Tristans's roommate is moving out. Not a big deal as he's pretty useless in regards to holding up his share of the agreement, however, he's doing so without any notice and right before rent is due. Jerk. Thankfully, shortly after that her best friend, Kylie, informs her that Jayson, her boyfriend's friend, is moving to town and needs a place. Kylie assures her Kash is trustworthy and a good guy. When they meet, Tristan is instantly attracted...
...and the feeling is mutual. Kash just needs a place for a while until it's time to move on again. His focus is, and has been for years, his fighting. He has no time for anything else, but Tristan is the first woman to make him question that resolve in a very long time. Kash, though his feelings for Tristan grow every day, believes he's not good enough for her, that his past broke something in him, hence, his need for violence.
Kash and Tristan build a solid friendship, though both want so much more, and try to adhere to the unspoken rules of keeping it that way. But when Tristan is assaulted and Kash saves her, things change. And do again when Tristan accidentally stumbles upon what Kash does for a living. But instead of being disgusted or scared like both assumed, she's turned on.
While Kash and Tristan adjust to this new dynamic, and finally begin exploring their intense chemistry, he continues to struggle with his doubts about the happiness they could have. Not in himself, per se, but as to if he can give Tristan what she deserves.
But as they're unable to stay apart, and danger once again comes calling for Tristan, Kash realizes she's meant to be his and nothing will stand in their way of being together, not even himself.
Can Kash accept that Tristan loves him as he is? Can Tristan convince Kash he's exactly who she wants? What happens when Tristan is in danger? Can Kash rescue her once again? Is a HEA possible?
One-click now and follow along as two people are thrown together due to circumstances and discover a love that can't be defeated. This is a safe book, for those concerned. Kash has been celibate for years and it's implied Tristan has as well, though for how long it wasn't said. There is no om/ow drama (nor scenes) at all. I'm curious about the next story, Adrian's, as we get a small glimpse of the setup for his. I hope it's safe as well.
