How can she want this man more than her next breath? What she will discover in the next few days will shake her to her very core. But what a way to be shocked! Come join Lori and Lyall as they learn a new way of life. This the 1st book in the Lori's Wolf Pack series. Written in the way only Ma Michaels can write it. Lori is hiking through the woods in a small town that she decided to stay in for a while after fleeing from a relationship. The way it is worded there is the implication of some sort of abuse related to the situation but really the guy was just not all that interested in sex with her. While on her hike she manages to fall down a hill and break her ankle, almost gives herself hypothermia and nearly dies falling off a small cliff. She is rescued by an alpha wolf who's name I can't recall. They immediately are attracted to each other because the are fated mates and just start spewing sappy things at each other as if there can be any feeling behind them. There was also just a ton of typos and sentences that didn't make sense and I decided I had enough.

This was a great read, one I enjoyed immensely. Lyall and Lori had great chemistry: it was intense, crazy and hot. Lyall made me laugh, especially when he started growling at other members of his pack. I'm definitely adding this author to my favourite list and eagerly await for the next book.

Must read that will leaving you wishing for more in your own life. Imagine running away from your life because you feel like you are nothing to your boyfriend and falling into the arms of a man that thinks you're the best thing in the world. Treating you like a princess, not to mention keeping you protected from all other males. I never thought about having a over protective and jealous man before. You will dive into this book and wish you were in her place, trust me. Excellent job!!

Simple story, woman gets lost, found by her mate. Even has the requisite ex coming to take her back. Lots of sex, and talk of can't be without one another. It's a quick read and good for what it is, not in depth at all.

Damn this book steams up by the end. The relationship of true mate between an alpha and the human female he saves is intense. Both feel the need to mate and even though she isn’t a wolf, Lori feels the pull strongly.

Very fast moving, almost a condensed book - Lori basically falls down Lyall's mountain - and he finds her. She is his mate and there is a very strong mating pull between them- and the pages heat up from there with lots of great sex!!

This is a great book. It is well written, smooth flowing and easy to read. The author does a good job portraying the characters, their emotions and the experiences they go through. Once I started the book I couldn't put it down.
Lori is a human. She is staying in a remote cabin to escape from the troubles of real life. While on a hike in the woods, Lori is certain she hears a wolf's cry. Unfortunately she takes a tumbe and realizes it may not have been a good idea to go on a hike and nobody knows where she is.
When Lori wakes up, she finds herself in an unfamiliar bed, with a strange man in the room. She has no idea who the man is, how she got here or what's going on. Being unfamiliar with the shifter community, Lori is in for a big surprise.
I recommend this book to those who enjoy werewolves/shifters, paranormal, romance, and those who have enjoyed other books by the author.

Nope, got as far as 20% then had to give up; the prose, characters and plot development caused too much frustration for me.

Lori is moving on in her life. She dumped her boyfriend, has no family and left her job. She drives to a remote cabin to decompress and goes for a hike. When she gets lost and injured, fate intervenes and Lyall finds her. Alpha wolf of his pack, his magic is strong and when he comes across Lori he wonders why he has a strange pull towards her. His wolf wants to claim her as mate. But fated mates are rare and Lori is all human but his irrational jealousy and protective nature towards Lori leads him to believe that she is his true mate.
This isn't just a full on erotic story. There is an actual storyline. Yes it took place over a short period of time but sometimes love does that, strike out of the blue and freaking hot!!!! I enjoyed reading it and it was a quick read. There was background into the running of a wolf pack. I was a little confused by the way humans accepted the existence of wolf shifters, I'm assuming this is a parallel timeline where shifters are known. But did not put me off in the slightest.
This isn't just a full on erotic story. There is an actual storyline. Yes it took place over a short period of time but sometimes love does that, strike out of the blue and freaking hot!!!! I enjoyed reading it and it was a quick read. There was background into the running of a wolf pack. I was a little confused by the way humans accepted the existence of wolf shifters, I'm assuming this is a parallel timeline where shifters are known. But did not put me off in the slightest.

AK Michaels has done it again; this was such a great book that I couldn't put it down until it was finished and then I wanted to read it again!
Lorelei, or Lori as she prefers to be called, finds herself in a very dangerous position in the forest after running away from her ex. She set out driving to wherever her heart took her, which ended up being a cabin off the beaten path and then a lush forest after deciding to set out on a little hikehike one morning. This hike proved to be the best and worst thing that ever happens to her.
She fell more than once earning multiple injuries and a broken bone or two and nearly cost her her life when she fell off the edge by the stream. She smacked her head causing a giant gash and a lot of blood loss the smell of which attracted a wild animal whose howl had startled her just before that last fall. Luckily the animal that scared her nearly to death happened to be a shifter, wolf shifter to be more precise.
The wolf's name was Lynell, and was the pack alpha. Lynell knew he had to help the human from the time his wolf first saw her so he carried her to his place and called the healer in to help care for her injuries.
Alpha and Lori began feeling things for each other stronger than either ever had with anyone else but neither knew exactly what was going on at first. Alpha promised to care for and protect Lori wanting to make sure all of her wounds healed. Lori didn't have anyone or anything to return to so she took Lynell up on the offer to remain in his home while her body healed and her heart grew. The events that followed were ones so animalistic they would make even the Goddess herself blush.
"Lori knew this was it, she was going to die, out here all on her own, and nobody would even know."
"She better be okay!"
"What was it about her? Why was he feeling like this?"
"The thought of living a life without passion had been her worst nightmare."
"I must insist that you do not vary from what I've said. If I return and I can scent anyone else inside or around the cabin I will not be happy.”

It just wasn't my jam.
I prefer storylines with more emotional development and exploration between the leading couple. The instant and fated storylines just don't satisfy me.
That isn't to say that Michaels hasn't begun to craft an interesting werewolf society, because I was interested in the pack's culture, and especially in reading about Althea, the healer.
If she gets her own book in the future I would be very interested in picking it up.

This is my second book by the author and a novella so a lot less pages, but for the most part, enjoyable. It does need some editing. Like the first book I read, there are some missing words or additional words that make reading this a little challenging.
I got pulled in to the story fairly quickly. It may have been Lori's spunk. Although she was lost and hurt, she forged on and her habit of talking to herself reminded me of myself. I found myself relating to her if not her situation. The romance was fast, but was explained as part of the mating bond so I could overlook the speed at which these two jumped into things. Overall, I liked the characters too. Lyall was a little too dominating at times, but that could just be the very independent part of me speaking. There wasn't really much of a challenge in this book. It was about their meeting and the swiftness of their falling for each other. Aside from the one scene with her ex, which I honestly did not get, it was more about getting her on board with everything, which she did pretty quickly. I was actually surprised at her lack of spunk when her ex showed up and assumed he was in there just to create some kind of conflict.
Overall this was a decent short read with a bit of sex throw in. Based on those explicit sexual scenes, I would not recommend this to any under the age of 18.

This is a short 85 page novella from a genre that I don't read very often. Lori's Wolf for me was a good short read, which allowed me to squeeze it into my review pile earlier than I thought. Due to its genre it was also a nice break from my ususal reading material.
This is my first book by author A.K. Michaels but it won't be my last. I'm looking forward to having a read of some of her other books.
Lori's Wolf was a good novella, it is well written, very easy to become drawn into the story. I liked the characters too. Lori's feelings of wanting to get away from her ex as she felt unloved and undesired are both realistic and believable. No girl wants to be with someone who doesn't appear to want them.

****I have won a copy of Lori's Wolf by A. K. Michaels via giveaway and would love to leave an honest review.
It's kind of disappointing.
Well, mostly because I love the idea of this book, really. Lost in a forest, fell down and got hurt but then saved by an Alpha wolf who instantly falling in love with you. Duh? What's not to love?
But, this author needs a good editor and beta readers. There are tons of grammar mistakes even I, person who do not speak English on everyday basis, winced every time I read it. So many weird lines, odd conversations and forced chemistry. Seriously, the idea is awesome but the execution awful. *sigh*
Could be so much better, really. I know A. K. Michaels have talent so I know she can thrive.
Oh, this is one line that made me laugh and cry at the same time:
"I need a pee." - Lori.

This was a short read, but it was packed with story. Our title character goes hiking and gets injured before encountering a vicious wolf. Once rescued by a pack Alpha who takes her home with him, she awakens to an adventure in a world she never expected. The Alpha wasn't looking for a mate and reluctantly accepted his fate. The story was a learning experience for Lori as she was schooled in the ways of pack life. She also got something life altering as well as an education. I would have liked this more if there had been a longer story but for a short this was pretty good. The sex was hot but there was a good story to go with it and that's always a plus.

Lori is looking for a new beginning but ends up getting injured and lost in the woods. Lyall is the pack leader and is happy just being Alpha but things change as soon as he picks up Lori .
I really loved Lori's character at the beginning and could totally see myself doing what she did if I was trekking alone in a forest
but once she wakes up and sees Lyall I just couldn't connect with her anymore. It seemed like she just lost all her spunk and backbone.
Maybe it was because this was such a short story but there wasn't enough conflict. Now if you mainly read just for Erotica then I do believe this might be your cup of tea :)
I will be looking for longer books by this author because like I said I really like Lori at first .

So, my intention was to start Lori's Wolf while having a coffee ...... The coffee got cold and I didn't put the book down till I'd finished it !
Lori dumps her boyfriend, packs her bags and takes off to a remote cabin in the woods, during a hike she is injured and found by Lyall a sexy Alpha wolf shifter.
Lyall is confused by his reaction to this human woman but his protective and possessive instinct as well as the intense attraction leads him to realise Lori is his true mate.
This novella is a good mix of a very sweet story of love combined with some hot erotic bedroom scenes.
A K Michaels is a new author to my reading list but is now definitely a permanent one.

I really enjoyed this novella. The plot was steamy, and well thought out. The characters were fully fleshed, and like-able. If I was injured and lost in the woods, I would totally wish for a hunky alpha werewolf to make me his love slave! Lyall is the epitome of a good alpha: testosterone-laden, huge, muscle-bound yummy goodness! Lori is the perfect mate: strong-willed, understanding, smart and beautiful. Their love story is just angsty and suspenseful enough to make you not want to put it down until you know the outcome.
