I’m finding this series incredibly addictive. My only real complaint has been the nonstop chaos and never ending drama. I just wanted the characters to get a break.

That said this is the first book I’ve been disappointed in. I was bored to tears with the build-up to and the Reckoning itself. So bring back the nonstop crazy I won’t complain about it again.

Oh, this one was all about consequences! About Monty wanting to connect a smith bridge to TK and the reckoning that he must endure, and about the death of Cassandra and his father's grief and his wish to avenge her.

There are dragons, and demigods, and cursed cars. And, well, lots of destruction, too. We're talking about Simon and Monty, so that is to be expected *laughs*

Although I guess this book should have a warning for vegetarians, what with the hungry hellhound and his unrelenting need for meat XD

Like every book in this series: fun, entertaining and really, really good!

Love the characters and their interactions. The relationship between Simon, Monty and the ever meat loving Peaches is great fun to read. There is still the same degree of “snark” in the writing style, even though the themes are a little more thought provoking and challenging in this book. can’t wait for the next one...more please!!

Dragons and Demigods picks up with the results of everyone's actions in the last book Homecoming. Monty must answer for trying to connect a smith bridge to TK and George Rott is out to revenge his daughter Cassandra's death by a dragon.
When Simon and Monty are ask to stop George Rott their investigation results start showing that there is more going on then meets the eye. We are taken on a journey in truly spectacular fashion. Oh the places they take us! We get dragons, mages,Peaches, Simon and demigods and if that isn't enough there may just be a dark Goat created with a little bit of a curse!!
As the dust from one destructive moment starts to clear Simon and Monty begin to realize just what they are up against. The action has us turning pages to see just who will live to tell the story.
I love the dialog between Peaches and Simon! It will have you laughing one minute while glues to the page to see what happens next.
If you enjoy urban fantasy this is a series you will want to read. If you have been following this series you will not want to miss this book

Warning: This Is Not a Stand-Alone Novel

This exciting, well-written entry to the supernatural fantasy series Montague and Strong starts off with references to 1) vengeance-crazed George Rott from an earlier book in the series, “Full Moon Howl” and 2) Monty’s fast-approaching magical face-off with TK, one of the most powerful (and a bit insane) mages, which Monty earned with his reckless actions in “Homecoming.”
There are side stories about Peaches’ new abilities, more buildings destroyed by M&S plus Peaches, Monty’s love for perfect Earl Grey, etc. Cecil has a new, un-meltable and un-explodable Pontiac Dark Goat for Simon to drive. And as in other books, we learn more about the background stories of the protagonists and other characters.
As usual, the snarky interactions between protagonists (and with Peaches) are fun. Plus, wonderful secondary characters—friends, frenemies, oddball relatives, old and new opponents, etc.—help make this book what it is.
Recommended if you liked other books in the Montague and Strong series.

On the fifth book now and the growth of the characters is non-existent. As someone who follows a plant-based diet I was initially drawn in by Monty's vegan diet restrictions for his profession. It really has not been mentioned since the first book. I am now just constantly bombarded by Peaches's need for meat. Meat meat meat meat meat. All the time, meat meat meat meat meat. Peaches is a carnivore, I get it. But after meat=life I was just done with it. The stories have fallen off, the characters aren't growing and I am just bombarded with meat being presented as some health elixer that you can conjure out of the air with no consequence. It has gotten tired, even if it wasn't triggering for me personally. It is 2020 not the dark ages. The Reckoning sequence just put me to sleep. No purpose, just some weird character parade and the results were inconsequential. I will not read another of these books.

I’m still not convinced that Mr. Sanchez isn’t a genius that has snuck out of Hogwarts. The author’s imagination for the different magic that is used in these books, and the detail that is explained, is off the charts. Now he’s pulling off terrifying dragons and demigods. Seriously, I’m running out of good things to say about this series. I get so lost in the book, that it takes me a bit to unwind my brain for normal life. This is an action packed series and this book even deals with how someone deals with the death of a loved one, but still doesn’t go into that dark place – does it with realistic emotions and you feel the pain. I wasn’t sure how Monty, Simon and Peaches were going to get out of this one, and I’m not giving anything away. But it’s a great ride, and this series deserves more than 5 stars.

Simon and Monty are at it again. Explosions happening and on the edge of death several times. Just the way I like this series. Simon, Monty and Peaches are now fighting a man who lost his daughter in the last book in the series and is out for revenge against the dragons. He hooks up with some evil, powerful beings and is causing havoc among the magical world. Monty tries his best not to explode anything and doesn't succeed. Still weakened from the "Reckoning" he went through after the last destructive explosion he did in the last book, he miscalculates a few things. Simon gets a new car and has to prove his immortality more than one in this book. Great read and can't wait until the next one in the series.

Returning home to their beloved New York City following the untimely and sacrificial death of Tristan’s father, the Montague and Strong detective agency team barely get a moment to catch their breath before plunging into their next death defying adventure. When a former black ops master, twisted with grief from losing his only child, plots revenge against a force that could destroy all of mankind, Simon and Monty must step in or risk New York City becoming a small greasy spot in the road. But before they can get down to the business of saving New York City and the world, there’s just a small matter of the Reckoning that Tristan must survive…. Grab a drink and get comfy because you won’t put this one down ‘til The End.

The sixth offering in the Montague and Strong (and Peaches) Detective Agency series sees our intrepid trio in the middle of another death defying adventure. Mr Sanchez seems so comfortable in this magical world he’s created and this is evident in the quality of his writing and the originality of the storyline. The story is just so much fun to read. As usual, I would recommend that potential buyers read the other books in the series first as there are some aspects of the story that run chronologicaly throughout the series. If you enjoy magic and mayhem in an urban fantasy world, hungry hellhounds and protagonists who feel ike they are in your own personal friends circle and who you’d happily jump into the adventure with to help save the day, then this series is definitely for you.

More action and laughter with Monty and Simon
Not only a full size dragon but demigods too :-) Dragons & Demigods is the 6th book in the Montague & Strong series (Tombyards and Butterflies being the 1st) which already started off well but gets even better with every book. This book is full of action with a slightly warped sense of humour. As we catch up with Monty and Simon we find out more about their dysfunctional family as this story goes more in depth into characters you already knew as well as introducing you to new ones with potential to be seriously interesting. You probably ought to set some time aside as once I started reading I really didn't want to stop!

I loved the first 4 Monty and Simon novels, thought book 5 was pretty good, but this one disappoints. We lose some of the fun interaction between Monty and Simon, based on their deep friendship and trust, and their equal abilities to cause mayhem. Simon is less in Dragons and Demigods, less curious, less capable, less mature, less interesting.

The rest of the book is the usual Monty and Simon excellent, fast paced, full of dire threat. I just want Sanchez to bring back the real Simon.

Brilliant!!!

The Montague and Strong Case Files are fantastic, and this book is no exception!
This book's beautiful and heart-wrenching dedications had me smiling and tearing up, at the same time. Blessings, Love and Positive Energies to the author!
This story deals with a lot deep emotions - grief, power hungry monsters (human and Other), and of course, sausage hungry Hellhounds..
So, to quote a very scary woman from a very old movie.. "Buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.." But well worth the turbulance!

Monty and Strong should be called Smash and Dash. They blow things up then run away. When they aren't blowing things up, they deny vehemently that they blow things up. Peaches by far is my favorite character because I too believe that meat is life. Especially sausages.

This book series is fantastic. The author has a great sense of humor and pacing to keep the reader engaged throughout the book. I love smashing these the moment they come out. I can't wait to see what Monty and Strong blow up next.

The latest in Orlanda Sanchez's 'Montague and Strong' series, that picks up from the previous entry (Homecoming) - this is not a stand-alone, nor a good place to start the series as it assumes familiarity with those previous events and characters.

This time around, Simon Strong and Montague Tristan are back in New York (again) which (again) gets large parts demolished due to their (mis)adventures: this time involving a Kragzimage (I hope I've spelt that right) (or a shape-shifting Dragon to you and me) and a demi-god.

Still, at least they have Peaches on their side to help out …

I don't know what to say anymore.

Seriously. All of the superlatives seem redundant. I've talked about consistent plotlines. I've gushed over great characters and how the author keeps them growing intellectually, spiritually and maybe some day Strong is actually going to put a break on his tongue although I doubt it.

Editing is well done and spelling, word choice and punctuation are good enough that I don't get pulled out of my head while reading.

So, my last words are these: What you waiting for? Go buy Book Six right now!

This is like Simon's coming of age story! A story where he gets to prove his worth on the M&S detective team. Can't wait to see where his future takes him. Thrilling, action packed story that I have come to expect from Orlando, and of course lots of little Easter eggs!

I loved Peaches... but desperately want more Chi!!! I love her!
Orlando's writing is getting better with each book, the stories become easier to read and flow so much nicer than the first in the series (which is still a spectacular read)

The Rollercoaster goes from strength to strength

What is better than a good strong coffee? What is better than sausages? What is...

Well you get the point. 6 is more than 5. On so.many levels. This juggernaut just keeps on rolling. Over the rubble of what was once a grand building normally.
The two demolition experts aka the mage and the mortal, brit and yank are on the loose again. And woof said Peaches.
Oh and ...fire in the hold!!!!!
Enjoy you lucky people.

Montague and Strong - the odd couple that just keeps getting better

Simon's past plays a part this time in the form of his ex-special ops leader who is in way over his head. George Rott thinks he can kill the dragons to avenge his daughter's death, but at what price? Destruction, humor, and betrayal ensue. Plus we get to see more from the Ten. This series just keeps getting better. And loving the new Goat!

This book is just wonderful from start to finish. You can read it as pure entertainment or for its underlying theme.
From the 2 dedications, which really resonated with me, to its ending. The dedications are truly a gift of love to us readers.
And my favorite car of all time appears, the GOAT.
Plus Peaches is philosophical, Spock references and other Easter eggs!!! And wait until you find out what happened to those other wizards.

The best. Better than Dresden!

I will start by saying I bloody love these books, so I was thrilled when I saw a new one. I have read loads of others who people say are brilliant- Dresden, Dex, McCool, etc- But for me, Montague and Strong are just the best.

Here is another cracker, fast, quick, you'll probably enjoy it best of you read all the others first and that's a rare treat in itself.

I cannot ever recommend these books highly enough.

I don't usually leave reviews because it feels like writing a book report, which I always hated doing in school. But I just love these Montague and Strong books. I love the humor, I love the sci-fi/fantasy/pop culture Easter egg references, I love Peaches, I love the author's notes, I just really love it all.

One of my favorite pop culture references so far: It's just a jump to the left, and a step to the right.

TK kicks a$$

Monty and Simon are in trouble over their heads this time. The Reckoning that Monty had gotten himself into takes a lot out of him and hopefully teaches him a good lesson. Don't piss off a woman. Especially one like TK. Her and Peaches are my newest favorite characters.
Read this series. Each book gets better and has you laughing at and hoping the best for Monty and Simon.

This is the latest book in the Monty and Simon series, and the best one yet. It mostly about a man named George dealing with dragons. Along with a demigod and a very ancient dragon, but who is using who? And how much of the city will be left once Monty and Simon start to help? Not to mention the arrival of the Dark Goat.

All in all a great story, can't wait for the next one.

A story so intriguing you'll want to step right into it...

Dragons and mages and demigods... Oh my!  A combination made in heaven? Oh no. I think not. Toss in a hungry hellhound and his immortal bondmate and you have a recipe made in, well, Hell.
Do yourself a favor and don't miss this story in the Montague & Strong series. The story needs to be told.

More destruction

Mr. Sanchez has done an amazing job spinning another tale. Simon and Monty are on the hunt for a grieving father and a demigod hell bent on destroying dragons.. along the way, more of New York is destroyed, and Peaches gets a cool new ride. For fans of M&S, this is a must read. I highly recommend it.

Yet again another superbook! it hits the ground running and doesn't stop. The pair of 'demolition' guys plus Peaches don't disappoint in the destruction and chaos they cause.
Once again the humour is great, the action brilliant and the occasional Easter Eggs make it.
go on read it what you waiting for?

Always a fun read. This one is no exception.

Someday I’m going to have to re-read all of them all in order, for fun. Meanwhile this one has plenty of villains & messes; cryptic, but obscure references; and a hungry hellhound. Lots of fun, per usual! Now, how long do I have to wait for the next one?!

Love this series!! The sci fi and fantasy references are cool! If you need a little intense light escapism, this series is the place! This particular book has more weight to it than some, growth. It is a fun story but you will be a little (not completely) lost without reading the other books in the series.
