Yes, this is the second book to this Vakarran Captives series, and I would say go ahead and read the first one since the woman are all connected by being sisters. But you don't have to. I mean they do interconnect in some spots but you won't lose the main parts of this book if you do skip the first book.
I enjoyed this story. I liked the first one a little better but not enough of a difference to take a star away. The ending is what made it a 5 star for me. I loved the ending. :)
Aliana is a strong-willed woman just like her sister Kira but she is also weakened because Kira kept her from doing any hard work out in the "real world" so when Kira goes missing Aliana has to step up and do what needs to be done. But when Aliana captures her first Vakarran she doesn't take all the precautions she should have and gets herself captured.
Ryder, Morgn, Davon, and Aarom find themselves with a rogue sister of Kira's and know that if their boss Nix gets a hold of her, she will never be the same again if she lives through his punishment. So while protecting her the best they can they also train her in submission and being a captive. But it isn't all fun and games. Things get pretty dicey and lives are on the line.
Another great story by Sara and I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us.

BE LIKE KIRA—BE STRONG—DON’T LET THEM BREAK YOU
The story is the second in the Vakarran Captives series but will read well as a stand-alone and is a reverse harem story. The Vakarran is a powerful alien race who need females that are compatible for breeding. One of the downsides of the Vakarran’s is they only produce male offspring. They have conquered and captured many planets, and that has now included Earth. The Stryke sisters, along with a few other humans have managed to hide in a secluded wooded area away from their enemy but Kira Stryke, is missing and next in line, Aliana needs to go out and see if she can find Kira or what happened to her.
The plot will have Aliana going to one of Kira’s hideaways to see if she can view what happened to Kira, and in the process, she will see a Vakarran and trap him, but she ends up being the one snared when his three other comrades capture her. Now she finds herself in the same situation as Kira and must rely on herself and hope for escape.
“You’re a human; you were never meant to be free. It’s your fate to be owned. You need to accept this.”
The four warriors decide that they need to remain on Earth and teach Aliana submission, knowing that the Styke sister’s reputation will have Commander Nix wanted to have her and break her himself. Their goal is to teach her, train her, and have her learn who is dominant and in control.
“I wanted to accept it, but still, I was defiant. I was a Stryke. It was our way. We were fighters. But we were also adaptive.”
While the four Vakarrans take her to an abandoned city, she will have mixed emotions, and she tries to resist their dominance, pain, and pleasure, a heady blend of sadomasochism. They are going to teach her who her masters are and each man has his own proclivities and methods of controlling her.

When another human female, Nina, makes contact, she will give her a way to escape and join the forces of the Resistance. Terrific dark sci-fi story.Sara Fields excels at writing these types of stories. This one is a reverse harem. Alanna is leader of small group of survivors since her sister the original leader went missing. While looking for her sister, she is captured by four Vakarrans. Ryder is the leader, Davon is the sweet one. Aarom is the friend. Morgan is the pain-pleasure master.They plan to breed her. This is the perfect blend of a strong willed woman and dominating men. She learns to submit to her men, take her punishments, and love all of them. Can't wait to read more!!.!

This is the second book in the Vakarran Captives series but it can definitely be read on its own. However, both books are definitely worth reading if you enjoy dark sci-fi. This is a menage romance so expect plenty of steamy scenes with aliens and their captured human. Looking forward to more in this series since there are two other sisters still avoiding capture. Will they avoid capture or will they find happiness with their capture?

I loved this story. Alaina is strong but is she strong enough to submit to 4 Vakarran's? Davon, Ryder, Morgan and Aarom know that she is there's but they also know she is very strong willed. They need to teach her to submit to them but when she makes mistakes, will they give up on her? I don't normally read reverse harem stories but I really like this one by Sara Fields. It has all the elements that I like in a story. Will be waiting for the next one!!!!!

*sighs* give me a good science fiction, dirty alien erotic story and i'll fall in love. When i first took a chance on Sara Fields, i really didn't know what i was getting into. I had read her collaboration with Renee Rose in another Vakarran theme novel and loved it. So when she came out with Vakarran Captive series, i jumped on that book like nobody's business. I couldn't wait to see just how much i would or wouldn't like this book.
Mastered is the second book in this series that i've read and just like the first instalment, i loved this book just as much, if not more! Alaina Stryke, Kira's sister that we met in the previous book, was fascinating. Where i thought her more than a little innocent previously, we finally get a better insight on this girl... or rather woman. Where i thought that Kira's story was slow and picked up speed to the point where it was crash landing by the time you finished (all in a good way), Mastered burned hot from the very beginning and kept me at the edge of my seat.
I couldn't put this book down. I loved every second of it, and one thing is for sure, now that we got a bit more about the remaining sisters, i'm incredibly curious to find out if we'll get their story as well and see whether these sisters are to become a force to reckon with alongside their Vakarran mates - i'm curious to see if they'll manage to make as big an impact on the treatment of the humans in the training camps as they did in their small group of refugees. I can't wait to keep reading this series and know that i'll be keeping a very close eye on this author from now on!

Taking the lead
With each book I fall more in love with these sisters! I love how they are so strong and supportive of each other, and how it takes an equally strong group of males to tame them. This book really threw me for a loop because it seemed like a HEA was not meant to be. But then the author added a thrilling rescue and ending to the story that I had to read it again to make sure I didn’t miss anything important. This book is a fantastic weekend read, and I am looking forward to reading about the rest of the sisters.

The war between the Vakarrans and Earth ended almost before it began. This book was nothing like what I expected. I thought I had everything figured out before I got through the first chapter. I should know by now never to do that with any book, especially one written by Sara Fields! This book blew me away! These characters are superb, so multi-faceted and complex. Their roles are constantly changing. Alaina initially appears as a carbon copy of her sister, Kira. But it's soon evident that Alaina is light years from Kira (and not in distance). She's her own woman with deep wells of strength, and resolve. She won't go quietly or willingly. Yet there's something deeply hidden inside that even Alaina doesn't understand. The Vakarrans are a unit so unique they defy description. Ryder is the leader, clever, wily. So is he a protector or Alaina's worst enemy...or both? Aarom seems kind, understanding. Is he? Davon could be the team's biggest weakness, or is that their hidden strength? And Morgn? Does anyone, even Morgn, know who or what drives him? These characters alone make reading this book a must. But it's the story, Ms. Fields' beautiful words, her captivating twists, turns, somersaults, and roller coaster of emotions, intricately woven with these wonderful characters, that puts Mastered head and shoulders above the rest. I'm obviously not a writer. If I was, I could tell you exactly how this book made me feel. Instead, all I can say is you HAVE to read this book. In my opinion, Sara Fields is, quite simply, a genius. This is her best work yet! Congratulations, Ms. Fields! Mastered deserves every star in the universe!
A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language, intense punishment, and dominant/submissive sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. I cant even tell you how much I loved this series which is a Reverse Harem tale!
The Vakarrans – a Humanoid Alien race consisting of only males. They are huge and muscular and varying shades of purple and they come in sets of four to a Battalion (instant harem). They are highly dominant and expect immediate obedience from the females they claim for breeding and mating purposes. They are also seemingly, sexual gods between the sheets (and other places) – BONUS!
We also have four human sisters who have survived in the wreckage that remains of Occupied Earth. Each sister is getting her own story and her own harem to worship her.
Conquered – Book 1
This is the story of Kira - leader of the unconquered Earth community and eldest of the Stryke sisters. She is captured and tamed by the First Battalion consisting of Commanders Zaavyr, Jax, Coltan and Aedan.
Mastered – Book 2
Here we meet the second Stryke sister, Alaina who is fierce and strong. She is taken and tamed by the Second Battalion consisting of Commanders Davon, Ryder, Morgn and Aarom.
Ravaged – Book 3
This is Danika’s story, our third Stryke sister and she is captured by Third Battalion – Commanders Roan, Taraik, Xandaar and Zac.
Subdued – Book 4
The final instalment in the series is where we meet the youngest Stryke sister Kaela. She is duly captured and tamed by what was once the Fourth Battalion. Commanders Tavik, Valdus, Caleb and Zane. They are now somewhat of a mercenary crew but none less lethal than their Vakarran comrades.
These books are filled with blood, battles, violence and the brutality that comes with being a conquered race. The Vakarrans are essentially a bunch of blokey blokes who clearly don’t believe in equal rights where females are concerned. They rule with dominance and spankings, but they also reward and soothe with the most amazing make up sex, the likes of which will sizzle your Kindle. When you times that by four for each sister’s story… well, do the math. SCORCHING!
These books come with an 18+ rating because of gore and brutality. Also because of the sexually explicit content some of which is dub-con and it contains intimate scenes where the FMC has multiple partners. They are Smoking Hot! Sara Fields is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. I gave this series five stars.

Alaina knows something has happened to her sister Kira. Her sister was their leader and she the second in command. Now she will have to lead them. But she made a mistake. She fell into the Vakarran’s trap. She thought she got over on them but it didn’t turn out that way. Ryder, Morgn, Davon, and Aarom are thrilled at their prize. The rebel leader’s sister is now theirs. They will master her even if it means punishment.
So, if you read the first book, “Conquered” you know what is going on. The Vakarran’s have taken the planet and there are a few rebels that are free. But no human is to be free. Kira and her small band of free humans have been trying to live in hiding. One by one they are caught. Kira was first. Now they have Alaina. Alaina is trying to stay as tough as Kira but she is more afraid of what it to come. I give her credit for trying to stay tough. But these guys had something about them. It’s like, their touch could set you aflame. I have to say if that was real; sign me up. They can conquer not only the mind but the body and boy do they do it well. First off you have the description of how they taste, “Raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries.” I mean come on just reading how they conquered Alaina was like dipping yourself into a pool of chocolate and having them all lick it off. Does that help with the picture? It was that good.
Now beyond that, OMG Morgn, what in the world. WOW! I have read some kinky things but BOY was that turned up passed 10. You would think he was ruthless but he is one heck of a sadist. I mean come on, the level at where we sends Alaina is more then what Kira went through. Ryder was the DOM and leader of the group. We have Davon new and liked to explore. And finally Aarom who was sweet up had a secret wicked side.
Now we need to await the fate of Danika and Kaela. Plus what will Kira say to Alaina when she finds out she too has Vakarrans mates. So much more we need to know. I can’t wait.

While this can be read & enjoyed on its own, I recommend reading or listening to Conquered first. Alaina Becomes A Vakarran Captive
Alaina is no the leader of the rebel refugees and decides she must go see what she can find out about her older sister Kira, who has gone missing. Four aliens capture Alaina as she is searching for Kira and her fate is sealed. Ryder, Morgn, Davon and Aarom take possession of Alaina and start her training as soon as possible, knowing they will have to report that they have a human and their superior Nix, a really nasty bad guy will want to test her to see if she is truely a submissive slave. It is very possible that Alaina won't survive a meeting with Nix. The Vakarrans take Alaina to the abandoned old City of Atlanta, and find a tall building with a deserted penthouse suite to stay in while their training of Alaina takes place. Alaina is used by her four captors and taught the many ways she can expect to be used and abused. Things don't go the way Alaina thought when she escapes and lands in the hands of some very dispicable humans, using the women they capture as their sex slaves. There are a lot of tense moments as Alaina goes from leader of the refugees, to captive possession of Aliens, then victim of human low lives. Now she’s whisked away from her younger sisters and her freedom, to become the breeder for four Vakarran males. Her road to submission is filled with deep emotions and budding trust, but when given a chance to escape, will she run or trust her heart to stay?
Oh my, this book was very intense, dark at times, but filled with passion, longing, and enough spark of rebellion to keep everything interesting! I absolutely loved Alaina! She was so courageous, so protective, and so beautifully mastered by her men. Ryder, Davon, Aarom, and Morgn were extremely dominant, endearing, curious, and a little dark, but I loved how quickly they wanted and needed Alaina in their life. Each male was very different, but each of them fulfilled a need in Alaina that so well completed and complimented each other in their relationship. I loved the plot line, and the ending was especially thrilling! It was so interesting to see what other factions of humans were doing. This book had me hooked from the very beginning and I think I held my breath through every training scene! While you don’t need to read the first book in this series to understand Mastered, I definitely recommend this series and this book to any lover of a dark romance!

I'm loving this new series by Sara Fields!! This is Alaina and her Vakarran's story and we met her sister Kira in book 1, Conquered. The Vakarrans invaded Earth several years ago, and eligible women are now used for breeding. Alaina has taken over as head of the Resistance since her sister Kira has gone missing, and when she goes out to look for Kira, she leaves 2 younger sisters and the people that follow behind. She is captured by She's subsequently captured by 4 Vakarran warriors, who immediately claim her as their own. I loved this story, but the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is for one scene. *******SPOILER ALERT******** One of the Vakarrans, Morgn, the sternest of all of them, drags her to a river and proceeds to push her head under the water and hold her there a few times to try to get her to submit to them and call them Master, and while it's only the 3rd dunk that she panics and feels like she needs air and is promptly pulled up fire, unfortunately this particular scene didn't sit well with me. (I can almost see where the guys are coming from. They fear that the cruel commander that they report to will claim her and make an example of her because of her sister being a wanted woman. They can see Alaina's fire and feel their only recourse is train her to be obedient to them.) That being said I do really like this book and think it's a great addition to the series! I look forward to seeing what's next!!

Off I go and back to a world that I don't want to live in, but maybe I can visit some Vakarrans for a little while? Just a day or two? Sara Fields writes this kind of alien scifi RH stuff so well. I'm pretty sure that we should just give her a crown for it. I always look forward to what she's come up with next.

After her older sister went missing, Alaina knew that something had happened, and she decided to go find out. She left her younger sisters in charge of their brave little band and snuck off to the command center. There she was able to set a trap for a Vakarran so that she could question him as to where her sister was. The only problem is that Davon, the youngest member on the second battalion team, managed to turn the tables on her and get his teammates Ryder, Morgn, and Aarom to capture her and let him free.
I like Alaina. She keeps trying to measure herself up to her sister, but she is really impressive in her own right. She's a fierce warrior and has had to be. I am just so impressed with her and her guts. I also liked her men, especially how each of them were so different and handled her differently.

Sara Fields takes me completely out of my comfort zone and I think that is why I enjoy these dark, reverse harems! Alaina is setting out to find her sister who has been kidnapped by the Vakarran. Now she too is captured by 4 Vakarran, and finds out they are nothing like what she expects. These 4 men start her training right away, and the 5 of them fall in love. Protecting Alaina at all costs, these 4 men are willing to give their lives, but will they have to? Does Alaina find her sister? This is a hot, passionate story, full of stereotypes, they all have to get past what they perceive to be true and find their reality. I loved the chemistry, and especially the different personalities of each Vakarran. With the different traits, it's easy to see how Alaina falls for them and can understand what happened to her sister. The question now is what will happen next? Looking forward to book 3!
Heather Firth does a fabulous job with the narration of this erotic sci fi story! I love that she has a different male voice for each Vakarran and it's easy to tell which on it is. With so many POV's that could be difficult, but she flows through the performance with ease. It's rich, emotional, hot and an all around great listen! Can't ask for a better portrayal!

This is the next book in the Vakarrans series and tells the story of Kira;s sister, Alaina. Kira has been missing for a long time and Alaina decides to try to find out what happened to her. She goes to one place that has the camera equipment and watches the video feed and discovers her sister was captured. Then she watches as a Vakarran wanders towards a trap and decides to let him live so that she can get info from him. Devon talks to her and tells her about her sister and as she is ready to shoot him, a gun is put to her head by Ryder and he has Morgn and Aarom. They take her to master her as their breeder. They begin her training on the way to the breeder center. When they enter there is an earth woman being beaten and she asks the warriors with her to help her. They help then go to their quarters. The next day the five of them leave for Atlanta so that they can begin training her. This begins a battle that Alaina fight within herself. But it also makes the four Vakarrans realize something also. Life gets complicated for them all.

She was captured by a team of four warriors who told her that she was now theirs to train as their mate and submissive breeder, but as long as she was obedient to her masters she would be well treated but refuse to do their bidding and she would be severely punished. Alaina had not survived free for so long without learning to defend herself and only waited until she had a chance to escape. This was an interesting story with steamy loves scenes and angry out burst as Alaina and her four mates form an unbroken partnership. This was the second book I have read in the series and I look forward to reading more.

Alaina fears her sister Kira has been captured by the Vakarran's. Leaving her two younger sisters with their small band of humans in hiding, she sets out to learn what she can. Finding her sisters computer, her worst fears are confirmed. She takes a chance at learning more when she finds a loan Vakarran warrior in one of her sisters traps, only to find her self captured by his three partners.
Ryder the leader and protecor, Morgn the brooding sadist, Aarom, the thoughtful analyst, and Devon, the youngest, a brilliant mind and a sense of humor. They are thrilled to find a female they can claim as theirs. When they learn her relationship to Kira, they know their leader will destroy her if he gets his hands on her. Their only chance is to make her into the perfect submissive breeder.
Good story. Elements of BDSM, multiple partners, forced submission, and corporal punishment/domestic discipline. Can be read as a stand alone, reading Kira's story, Captive, does give better understanding of the Vakarran culture.

After Conquered I knew I would enjoy more books from Sara Fields but wasn’t sure what Mastered would present. I have not been disappointed. At first I was hoping for more to how Alaina finds herself in Vakarran hands. However, that small amount of disappointment was short lived when I was loving and hating the Quad in equal measures. The way of the Vakarrans is frustrating but the reminder that although a race can have disposable rules not all of them will approve of them. It’s hard to fight a ruling planet from light years away.
Sara Fields maddeningly creates an environment where you can feel the slavery through her words and as a result are acutely aware of all the good things that occur. But she also has you thoroughly falling in love with the Vakarrans and can’t help but swoon at their tenderness. I thought I’d grown attached to them at 30%, by the end of the book I was enthralled.
Amazing story writing once again and crikey the heat just kept rising!

A great story that will hook you with its attention to detail. This story will hold your interest to the end! Alaina takes over the leadership role when her older sister gets caught by the alien invaders. There are a lot of emotional and expositional components at the beginning and it drags a little, but then it totally picks up. The story moves steadily, you think Alaina will catch a break, but then, no, not so much. There are some really heavy, dark parts during her training, the thing with Morgn and the hook thingy was mind boggling to my imagination, like, what was that thing anyway? Then the story twists again and she screws things up and puts herself in danger. The story is intense and full of hot sexual scenes but also emotional bonding. I didn't like how the ending had a few loose ends. Like, what happened to Nina and the girls? and the ending was kind of abrupt, but all in all, it was a really good component in this series and I hope there will be more to follow!

In training her, they fall in love with her. Alaina tries hard to think she is sacrificing herself to save her family and rescue her sister. But during her training, she falls in love with her 4 captors.
I stayed up all night to read this book. It is the second in a series. But it can be read alone. It is steamy hot once the training starts. It is action packed from the first page. There is something for everyone wrapped into the pages of this book. It is a must read. I cannot wait for the next in the series.

Where do I begin? the second book in the Vakarran series is amazing! Four super hot aliens, one strong, feisty human, and lots of super hot and Dominant sex! Alaina Stryke, Younger sister of Kira, is determined to find out what happened to her beloved sister, unfortunately, her quest puts her in the sights and very hot hands of four very hot Vakarran warriors. Ryder. Morgn, Aarom and Davon. Battle hardened warriors who never thought they would find the one female fated to be theirs. Five lost and lonely souls on a collision course, with fate holding all the cards. Expect twists and turns, Hot Domination, sexy love scenes and a happily ever after that will blow you away! Sara Fields completely knocked this one out of the park. A book that makes you believe that love conquers all and spankings can be a really good thing!

I personally love PNR and was hoping I would enjoy the alien aspect- rest assured, I did! I would LOVE to read more by Sara! I plan to explore her other works. I enjoyed the characters, the chemistry, and the story found in these pages. It was a great read!
Narration- Heather Firth's voice was perfect for this! I love the quality! She has a wonderful talent for giving you a deep, masculine male voice and still providing a wonderful female voice as well. Most are great at one but not the other. I thought both voices were great and matched the characters well. Highly enjoyable, clean editing and clear narration.

This is the second book in the Vakarran Captives Series. You should read the Publisher's Note before listening to this Sci-Fi Aliens Dark Romance. The story includes dark scenes, and D/s scenes. Mastered is a great addition to the Series. The story can be listened as a standalone, but for a better understanding you should listen to the first book in the Series before. This Sci-Fi/Aliens Dark Romance, and Reverse Harem is captivating, suspenseful, and really hot! Alaina’s Story is as great as Kira's Story. Her Alien captors, Ryder, Morgan, Aarom and Davon, are strong, dominant, and handsome! Heather Firth did an amazing and an outstanding job with the narration! She has a beautiful voice, and a great male voice! This Series is definitely out of my comfort zone for the dark scenes, but I like it! Now, I can't wait for the next books in the Series.

Vakarran Captives Book Two.
Now that her sister has been missing for two weeks, Aliana Stryke knows she must venture out to Kira's lookout station to see what happened. Aliana is dismayed to find that Kira was taken by the Vakarrans. When the alarms begin to go off, showing that a lone Vakarran is wandering towards a pit trap, Aliana decides to capture him and force him to tell her where Kira is. After Davon is trapped in the pit, Aliana threatens him with her gun, only to find herself the captive of Davon's three compatriots, Ryder, Morgn and Aarom. She is offered a hope at escape when a woman sneaks onto the Vakarran ship to give her a message, but can Aliana trust her any more than she can trust these aliens?

"I'd found love in the place I'd never expected it."
I love this quote by Alaina Stryke. Davon, Ryder, Morgn, and Aarom are the perfect Vakarran mates for our herione. Alaina is tough and strong. Her only weakness is her men.
I couldn't get enough of this enemies to lovers story. Alaina, in her own time and way, submitted to the men she loved. The men came to care, want, and possess the woman they loved. This book was hot with lots of action, but what I truly loved was the emotional entanglements. The "whys" and "hows" of Alaina falling for her men and them for her. Ultimately, that is what I really liked about Mastered. Sara Fields did a beautiful job riding the line between developing feelings and sexual attraction.
