Divided Control

Rate this book
It’s been months since Amy last saw James…months since she’s felt the aching pleasure of his touch. In that time, she’s achieved a measure of her own success, but is she truly living her life fully? Or has she taken a page from James’ old book, hiding behind work while denying her true needs?

The physical wounds of one fateful night six months ago have healed, but James’ irrepressible need for control continues to cut deep. His heart resides with Amy, but the headstrong beauty could never be a full-time submissive. His need to have her is great…but his need to protect proves greater, when a shadowy figure from his past returns.

This next chapter in James and Amy’s journey will test the couple’s emotions—and control—to the max.

Nestled in the tranquil rural landscape near London, I'm a British author whose journey from the world of accounting to the realm of writing has been nothing short of transformative. While I occasionally revisit my numbers-oriented past, my days are predominantly filled with the harmonious dance between crafting compelling narratives and tending to my cherished family—my husband, two children, and a lively household of four cats and one dog
.
In those rare leisure moments, you'll find me lost in the enchanting world of poetry, delighting in the creation (and indulgence) of decadent cakes or fervently capturing moments through the lens of my camera.

Writing emerged as my beacon of hope in navigating the labyrinth of depression and anxiety. My insatiable love for literature and the boundless horizon of travel infuses my tales with the rich tapestry of my adventures. I strive to breathe life into my stories with an air of authenticity that resonates with readers.

Within the pages of my books, you'll encounter heroes exuding charisma and rugged allure, heroines embodying both grace and tenacity, all enveloped in the cloak of dramatic suspense.

Part two of this series starts out 6 months after the cliffhanger and this author has hit her stride in this continuation story.

There is definitely a change in the authors writing from book one. She is more at ease and the words seem to flow a bit better. Hot, sexy scenes with a several tastes of D/s to build anticipation. While James and Amy are continuing to develop their relationship, they are also experimenting sexually and finding out more and more secrets about each other.

The author spices up this story with a splash of suspense in a crime spree and a hot club scene that include a FFM menage. Our little Miss Amy has some hot ideas in her pretty head. And James loves dominating her. Delicious!

This book is a spicy read that has the ability to raise your temperature a few degrees. With an engaging mix of action, suspense, romance, bdsm, menage, and more going on, there is little time for boredom. Oh, and let's not forget a sweet HEA too!

Definitely read book 1 first though for the full effect!

Ever had a book that makes you react so strong? Ever had a book that makes you darn excited that all you want to do is shout from the heavens and praise the heck out of this book? Ever had a book that leaves a good impression on you? Well, Divided Control certainly left a huge last impression on me. It was every single bit of goodness rolled in a piece of literature that had me captivated and totally addicted. Wow, I loved Divided Control so much that I definitely had a big smile on my face when I finished reading it.

Divided Control is the second continuation of James and Amy's story. You have to read Surrendered Control. I was blown away by the story. Anna Edwards definitely outdid herself. She took this story to another level and I was just enthralled. Divided Control really brought to life the story of letting go, moving on and just simply being who you are in life. It is also about being comfortable in one's sexuality. It was definitely portrayed so effortless and flawless. I loved that it took me to a journey. Divided Control definitely had some build up tension and intensity that simply gave an interesting dynamic. It gave me some shivers but yet still have a unique essence that was truly unforgettable. I was even surprised by the magnitude of nail biting action and suspense that got my heart beating so fast with excitement. So beautifully written and artistically executed. My mind was in a bender but in a good way.

James and Amy are such a lovely couple with such amazing banter and off the charts chemistry. I loved that as a couple they kept developing together as equals and getting stronger. It was such a unique journey. You could see that they were BDSM couple but there was just something so different and refreshing. There were more than a couple playing a role as dominant and submissive but they were couple that just fitted so well together. James definitely grew as a character. From being so secretive, he was able to let Amy in. I loved that. Amy really developed that amazing strength that made me love her so much. I love this couple.

Divided Control is a phenomenal read. I love this series. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

James and Amy are back and hotter than ever! Holy cow...this book was sooo good! I love the chemistry between James and Amy and how they both seem to know what the other one needs. This book had just the right amount of drama and sex. Amy knows how to balance James out because he definitely has control issues. She stands up to him and doesn't take any crap from him. I really liked this about her in this book because I think he needed that and she needed to be her own person. I love the twists in the plot in this book because they were a little unexpected and kept you on your toes. I thought the BDSM aspects were very well written and erotic...again showcasing James and Amy's chemistry together. Loved it!

Glad I kept going with the next book, especially since their were no distracting, weird contractions in this one.

It was great to see the continuation of Amy and James' relationship. I think she caved a bit too easily, but things were better from that point on in their relationship.

I received this book for an honest review.

This is the second book in the control series.

I enjoyed this book a lot. The author knows how to give detail that is for sure. But I did feel that some of the scenes could have been played out a little more when we heard a lot of detail in the 1St part of the scene. On the other hand it did keep me wanting more and not wanting to put the book down.

I do hope this author keeps going and can't wait for more of her work.

Book Two picks up where book one left off. Six months later, Amy has opened her dance school, since last seeing James, it has been months since she is felt the aching pleasure of his time, but in that time, she has achieved her own measure of success, but to what extent, hiding behind work whilst denying her true needs.
Her friend Elena convinces Amy to join her for a night out, she reluctantly goes clubbing, much to her detriment, where suddenly she is confronted by James, but James ‘s irrepressible need for control continues to cut deep. When a brief interlude brings up old feelings, there sexual frustration clashing, Amy walks away much to James’s confusion.
Not leaving her, after passing out, James takes up residence on a sofa for the night, when Amy discovers that he stayed, for her, she is beginning to understand him and the subtle changes that he is making within himself. His need to have her is great, but his need to protect her proves greater, when a shadowy figure from his past returns, including his father.
Amy agrees to rekindle her and James’s relationship, but only through an agreed set of rules made up by them, James reluctantly agrees. His heart resides with Amy, whilst they continue to grow in their relationship, they are also experimenting sexually finding out more secrets about each other. He knows that the headstrong beauty could never be a full-time submissive.
It is during his sister’s wedding, during a sexual interlude, that James and Amy get re-engaged.
When Amy asserts her own independence and control in their relationship, James begins to see another side of Amy, one that he has never seen before. It is during a trip to Vegas, that she begins to learn the elements of BDSM, her role as a submissive and James’s role as a dominant, it is there that she also learns that Matthew and Sonia, and Grayson and Sophie, all share the same lifestyle as James.
On New Year’s Eve night, Amy gets her first taste of the BDSM lifestyle, when she fails to follow the rules set out by James, he has Matthew and Grayson dole out punishment, which turns Amy on. Afterwards, Amy’s jealousy spikes when she sees James talking to another woman, which Amy finds out is Mistress Alexia.
Fantasy come to life James, and Alexia through James’s instruction, give Amy the most erotic, sexually charged, and pleasurable night of her life. James loves dominating Amy, especially with the hot ideas that float through her little head. He has created a devilish little minx, and he love it.
Unbeknownst to James, Amy convinces Sonia and Matthew to take her out, so she can surprise James with a tattoo, to symbolise her love for him. Matthew reluctantly agrees, allowing Sonia to act as her escort. With their task complete Amy and Sonia are kidnapped. James’s past coming back to bite him tenfold.
Having been kidnapped by a delusion cult leader, Amy, already knowing of James’s past and what happened to him, attempts to defend his actions, fighting tooth and nail to get free. Only when they do, Sonia is injured, not willing to leave her she goes back. James, Matthew, and Grayson come to the rescue, ending in death and bloodshed. James is happy to have Amy back in his arms, as is Matthew with Sonia.
After everything, Amy is adamant that she and James marry, Grayson informing them that Sophie will have everything sorted to a T within 24hrs. As everything flows, James finally has an honest conversation with his mother Miranda and father Pete, truths coming to light, together they work to make amends for their future.
There wedding was magical, with there family and friends by there side, there wedding night filled with filthy dirty talk, deliciously, hot, dirty, and naughty, and in the end their life is complete with the impending arrival of their child.
The action, suspense, romance and BDSM is off the charts. James grew as a character; it was nice to see that he was able to finally let Amy in. It also showed the amazing strength that Amy developed, it helped her character grow and flourish, allowing Amy to stand up to James and not take any crap from him.
Those s€x scenes in and out of the bedroom, including that MFF scene was downright sensual and erotic, the language and dirty talk was filthy and such a turn on, dark, provocative, naughty, twisted, forbidden, emotional, wrong, intense, captivating, deliciously wicked, dirty, hot, steamy, passionate, possessive, powerful, wet, dominating and ferociously wild.
Such a roller coaster of emotions, a page turner, fast paced you literally will not be able to put it down. This author clearly knows how to write, a very beautifully written story with our favourite characters, exploring dark and intense themes that will have you saying what the f@#$. Readers will be ensnared from the get-go, and it will have you coming back for more. There happily ever after was perfect, as if I could have written it myself. And if you thought this author was done, she is not, so hold on as we anticipate what book three will bring us.

Loving Control: Novella
We get to see James and Amy living their life in wedded domestic bliss. Amy heavily pregnant with there child, she has become demanding and bossy, with James inferring that he is the dominant and she the submissive but is more than happy to cater to her needs to save face.
Then Amy asks James to play, for fear of hurting her, he acquiesces, taking control of her pleasure, there lovemaking becoming more urgent, rough, and animalistic, they both realise that this is something they both needed.
Then the next thing they know they are on their way to the hospital to have their baby. Welcoming their beautiful baby boy Thomas Matthew North. Afterward, James comes to the realisation that he somehow put Amy and Thomas in danger, and he is not willing for it to happen again.
With James back at work Amy is feeling neglected sexually, having surprised her husband and work, standing naked, she is ready to get down and dirty behind closed doors, but James is not playing the game Amy wants to play, demanding to have him, but James is onto her, as a punishment he spanks her, finding that she is enjoying herself, he leaves her cold – ouch!
Then James’s past comes back to bite him, when he is met by a doctor who is treating his ex-girlfriend, Colette. Having attempted to hurt herself, she is now seeking treatment, but has requested to speak to James, for her to move on and recover, forcing the doctor out, James is undecided as to what to do next, taking Matthew’s advice, he heads home to speak to Amy.
Speaking to Amy of his meeting with the doctor and of Colette, together they make an informed decision and go to visit her. A conversation ensues between Amy and Colette, but at the mention of Amy’s book sends Colette into a tailspin, lashing out at Amy, the meeting ends, however they are informed that Amy has gotten more out of Colette then any other doctor preceding her. Concerned for Amy’s welfare, James denies any further visits.
Realising that Amy has made headway with Colette, James refuses to see reason, lashing out, James says the wrong, in the moment, causing Amy to react and leave. What ensues is a drinking session between James and Matthew. Sonia comes back for Matthew, besting Matthew, Sonia gives James some home truths, realising that he has not been communicating properly with his wife, he sets about making things right between them.
James and Amy have that all important conversation, each airing out there worries and concerns, with James realises that there was no need for him to have been so worried and or concerned to begin with. Once all is said and done Amy wants James like before, leaving his parents to babysitting duties, he takes himself and Amy to hotel where they can have some alone time together, to reacquaint themselves with one another.
Not taking it easy, James takes Amy hard, fast, and raw, his dominance taking a possessive hold over her, giving themselves over to each other and the pleasures that they have both missed. Using what is at his disposal, he takes Amy two more times during the night, realising the love he has for him wife, he is not likely to forget what she could take from him.
Back on the same page, they reconcile with the fact of going to see Colette, not wanting to see reason, James just wants to keep her in the past, move on, focus on Thomas, there relationship, there future. Amy offers a suggestion that may work in Colette’s favour; however, the conversation takes a turn and Amy suggests, which James responds to, excited about the prospect of getting an adult playroom, instigating that she is the best wife ever.
During there visit with Colette, Amy makes a breakthrough, allowing Colette to finally open about the way her brothers made her feel, after she confessed to them what she did with James. In the end, James does right by Colette, providing her with provisions to help set her up for her future, ensuring she get the help she needs to deal with the trauma she has endured.
Afterwards, James leaves Matthew to mind Thomas, whilst he takes Amy to their playroom. Once in the playroom, the sexual banter flows between them, she then admits that she had improper thoughts about another man whilst writing her new book, he then fastens her to the St. Andrews Cross where he doles out his punishment on her body, taking her to pleasurable heights of ecstasy. Both blissfully happy with there forever after.

I cannot tell you how much I loved the second novel in the Control series, Divided Control! Trying not to give any spoilers, at the beginning of this novel Amy has converted the club into a Dance school and is living in a small apartment above in the same building. Trying to move on, although still in love with James, Amy is just going through the motions each day. A chance encounter at a dance club one night reunites James and Amy and he drives her home. They quickly realize that they don’t want to be apart, but Amy has rules of her own this time about how much control they each will have in the relationship.

Amy does a lot of growing in a short period of time between books 1 and 2, standing up for herself and being more assertive. However, she is still madly in love with James and quickly displays the love and passion that she feels for him. James has been pining away for Amy since she walked out of his hospital room and has also done some growing of his own, realizing that he can’t be as controlling as he has been if he wants the woman he loves. He’s still super protective but agrees to back off a bit in the ways that Amy requests. They have a lot of wonderful experiences together in this novel, but there is also a very suspenseful twist while they are in Las Vegas, just adding to the excitement of the story.

The author provides a deeper look into Matthew and Sonia this time, as well as, introduces the reader to James’ sister, Sophie and her fiance Grayson. Also making an appearance back in their lives is James’ Dad Peter. I liked getting to know each of these characters better, although once they were in Vegas I was sort of surprised about the dynamics between them all.

In my review of Book 1, Surrendered Control I mentioned that at times I felt the dialogue was too choppy and too formal, however, I did not have that impression at all while reading Divided Control. Anna Edwards’ writing and dialogue flowed wonderfully allowing me to just get lost in the story. She pushed the limits of both James and Amy in this novel and it made their love story just that much better. I believe there will be another installment about James and Amy and I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on it. This is definitely my new, favorite book couple so I hope there will be more adventures to come! I loved, loved, loved this book and highly recommend this book, of course, starting with Book 1.

Divided Control (The Control Series Book 2) by Anna Edwards
Next book in The Control Series picks up 6 months after book 1. Let me just say that I was extremely sad after book 1 and was eager to see where this went in book 2. I was not disappointed.
Amy has turned the strip club into a dance studio to teach her students and she has not reconciled with James yet. As you can imagine I was really unhappy they split.
Slowly James is able to get back into Amy’s life when there is a catastrophe at the dance studio and there is water everywhere which will cause a fortune to fix. Amy calls on James to help.
James in the meantime has been struggling with the demons from his past and wonders if it is for the best they are not together. As the story progresses Sophie, James sister, is getting married and has asked Amy to be a bridesmaid. In book one we learn that James’ father has come back into his life and has complicated the mix.
This book is similar to book 1 where you don’t go through the same rise and fall of the characters. There are several of those points in Anna’s book which caused this reader to be on the edge of her seat just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Will they stay together, will there be trust again? Wow so much going on. Oh and let’s throw in a trip to Las Vegas the city of sin.
While in Vegas she learns that dominate/sub is a life style for the family and the body guards. What will Amy think of that? Does she submit? Do they get married and stay together? Do they split forever? Will the family be whole with James’ father? So many question and none of them are going to be answered in this review. There would not be any fun for a reader if I were to spill the beans.
The writing style Anna has will keep you turning the pages to see what twists happen next. At the same time, I will tell you the story flow easily and can definitely be true life scenario. This book has the same excitement as book 1 and has kidnapping, murder, twisted morals and unexpected beginnings for a dark past.
You will not be disappointed in the second book of this series and highly recommend you to read.

This is the second book in the Control series, and wow it holds nothing back.

We join Amy and James again for another thrill ride. Six months have passed for Amy after walking away from James in the last book, and Amy is getting her life together, missing James's presence but throwing herself in to making her school work. James has thrown himself into work and kept his promise not to keep an eye on her, not to interfere in any way. But a chance meeting in a night club sets the wheels in motion for these two.

We join them on their ride of rediscovery, meeting in the process James's father, and learning what really happened to make him leave, we meet his glamorous sister and her movie star husband, who have little secrets of their own, also along for the ride the long suffering Matthew and Sonia.

We go from London to the countryside of Kent, then jaunt to Las Vegas, where we learn interesting, exciting, naughty, secrets. And Amy gets introduced to a whole new side of sexuality pertaining to BDSM.
We also face a crazed and determined person from James past, who will turn everything upside down and put both Amy and Sonia's lives in grave danger.

Anna Edwards has done a fantastic job with this second book in the series and I loved reading it and her introducing new characters and a new villain. The sex is off the charts in new ways and you don't want to put the book down till the end, even then you want more. Cannot wait for Matthew and Sonia's book, they deserve a book of their own to explore their side of the story and how they became a couple.

I definitely recommend reading this series and hope we get a little more sneak peaks at the life of James and Amy.

An amazing end to the story.

I read this book straight after reading the first one as I needed to know how their life would pan out. I was not left disapointed either. Anna writes well and kept me interested throughout. Which can be a hard thing to do when going straight into the next book.

I love the characters in the book. Some old and some new. I really like the relationship between James and Matthew. It is one of true friendship and loyalty.

This book follows James and Amy after their split. Will Amy be able to forgive James' controlling ways. Even if it is just to keep her safe.

Maybe the need to be able to track her at anytime is what could potentially save her.

When people from james' past come back into his life, are they their for the right reasons or will they be there to bring him down?

I am looking forward to reading Matthew and Sonia's story. There is just something about him thay I need to find out the answers too.

Anna Edwards did an amazing job on this follow up to Surrendered Control. It is intensely emotional and a definite page-turner. I absolutely loved the progression of the characters and not just the main characters, the author made sure to provide depth to even secondary characters.

This book is about more than romance. It is about finding oneself and accepting it. It is about facing demons and moving on. I highly admire Anna Edwards for being able to respect the BDSM lifestyle and show acceptance and understanding. I believe that is highly important. Plus those scenes were amazing! Especially the MFF scene in the club—so hot!

I loved seeing the push/pull in the relationship between James and Amy. Often romances with billionaires in it can be predictable—this is not. Amy is strong enough to stand on her own and the author showed significant respect to each character. I am looking forward to reading more of this series! Highly recommend!

This is the conclusion of Amy and James story. It starts six months after the infamous safe word incident. When they deal with the outcome of what happened and why Amy and James become the unit they want to be. But when they think all is good that's when James past comes back to destroy what they have.

Love this book

I, absolutely, love this book. In fact, I'm a fan of the anything that Anna writes. In this book particularly you can't help but fall in love with the characters. James and Amy have a whirlwind romance with a happy ending. James is so broken and Amy frees him from his past demons.
Definitely, a book that people should read.

This is book 2 in the Control Series and continues where Surrendered Control left off. Anna Edwards hit it out of the ball park again with this sequel!! In the first book Amy leaves James but a chance encounter at a night club brings them back together hotter than ever. This was another well written book by Anna Edwards and I'm looking forward to Book 3 Misguided Control.

I was gifted an ARC and I am leaving an honest review.

A Great Continuation!

This the second book in the Control series. I highly recommend reading the first book in the series, Surrender Control before diving into this one. It will give you a more well rounded understanding of the characters and just how far they'd come. That being said, I enjoyed this story. I was overjoyed to get the continuation of James and Amy's story. It still had the great pace and heat as the first book making this one a quick and easy read as well.

At the end of the first book, things weren't going so well. Amy was still trying to rebuild her dance school and James, well he was being James. The guy has a short fuse but you got to love him because it is all coming from a good place. I loved Amy's strength. She displayed it when James needed it most and he for her. The balance in their relationship was a beautiful thing to read and experience. When they first met, Amy was lonely and James was broken but through their love for each other, they were able to guide each other to the light.

I loved all the characters in this book. From the main characters, James and Amy to the side characters Matthew, Sonia, Sophie, Grayson, Miranda and Pete. Their interactions with these characters was telling in how far they had come. In the first book their interactions were intense and distant but became jovial and familial in the second book.

I don't believe this is the last we've read of James and Amy. I think their story will continue. I can't wait for that book and also Matthew and Sonia's story. I think there is a really good story there as well.

The second book in the Control Series and better than the first. Crime, multifaceted erotica and romance all in one book. This new author improves with each piece of written work. Starting 6 months after the first book ended it travels with James and Amy through a chance encounter in a club to a Stately home in Yorkshire and thence to Las Vegas for some BDSM and the odd kidnapping or two including a real cliff hanger near the end of the story but even after that there is more to come before .... well read the book to find out! ;-)
