In this work, first published in 1956, one of the nation's leading archivists outlines tested and proved plans and procedures for the adequate management of public records in all areas of federal, state, and local governments.
Glad I read it because I had only read parts of it in grad school. Definitely easy to see where most modern archival theory originates though some things certainly have changed since the 1950s. This book also reinforced my background as a special collections or manuscripts processor, not a records archivist, so it was good to get a solid review of the principles behind governmental archives.
