The Battle of Earth Part2 Restart

Rate this book
Arun McEwan is lost, and the Legion’s hopes with him. Humanity teeters on the brink of extermination.

2739 A.D. Six centuries ago, a million children were given up as slaves to Earth’s new alien overlords. Now their descendants have fought their way back home and found Earth in the grip of a savage new alien occupation. This is the Human Legion’s final battle: the Battle of Earth.

Allies, enemies, or both? The opening phases of the Battle of Earth have revealed hidden factions in the powerplay swirling around the Solar System. In ‘Restart’, the finale of the two-part conclusion to the Human Legion series, some dare to dream of a liberated Earth and ask the question: what next? But for the missing General Arun McEwan, the only objective that matters is to get back into the fight to unseat Tawfiq, the alien supreme commander. And with Tawfiq marshalling new forces to unleash a 10,000 year war upon the entire galaxy, victory is slipping from the Legion’s grasp.

The Legion’s campaign of liberation ends here… one way or another.

Bear witness to its conclusion in The Battle of Earth Part 2: Restart.

This is the beginning of my first review. I decided to re-tead the book. Review #2 is below.

Review #1. What can I say about this writer that I haven't already said. In my opinion he is one of the best sci-fi writers in our time. If not the best. I have been reading Mr Taylor for many years now and he has never disappointed me. If anything he keeps getting better.

In this new series Battle of Earth it has time travel. I love stories with time travel. If it is written correctly there isn't any limitations on where the story can go.

I'm going to re-read the book and write another review. So until then....

Review #2.

Battle for Earth Part Two

I re-read Battle for Earth Part 2 and I was correct it was better the second time.  The time travel is fantastic.  I always wanted to be able to time travel it is such a cool concept.   Mr Taylor definitely has a wonderful knowledge and understanding of it.  I won't go into detail cause I don't want to ruin any of the plot, but damn good time travel everything ties together perfectly.   Only one or two loose ends that I can't wait to see where they may go in the future.

The story is a fast moving sci-fi battle for Earth with Humans and all kinds of aliens from other worlds.  There is also several kinds of cloned humans and aliens that make very strange bedfellows.  And of course this makes the story more fantastic and out of this world creatures.  Mr Taylor has a wonderful mind and a great imagination to match it. He can weave a storyline that is believable and easy to understand and follow.  There is plenty of bloody battles and mass destruction. And it also has some romance but what book can  have fighting Marines thats doesn't also have strong female beings that are strong minded and bodies.

This series is an excellent journey into other worlds and earth's future.   There are several books in the Human Legion and each one can be read in any order.  Each one gives a look into individual characters from the stories. I for one like seeing the different backgrounds of all the individuals that come together in the main books, ie., Battle For Earth Part 1& 2, The Battle of Cairo, and Human Legion books.

What to say about this book ........ well
Hmm ahhh I hate this book because it’s the end
This is the closing chapter in what has been a cracking series.... I am more of a fantasy reader but picked up the first book for some reason I can’t recall and really became gripped in the saga and hooked on Tim’s work since that fateful day I have gotten my hands on everything Tim has churned out even novellas so am qualified to say that Tim has grew in confidence and talent has shined through. Over the years I have chatted to Tim and I have been beta reader of another series he published that was great but sadly short lived due to others not clicking with the cast and plot.
This book has had me waiting for publishing as I was very very anxious to see how the whole series slotted in to place and made this a book to really remember! Well it’s came and think putting it in to 2 books was a bold move but turned out a masterful move as it needed that extra help to build up and deliver a fitting ending and I think we would have lost too much of the scenes that were relevant. I hate spoilers in reviews but this one I will throw out for personal reasons...... There is a character who is named after me and that blew me away thanks Tim .
Overall I had to give 5* due to few things out with the storyline, and the story itself was worth 5* . Please don’t just take my reading and limited skills at reviews and go enlist in the legion and fight alongside some great hero’s

Left me wanting more

This was a fun series. I am not usually a time travel guy, but it was only used sparingly which kept me enthralled in the series. I hope the author hopes to pick up in the Perseus Arm someday.

Good but kinda weird

I liked it but it had some weird twists like time travel and 2000 year cyrostassis. They dealt with Tawfig too quickly.

READ THIS SERIES!

This is a great series to read. A truly wonderful example of military science fiction. A lot of players so I would recommend reading the series from the beginning. Keep 'em coming Tim!
