Summary: Quiet

Rate this book
Quiet: is a book written by a former lawyer and a negotiations consultant. During one of her interviews, Cain explained reasons for her writing the book. In one of her interviews, Cain stated that she got inspired by something that can be called as a mixture of passion and indignation, something that also inspired a writer named Betty Friedan when she wrote her book The Feminine Mystique.
Cain related with Friedan’s book saying that many introverts have more or less the same problems just as women of that time had. Thus, Cain continues and says that there is a big problem that has spread through many cultures, especially through Western culture and that problem is connected with widely favoring extroverted persons, while at the same time overlooking the potential of introverted people. This, as Cain says, often leads to great waste of many potential, energy and happiness and that there is something that each of us can do to prevent that from spreading even more.
Quiet is definitely an interesting literature to read, which offers rather deep and objective overlook on the situation regarding how introverts are treated until today. Cain’s book is now available and had influenced many people in colleges, high schools, in business and it is already visible that Quiet is a book about something that is real and that concerns us all and that all of us should read.
