Deception and betrayal caused us to swerve off our path of forever.
Camryn James One night. One decision forced me to walk away from my future. Tragedy brings me home after twelve years, forcing me to face my past and the truths I refused to hear. Surviving Trystan once almost broke me completely. A second time would be impossible.
Trystan Harrison One mistake. One disaster of epic proportion left the only woman I have ever loved, broken and devastated. After twelve years, Camryn is back home and will be forced to realize that everything is not always as it seems. Second chances are not always promised and I refuse to waste mine.
Well this debut novel from Kristi was a total hit for me, novella's/shorter story's are very hard to get right in terms of balance between character depth, story quality and complexity, forming a beginning, a middle and an end, connectivity to characters and a believable time line. Well Kristi Lynn achieved this balance beautifully.
Swerve centres around Trystan and Camryn a couple that were in love; but one huge mistake blew their relationship apart. As a result Camryn leaves Savannah, leaving her family and Trystan behind, until 12 years later the loss of the woman who raised her, who was her world, brings her home.
Trystan and Camryn's lives are so interconnected that once both are in Savannah it is impossible to avoid each other, especially when Trystan has his heart set on finally making Camryn listen to what happened 12 years ago.
Trystan now a local detective and a single father, with a very supportive family, has worked hard for his life over the last 12 years, with a drive to make it feel complete. Yet he knows that cannot happen with out Camryn - the love of his life and the woman who won't give him the time of day. When a case he has been trying to crack for several months crosses Camryn's path their world's truly do collide bringing these to soul mates together again.
The rest of the story plays out as a well paced, descriptive, realistic, loving tale of romance and second chances, of families reconnecting and new families forming. Camryn is a likeable heroine with sass, determination, stubbornness and a big heart. Trystan is loyal, a huge family man with strong morals, a protector and a filthy talker in the bedroom, a hot cop and a single father; I just fell in love with this man from the start.
Another aspect to Swerve I loved was the secondary characters Kristi built into the story. For a shortened novel she managed to build depth and likeability to so many. I already want to know so much more about these hot and sexy Stone brothers, Hunter - Camryn's gay best friend who is just a breath of fresh air and I so wish he was my 'Gusband', with Avery (Trystan's sister and Camryn's best friend) and Caleb (Trystan's son) you become so involved in this world that I didn't want the book to be over. I cannot wait to read more from Kristi Lynn, a highly recommended debut novel.
Congratulations and thank you to first time author Kristi Lynn for an amazingly written story line and characters that you will embrace and fall in love with. Camryn lost her true love years ago when he cheated on her and got the girl pregnant. Shattered she leaves and moves to Vegas. Trystan never had a chance to explain but never lost the love he had for the one girl who captured his heart when they were children. Twelve years later, Camryn returns home after a tragedy that she was not ready to accept. Alone, except for her best friend Hunter, Camryn returns to her childhood home and back to face the one who tore her heart apart. Can she get through this time and handle seeing the one man who has always held her heart? He's a detective now and working hard while raising his 12 year old son all alone. She has always been his and he has never even considered being with anyone else, always holding out hope that one day she would return home and give him a chance to explain things to her. Maybe this would be his chance, maybe he would make sure she would listen to him, hear him out and then decide if she would forgive him or not.
A wonderful second chance at love romance that will keep you captivated and turning page after page to find out if this couple get their happy ending. Beautiful story, wonderful lead characters, wonderful and funny supporting characters, sweet little boy that will charm you, heat between the sheets to get your pulse pumping and a twist that will catch you by surprise!
Kudos to the author on a job well done and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK! I promise you will not be disappointed.
HOLY MOTHER OF BOOK LOVERS!! I ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS BOOK! Right from the very first chapter I was hooked. This book is an emotional rollercoaster you don't want to get off of. Camryn is a beautiful sassy little spitfire that suffers a terrible heart break or so she thinks. Trystan is a gorgeous, sweet alpha cop and he has suffered for years because of a mistake made. I fell instantly in love with these two and the more I read the more I loved them. I couldn't read this book fast enough. I was dying to find out the cause of the turmoil between Camryn and Trystan. Trystan has a son named Caleb who is a very sweet young boy and Camryn has Hunter who she calls her gusband which I thought was hilarious. He's gay and his family disowned him when he came out so Cam is all he has. In the very first chapter I was bawling my eyes out and then the next I was cracking up. I could not put this book down. I almost peed my pants because I didn't want to stop reading. Lol. This book has it all. I laughed, I cried hard and at times I was on the edge of my seat about to chew my fingernails off because the suspense as so intense. But at times the suspense was nerve racking. I had to stop myself a couple of times from jumping to the back to find out what happened between Cam and Trystan that broke them up. The chemistry between these two is so over the top, off the charts Smokin hot. I thought my Kindle was gonna catch on fire. When Camryn and Hunter are at the bar, what happens to Cam had me yelling at my kindle. I could almost feel the characters emotions coming off the pages. This book had me feeling such a plethora of emotions and I LOVED EVERY FREAKIN MINUTE OF IT! OH and can I just say, the thing with the dragonflies gave me the chills. I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE! Oh and just so you know the sex is wet your panties set your crotch on fire smokin hot. Lol! Kristi I can't wait to see what's next. I would love to have more. I want to know if Hunter and Declan get together, and does Hunter get the restaurant up and running. Do Avery and Jackson get together? And I want to know if Camryn and Trystan get married and have kids and what they name them. I NEED MORE PLEASE! Lmao!
To be honest, I don’t know how I feel about this one or how to rate it. Is it a nice, sweet story? Yes. Are the characters likable? Yes. Did I LOVE it? Not really…..
Trystan & Cam were childhood sweethearts. Hero stated that he was 36 yrs old and that they had broken up 12 years ago but according to their story, they dated in highschool and I think they broke up then(?). I may be wrong about that because it was confusing as hell since he said one thing and heroine said another…. Anyhoo, one mistake by Trystan ended up hurting & pushing Cam away. 12 years later she comes home to bury her grandma. And Trystan, who has never stopped loving her, tries to explain what happened that long ago day to see if they can repair their relationship.
SPOILERS AHEAD>>>>>>>
Cam believed Trystan betrayed her 12 years prior when he got another woman pregnant. However, it was revealed that a woman, Mandi, drugged & "violated" (raped?) him. When she told him she was pregnant with his kid, she was "livid that he didn't want anything to do with her and she threatened to give up the baby for adoption". However, after not having any memory of that incident, he finally learns what she did and forces her to give him full custody of the baby and leave town to avoid prison.
So here is my problem with it and all the unanswered questions.....
We learn that he & Cam were tight in their relationship when this happened. Was Cam at that party with him? Did he know this Mandi chick before she drugged him? Why did she pick HIM of all the men at the party? If he didn't know her before this, why would a random woman choose to drug him & have unprotected sex with him and then be so mad at him that he didn't want a relationship with her when she got pregnant? Also, WHERE did they have sex? How could he have sex if he was so drugged that he didn't remember anything? And then, there is WHERE did he "wake up" the next day"feeling the way he did" - meaning, they didn't have sex at his home, so if he was so under the drugs, suffice it to say, he wouldn't have been able to get home on his own and no one helped him. So again, who was this woman who did this to him? Did she know where he lived? And then there is the big question - Why did the Author never once use the word "Rape"? If he was "violated" & drugged, isn't that rape? yet the Hero & Author never once used that word! Why????
And this is why I had issues with this story. The Author left out too much on the plot to make sense of it. While on the one hand, I liked that the role in this rape scenario was reversed and we got the male side aspect, it was also disappointing to me because it never felt like the Hero was a rape victim. For instance, a woman heroine who was raped would have had some residue feelings about it & anger. With this Hero, the Author gave us nothing. Through all his POVs & explanation to heroine, there was no emotion about that act. He made it seem that it was just a mistake he made – one that wasn’t his fault. In fact, that’s how he described it several times - "Violated. Embarrassed. Ashamed". And for some reason, that was very disappointing for me. If there was any emotion behind that disgusting act by the OW, anger, hurt or ANYTHING at all, as well as more details, I would have been able to enjoy this story. However, he stated the following about the experience:
“Being a single father wasn’t in my plans, but I wouldn’t change a single thing that got me my boy. Well, actually, I take that back, and wish more than anything Camryn had not gotten hurt in the process”.
So, he “wouldn’t have changed a thing”? He didn’t regret f***g the OW and getting her pregnant when he was under the influence? He didn’t regret that his child wasn’t from the woman that he loved? He didn’t regret that it cost him the woman he loved?
If you take all that out of the equation, it was a nice & sweet story with likable characters. I love how Hero never stopped loving her & didn’t give up to make her his again, but the execution or emotions from what he went through was missing since it was supposed to have been a big deal based on why they broke up.
I also get that he loved his child, but he was essentially raped and it was made to read as if it was no big deal. That didn't sit well with me - especially as the role seemed to have been reversed and would have liked to see the male version of how the experience affected him & his loved ones. The fact that he said he didn’t “regret” how his son came to be in his life when we are told over & over again how he is suppose to have always loved the heroine, erased any enjoyment I had about this story. The Author never used the word "rape". If he was drugged and had sex that he didn't remember, that is rape. Yet the Hero never uses that term and didn't seem so much affected by that experience, as long as he gained his son out of it that is....
I may be in the minority her, and that is okay by me, but I like my fictional romance characters to have children with each other, not with OP. And if they were conceived by rape circumstances such as in this story, I wanted the ANGER & EMOTIONS from the rape victim. Author missed the mark here I'm sad to say….
In terms of safety, there is no OW/OM drama. Heroine had sex with other men during the 12 year separation and she was even briefly engaged to someone who cheated on her. As for Hero, we didn’t get any background on his sexual history other than the fact that his son said that he didn’t bring OW home or dated.
I love coming across a new author who has a way of creating characters that the reader can invest in from the first page. Camryn James is exactly that kind of character. How can your heart not go out to a woman saying goodbye to the only woman who ever held the role of mother in her life? Add in the heartbreak from her past, returning to her hometown, and the man who broke her heart and the woman is the best kind of hot mess. The kind of character the reader loves to take under their wing, protect, and cheer for. Lucky for Cam she not only has the readers on her side but her best friend, Hunter. Twelve years is a long time to nurse a broken heart, and both Camryn and Trystan have been stuck in emotional limbo for far too long. All he wants is a chance to tell her what really happened in the past, but she has refused to listen. Beyond the second chance romance Ms. Lynn has set her story against a police investigation into a rash of date rapes in Savannah, and Trystan is the lead detective. This story has a lot going for it: great characters, a great suspense storyline, a heartbreaking backstory, and hot steamy chemistry and sex. The road to Cam and Trystan's HEA is far from from level, but by grit and determination, and perhaps a little otherwordly meddling, the journey is a very satisfying read. Kudos for this debut author on a great read, one I highly recommend.
Author Kristi Lynn is a new author with great potential and a bright future ahead of her. SWERVE is her debut novel and won't disappoint you. Her words on paper come from her heart and soul.
This book is a second chance romance and we all love one of those. Camryn and Trystan were high school sweethearts who thought they would be together forever. Unfortunately, this was not to be the case. Misunderstandings and heartbreak lead this couple to be separated for 12 years.
An unexpected death draws Camryn back to town and you can be sure Trystan will be there for her. He’s always loved Camryn and has been waiting for her to listen to and give him a second chance. Things are never what they seem and stubbornness played a big factor in this couple lives.
Trystan is a lovable character, an alpha male who is now a respected police detective. I kind of felt sorry for him after learning about the circumstances that had shaped his life. But the one good thing to come out of it all was someone he wouldn't be without.
Camryn is feisty and stubborn and doesn't want to be hurt again. Will she finally listen to what he has to say? I hope so! Can Trystan make her listen? Will these two characters get their happy ending? Second chances don't come around too often. So I say, grab it while you can!
There were some great characters in this book, I especially loved Hunter. I sincerely hope we get to hear more from him in the future. My last mention before I leave is for the cover of this book. Simply stunning and Hot Hot Hot. Well done and congratulations on your debut novel. Something to be proud of!
Oooooo Mmmmm Ggggggg! What a fantastic 2nd chance romance between 2 people who together made a whole, hearts were broken, waiting for the years to fix them only to discover the love never left, with an awesome "family" always there for them both and a mystery to solve amongst the ebb and pull of 2 lovers finding the way. Looking forward to more from this author!!
If that cover won’t grab your attention the storyline will! Sweet southern charm mixed with 2nd chance romance.....sign me up! I received an ARC of this debut book for this author and I was impressed. Had great characters, a good story with a little heartache and suspense mixed in. The story will have the readers pulling for Trystan and Cam. Looking forward to what this author brings in the future.
“Our hearts are made up of halves, and only together would we be whole.”
I just loved Trystan, and could wax lyrical about how great he is and why, but, I can post no spoilers!! All I can say is I love him as a father, and his own unconditional love for his son. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to be honourable under his circumstances, and that he still loved Camryn after all of those years.
I would like to have seen more from Trystan when he finally gets to tell his truth to Camryn (which took ME by surprise!), and I still think he is an absolute saint for staying in love with her like he did. We hear some from him about the situation, but I would have like to seen some interaction between them over the part she played in bailing on him.
Never have I felt an intense dislike of a female character, even when I’ve read the reviews in the past from others on any particular book. Well, Camryn is the one to make me do it. She was prideful, selfish and judgemental. Yeah, she was let down in the worst way possible, but she wasted years of not only her own life, but stole time from her Grandparents when she just wouldn’t come home to see them, and possibly listen to what Trystan had to say. Even her late and heartfelt realisation that she had wasted time, didn’t help, especially when Trystan told her his version of events.... *sigh*
Let me explain, I guess my issue is the length of time she was away. If it wasn’t so long, I’d have been fine, but that is on me and in no way reflects the quality of the writing. In fact, the sentiments from the characters tied everything up beautifully, but I was still heartbroken for Trystan. Would I recommend this book as an amazing read?? Oh hell yes! And I’m pretty sure I’ve found another debut author whose books I shall be looking forward to! 4.5 Stars for a well written plot content that will strike the hearts of many readers out there.
Wow this story was AMAZING! I loved how Camryn and Trystan got there second chance at love again. Camryn and Trystan were the power couple, they had it all. They were destined to be married and live HEA. Then one night it all comes down and Camryn leaves Savannah to get of her broken heart. Now she is back in Savannah only to run into the man that broke everything about her. She is not going to let him try again to explain what happen, yet everyone in town thinks she needs to listen to his story to make her decision. Trystan is trying so hard to let Camryn have her space, he just is ready to finally tell her truth to what happened that night so many years ago. Once he has his chance it is like the flood gates open. Once this couple sees what they missed out it was beautiful how they fought for their love. It was very poetic and heartwarming all at the same time.
How do you mend a broken heart? Camryn left her home in Savannah desperate to put it in her rearview mirror. It hurt too much to stay after Trystan destroyed her. Then Gigi, Camryn's grandma got sick and Camryn couldn't stay away any longer, even if it meant running into HIM. The inevitable happened right at her Gigi's funeral no less. Trystan couldn't stay away any longer. He finally had a chance to set things right with his girl, praying that he would have a second chance at his happily ever after. He just hoped it wasn't too late.
Kristi Lynn is a debut author but you would never know it from Swerve! Camryn and Trystan have loved each other for a long time. Never thinking that the life they were destined for would swerve off and leave them both devastated. Now they have a chance at getting back on track if Camryn will just give him a chance to tell her the truth. Trystan is absolutely swoon worthy, bar none. Camryn is a sweetheart and the rest of the characters were adorable. Swerve is a sexy sweet romance that left this reader teary eyed and happy, not wanting to say goodbye to these characters. 5 stars for the fabulous Swerve!
Sometimes stuff happens that is out of your control. But when it causes you to loose the person that means the most to you you just pony up the best you can. That's what Trystan did. He even stood up and made it known what happened. Being a stand up guy is never easy but he doesn't regret his decision but he does regret loosing her. Now she's back and this author doesn't make it easy for him to just talk to her. But I do love the way it panned out and it was a great read. Loved it and will definitely be checking out this new to me author in the future.
I absolutely LOVED Swerve! First, let me say that the cover is HOT!!! WOW!! The storyline was amazing! The chemistry between Camryn and Trystan was so hot that it was pretty much flammable! Trystan is a dirty talking alpha Male with the biggest heart. The way he feels for Camryn is absolutely swoon-worthy. Camryn is a strong-willed, first woman that Carrie's the weight of the world on her shoulders. I cannot wait to read more from this author in the future!!
Every now and then you come across a story that, whether you want it to or not, grips you. It holds on and doesn't let go until the very last word.
That was Swerve for me.
It could be how the story starts since it hits so close to home, but I am positive it is how the story is told. The emotions are captured in a raw, realistic way that immerses you into Camryn and Trystan's lives.
I won't give it away but the story was original and one I don't think I have heard of or read before. The swerve these character's lives takes is unexpected and that is what makes a reader want more.
This book hit all second chance elements for me. Resistance, persistance, and an undefined love.
Kristi Lynn knocked it out of the park with her debut novel. I am excited to see more from her.
This is the authors debut book and I adored Camryn and Trystan. She pulled off a genre that is seen widely but she made it her own and that is what kept me glued to the pages from beginning to end.
Camryn has been burned badly by Trystan. She flees her small town life for the bright lights of Vegas and college. When news arrives that her Gigi is sick she runs home not caring that she will run into him again. She doesn’t care what his excuse was for what he did but deep down she’s curious. When a speed date gone wrong lands her in his arms she begins to deconstruct those carefully erected walls around her heart.
Trystan has always loved Cam. Even when she was gone he carried that torch for her even when he became a newly single father. He tried desperately to tell her the truth over the years, but Camryn is stubborn. He’s now a lead detective on a drug case and when Cam gets in the crosshairs he knows this is his chance to make things right and get back the girl that has always been his.
Kristi Lynn took a plot that normally happens to women and flips it around. I couldn’t stop reading. I was rooting for Cam and Tryst to find their way back. They were explosive in the best ways and my kindle was steamy.
They had a fun group of supporting characters such as Hunter her gusband and her best friend Avery. We can’t forget Caleb the innocent child who has Trystans heart the one he lives for. I just wish we would have seen more interaction between Camryn and Caleb I felt it would have been good for the story considering how much of a part he plays in Trystans life. I think this author did a wonderful job and I hope to see stories about the others in this book.
This is the debut book for Ms. Lynn and I am so thankful I was given the opportunity to read and review it. Trystan and Camryn were high school - heck, even elementary school - sweethearts until one night changed their whole lives. This story picks up 12 years after their last encounter when Camryn’s grandmother (the only mother she’s ever known) has passed away.
Trystan has been biding his time to come to Cam and reunite their love. Just as he’s about make his move, another event tilts their world. I enjoyed the crazy in this book. I enjoyed the swoon factor with Trystan...He was the perfect alpha boyfriend with nothing to prove and everything going for him. Cam was a good heroine in that she didn’t take any crap, but she finally relented to the idea of giving him a chance to be her more again.
The dragonfly scenes almost always made me teary having recently lost my own mom and hoping she’s around to still give me support when I need it. This book was great and I can’t wait to see what’s next from this new author.
*** I voluntarily read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This review is based on content and not any potential grammatical errors. ***
This is Kristi’s debut book. I truly enjoyed this book. It was emotional for sure. Camryn and Trystan loved each other so much and then something happened. Trystan got someone else pregnant. Camryn moved away but now twelve years later her dying grandmother brings her home. Trystan never stopped loving her. As long as she was happy he was happy. Now that she is home Trystan wants another chance with her. If he can just get her to listen to him. Not everything is as Camryn thinks. Trystan will continue to try to get Camryn to listen to him. He will do whatever it takes to prove to Camryn that he still loves her. I felt for Cam. She thought that her and Trystan would always be together. Than she learned that he got someone else pregnant. The only way to have done that was to cheat on her. But, is it? Trystan knew that what happened hurt Cam and he hates himself for that. That is why he has left her alone all these years but now that she is back in town. He could have a second chance with her if he could just get her to listen to him. This book was so moving and shows that not everything is black and white. I love all the characters in this book and would love to get to read more about them in the future. I look forward to reading more books by Krisi as well.
OK! First, let's talk about the elephant in the room. Is that cover not the sexiest thing you've seen! I might have stared at it a (long) while before I started reading. Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about the book. Author Kristi Lynn has knocked it out of the park with her debut novel. She takes you on an emotional journey with this second-chance romance and keeps you captivated from the start. The solid plot is well written with enough mystery and suspense to keep you flipping the pages. The storyline is original and has all the elements to make for a great romance. Ms. Lynn's words and description bring her characters to life. Camryn is a strong independent woman who's been hurt badly in the past, and you can't help but to root for her. When tragedy brings her back home to smoking hot Trystan, the man who broke her heart, they discover that their chemistry is still undeniable. Trystan is the perfect, sexy, loveable alpha, who'll fight for what he wants, and Camryn will find it hard to resist him. Kristi Lynn takes you on an emotional journey and sprinkles in lots of smoking hot chemistry. There's other characters in this book that need a story and I can't wait to see what's next from this author!!!
Second-chance romance with a bit of a mystery thrown into the mix, yes please. And with the emotional way that Swerve started, Kristi Lynn had me hooked.
If ever there were two people who were meant to be together, it was Trystan and Camryn. But past mistakes, broken dreams and hearts got in the way for a while. Twelve years. It didn't take long after her return to town for Camryn to run into the man who shattered her world back. I liked her steely determination to not let him get to her. Except he had other plans. He would not be ignored. And he would be heard once and for all.
See, both stubborn. It took an unexpected and almost tragic event for Camryn to come to her senses and agree to hear Trystan out. And when she did, the bottom of her anger and hurt dropped out. Game on! I loved how Trystan made it his mission to let her know everyday in every way he could that she was it for him and this time he wasn't letting go.
While I did find some parts of Swerve to be repetitive, it wasn't enough to make me want to stop reading. For as much as I liked the guilt and regret that both Trystan and Cam held onto, I loved the letting go of it more. And that ending couldn't have been more satisfying.
When Camryn is forced to return home to look after her sick Grandma she knew she was going to have to deal with the reason why she left in the first place. Her heart has been broken and she is not ready to forgive and her emotions are in turmoil over the loss of the one person she knows she can rely on to support her.
Trystan has never given up hope on Camryn coming back home and as much as he wishes it wasn't for the reason she has he is determined to make things right...if only Emmalyn would give him.thw time to explain. The truth needs to be told. He has given her the space and time she needed but he isn't willing to waste any more time.
Camryn doesn't understand What other explanation there could be for what Trystan done but she is starting to see and hear from her friends that things might not be all they seemed to be and she can't deny the chemistry that is still evident between them and not just in her dreams!
Trystan is working on a case close to his heart and his worst nightmare is thrown at him when Camryn gets caught up in his case.
Camryn has been put in danger and Trystan needs to be the one to make sure Camryn knows the truth.
I loved the mix of the sadness, broken and mended hearts with some drama and if course some steamy sex scenes in the mix of it all. It really had it all going on.
I was very lucky to get a copy of this book! Has I love a Second Chance Romance. Camryn and Trystan are childhood sweethearts till one massive mistake one night. Has Camryn flee from home heartbroken. Fast forward 12 years later Camryn has returned home due to the tragedy and hoping to avoid Trystan. Weres Trystan has been waiting and hoping she will return to give him a chance to explain. Has things don't always look as they seem or do they??? I really enjoyed this book and was able to feel all the emotions the characters were feeling. And loved the way Kristi has written this with a twist brilliantly. Congratulations on your first book Kristi hope to see more of the gang. Especially Hunter and Avery who had me giggling.
There's a sweetness about this book that I loved. The story really flowed beautifully but there were times that the dialect moved a little fast but not enough to keep me from stopping. Once I started, I couldn't stop. I had to see if they finally figured things out or not. Camryn and Trystan are sole mates but had a few bumps along the way. Watching them find themselves and each other was enjoyable to say the least. These two have a history and you can't help but to just fall in love with them. Trystan is great character. He's hard working and determined to go after what he wants including Cam and the bad guys he's catching in his job. Cam is great character. She's fun and keeps Trystan on his toes. I love that we get both of their povs. I honestly can't believe this book is from a debut author, it's so good like really really good! I loved every minute of it! Very well done Kristi!
THIS HAD ALL THE FEELS! (Yes, I am screaming this!!)
Camryn is broken, putting Savannah behind her after Trystan broke her heart. When Camryn's grandmother gets sick, she has no choice but to go home. She of course knows this will leave it to chance that she may run into the very person who once destroyed her. Unfortunately, the grandmother passes and at her funeral she runs into Trystan. Trystan knows he has to fix things with Camryn, he's always longed for a second chance and is praying it isn't too late for their happiness.
These two characters were downright swoon worthy. They literally gave me every emotion I could possibly experience through this story. They kept me hooked the entire read. Kristi Lynn has written a pure amazing story and I cannot wait to see what is next from her.
Trystan and Camryn’s story was a special one. A terrible misunderstanding kept them apart a lot of years. Camryn is stubborn and feisty, but vulnerable, especially where Trystan is concerned. Trystan is all alpha male and fights for what he wants, but protects and cares for Camryn like no one else. Hunter, Camryn’s best friend, or “gusband”, is a wonderful addition to this story! I hope he gets his own story, too! Unfortunate circumstances bring her back home, and after all the misunderstandings are eventually resolved, they come back together, which wasn’t as hard as they thought, seeing as they never stopped loving one another. Swoon!!!!
Camryn has just lost one of the most important people in her life. She has never felt more alone even with whole town supporting her. She’s praying not to run into the man she loved who ended up breaking her heart. Trystan is just trying to be there for woman he loves after all these years. There is so much pain in the past but Camryn needs to be willing to listen. Is she finally ready? Will listening to Trystan change anything? I loved this story from the beginning. This is first book I’ve read by this author but I plan on reading more!
I really enjoyed reading Swerve by debut author Kristi Lynn. It’s sweet and sassy, filled with all kinds of Southern charm. Trystan and Camryn used to be in love, but that was a long time ago. Now they live separate lives, until tragedy strikes and brings Camryn back home to Savannah. She doesn’t want to see Trystan and tries to stay far away from him but that’s impossible, especially when all Trystan wants is to set the record straight and get his girl back. Lovely emotion filled 2nd chance romance.
I absolutely loved this story. Each and every word was so good. Although I read many genres the romantic in me loves a good romance story. This was just what I wanted when I needed. It has all the feels.
When Camryn is hurt by her first true love she flees everything she has known and love. She just can’t move pass the hurt. Tragedy brings her back to her home town where she sees Trystan, the guy who hurt her.
Can they move on? Can Trystan get Camryn to listen to him?
A really great story that had me all warm n fuzzy inside. Well done to the author on an awesome debut novel. Can’t wait to read more from her.
A Great debut novel from this author. The story was well written, the characters likable and believable. Camryn returns home to look after her dying grandmother and meets up again with Trystan, her former sweetheart, now a single father and the man who broke her heart several years ago. Can past mistakes be forgiven? Will Camryn even listen to Trystan and give him a chance to explain? He says he's always loved her but Camryn is wary, after all, isn't his twelve year old son a sure sign of his infidelity? Maybe...maybe not... I was rooting for Trystan, he seemed a nice guy and the little plot twist was a wow...didn't see that coming...but made complete sense. I really enjoyed this and will look out for future books from this author.
Swerve is the debut novel from Kristi Lynn, and she did a great job with it! Trystan and Camryn were both very relatable characters that you can't help but connect to from the start. Their story is one of betrayal, misunderstandings, and ultimately fighting for a second chance. They have hot moments that didn't feel forced, and there is angst that only adds to them as a couple.
The story telling was smooth and easy to follow, it was complete and without any plot holes, and it flowed seamlessly.
Swerve was a great start to a new career, and I'm excited to see what else will come from Kristi Lynn.
** You are my business. Always have been. Always will be, sunshine **
Trystan and Camryn were soul mates. Everyone around them knew they were meant to be together but when something happens, Camryn moves across country to mend her broken heart.
When she comes back to Savannah, Trystan goes out of his way to remind her of the love they had and how the misunderstanding that pushed them apart wasn’t all that she seems.
Trystans love for Camryn is strong and unwavering from the beginning. You can’t help but fall in love with the characters.
