Kindle Unlimited, this is as it appears to be, and if you happened to have read each of them individually then you could pass on this one, but when it's a 2 or 3 set there still tends to be extra information that wasn't in any of the individual books, see quite a bit below {there's been lot of books out so far} under R section for Roman, there's also gods, etcetera for these and more

This is pretty great book with a flaw.

Strengths: Readability. I never read a line I couldn’t fully grasp, never met a paragraph I didn’t fully understand, and never met a chapter that wasn’t fully readable. For all. I could give this book to anyone and they’d be able to get something out of it. From it’s interesting narration, to the wonder it makes you feel through reading Roman history, it’s quite hooking, making it easier for short attention span readers to continue through.

Weakness: The one weakness this book has is it’s confusing timeline. While I bragged about the readability earlier, that really means nothing if you can’t remember what you just read. This book goes back and forth in time, making it difficult to interpret the series of events.

Excellent synopsis. Well organized, smoothly presented, and easy to read. There are some errors better editing would have helped. There is some clear bias and distortion in the "Byzantine Empire" section and some key events are left out of the series. But for an approachable overview, this is very good.

A very useful compilation of Roman history, and a good short summary of all of Roman history. Would recommend for anyone either interested in Roman history or who wants a brief read to supplement a class.

Too gimmicky to warrant five stars, but it conveys enough information competently enough for four. This is my first read in regards to the Roman Republic, which while interesting just doesn't compare to the all out opulence of the empire.

Short and good history of Rome. Amazing that they were able to get the Roman Republic, the Roman Empire, and the Byzantine empire into just over 200 pages.
