Electric Blue Love

Rate this book
A friends to lovers age-gap romance. Here's a thing I learned a long time ago... guys and girls don't think about relationships the same way. Especially in college. So, when I caught the girl sitting next to me on the plane reading a magazine article on how to get out of the friend zone, I did something I never do - I got involved. One look into her electric blue eyes and the darkness inside of me faded.Light and hope radiated from her like a neon sign.Guys like me know how to get the girl, but we rarely get to keep them.

Girls like me fade into the background. Nice, quiet, smart girls without the latest trendy clothes. My friendship with Court started as an opportunity to get inside the male mind, but it turned into so much more. His touch sent current coursing through my veins. His kiss jolted my heart. But here is something I learned a long time ago... you can't force people to love you back. No matter how much you long for them

5 - "I’m not looking for perfect…" Stars!

I’m not going to lie, I have become a huge fan of this author in the last couple of months, having devoured all three books in the Smart Jock series, and loved them unconditionally, I was interested to see how the author would take on the OMYW trope.

"I’m a good student…"

Early twenties to mid-thirties isn’t a massive leap nowadays so we aren’t talking taboo or anything but the unique situation Bianca and Court meet in, in regards to being seat mates on a flight, and the texting/talking on the phone friendship the develops initially as Court helps Bianca get out of her head and hopefully into the arms of a college guy she’s’ been crushing on but has been lumped into the friend-zone with gave this story a new an unusual edge, and I can’t lie I am a sucker for a story-line that has lots of textual content!

I didn’t make a habit of getting myself emotionally involved with people like this, so to say I had no clue where these protective thoughts were coming from was an understatement…

Opposites attract with these two with Bianca being open, honest and family orientated. Court prefers to keep things superficial with almost everyone he meets, not believing his past or himself worth talking too deeply about, and family… well that is something he has not real concept of anyway. So-much-so that getting to know Bianca’s present’s a whole new out-of-his-comfort-zone set of challenges in itself.

We were playing some twisted mentor/mentee game that looked harmless but felt like it could slice me wide open…

I am sure you can tell by now I have a bit of a crush on this author, I had almost given up on the college romance, although this one isn’t 100% in that genre, but Rebecca brings the drama, angst and romance in such a great way that none of it feels overblown, the twist in this one totally blindsided me as well, I think mainly because I was so invested in the chemistry sizzling between the two of them the secondary characters and everything else going on although pivotal faded into the background a bit.

I’d trade a piece of my heart if it patched his even a tiny bit…

Loved it, love this author, and I hope to read more from her very soon!

First off, this cover is so eye catching, beautiful, the cover model is so darn handsome. I love it!!! Second, the Prologue by Bianca really pulled me in immediately. It was such a great start to this book!

Court and Bianca meet on a plane ride heading for Connecticut. 8B is Bianca's seat. 8B turns out to be more than just a seat number. Court is quite fascinated with her . There is just something about her that makes him want to be around her. They are about 12 years apart. Bianca's needs advice to go forward with a crush. Court volunteers to help her. Court is such a great character. He had a tough childhood, my heart aches for him. Talk about tugging on your heartstrings with his plot twist. I love that we could see how much he was falling in love with Bianca. He would do anything for her. The love between them is so uniquely written. I loooovvve Electric Blue Love, the supporting characters were a great addition, I love the Dual POV and their connection is so fulfilling. I absolutely recommend this book. Love Love Love Electric Blue Love!!!!

I LOVED this chance meeting romance between a college girl and refined, slightly older gentleman! Its the perfect romance novel that Rebecca keeps me coming back for more of her words!

This is the perfect book for someone actually looking for dating advice, because the author gives some great advice ;)

I enjoyed the pace of the plot, the story has twists and turns that surprised me where I did not see that happening. I enjoyed the slow burn romance of the main characters that left me happy with how the book ends.... If you love a good slow burn romance you will DEFINITELY LOVE THIS BOOK!

“With a hesitant hand, i reached for her, the only thing in my life that I was certain of anymore - light and goodness and love. Her eyes closed as my fingers rested on her cheek. She leaned into my touch and it was all the sign I needed from her that we could get through this. I hadn’t lost her, and I was going to do everything in my power to hold on before she was gone forever.”

I have a MAJOR book hangover from ELECTRIC BLUE LOVE, Court and Bianca were EVERYTHING!!! I can quite confidently say that this was my favourite of Rebecca Jenshaks books to date. The story flowed beautifully and I was sucked in from that prologue, possibly because I felt like I could really understand what Bianca was talking about.

Court very swiftly made his way up my list of ultimate book boyfriends. He was adorable, and at times, my heart broke for him. At 34 years old, he was 12 years older than Bianca, and I just loved that he was so aware of his feelings so early on, although he was at war with himself and didnt really want to give in to it. They made such a gorgeous couple, and most of the time I really didnt notice the age gap between them. They had sizzling chemistry, but also fantastic banter, which earned me some strange looks from my husband!!

If you haven’t read any books by Rebecca Jenshak yet, you really are missing out, and I highly recommend that ELECTRIC BLUE LOVE would be a great place to start.

I simply could not put this book down! The story goes from light hearted to angst and gives you a lump in your throat that makes it hard to breathe. Totally addictive! My family were ignored and I escaped to my bedroom to read, I haven't done that for a long time.

My heart was full of love and hurt for Court and his achingly sad start to life but it made him into a beautifully flawed man who was scared to commit. How I love him. He just melted my heart. Bianca is perfect. She just fits into the slot made for Court and helps him feel the love and light. These two have to overcome some sad hurdles that made me cry my eyes out.

This is my first book by Rebecca Jenshak and I loved every fantastically written word. I'm hooked. I need more books by Rebecca. This is a must-read.

I'll be reading this one again. I absolutely loved the older guy, younger girl dynamics. He was sweet and angsty and she comes along and saves HIM. All along he thinks he's saving her... love how Jenshak reveals the hero's vulnerability. GREAT summer read. Sexy. Get lost in the book. Yum.

After reading ‘The assist’ I really wanted to read more books of this writer so I decided to try this book ‘Electric blue love’. It’s a story about a college girl who meets an older guy on the plane and they get into a discussion about relationships and how to get the attention of a guy. Before they know it Court (the guy on the plane) is teaching Bianca, the girl, how she can get the attention of Todd, a boy who she has been crushing on for some time now. But somewhere during the long phone calls and the meetings, they are falling for each other, only Court had never had a relationship before and there is a reason for that. Can Bianca change his mind about it? Can she use the rules that he gave her and seduce him instead?

The story is told from both POV’s. It’s a sweet story and the writer really takes her time to build the romance. So it’s a bit of a slow burn. One of the things that I really appreciated in this story is the ‘real’ emotions in it. ‘Electric blue love’ isn’t just another story about a billionaire who meets a young girl. No! This is a story about a ‘normal’ guy and a ‘normal’ girl with real problems, feelings and real life situations. I loved that very much.

I’m really happy that I decided to read this book and I will definitely read more books of this writer.

If you follow my reviews you know I have recently fallen in love with Rebecca’s basketball boys So when I came upon Electric Blue Love I KNEW it was a must-read. Although the sports element was missing I found that it is Rebecca’s writing style I have fallen in love with most. Her ability to create smooth and natural banter between characters is the core, but she also has a mastery of world-building that sets you right into the characters’ lives. Her books are immersive and addicting.

I love all strong female characters, but I love the family-oriented ones the best so Bianca was an instant like for me. Her obsession with electricity and how it drove her in school was a fascinating plot point that felt unique to the typical woman wanting to break in a predominantly male profession. I also loved her subconscious zest for life and how she was able to explore that with Court.

It is seldom that I can turn down the opportunity to turn down a suit and Court is very very much a suit. He is suave, he is successful, and he has the best one-liners. He had me smiling and chuckling throughout, but he also had my heart aching for him.

This would fall under the “age difference trope” but it is highlighted at best and wasn’t the main source of conflict throughout. This book had wonderful depth, comedic relief, and just the right amount of heat.

Well, that was completely unexpected! I thought this would be a light, friends to lovers new adult novel, but this was so much more emotional loaded with secrets that even I couldn’t predict.

Bianca and Court meet in a very unconventional way: on an airplane. She’s reading an article about how to get out of the friend zone and Court strikes up a conversation with her about it. There is an age gap. Bianca is a 22 year old senior in college. Court is a 34 year old with a heartbreaking childhood. I’m not usually a fan of an age gap this far apart, but this worked so incredibly well. Bianca was so much more grownup and dealing with some tough family issues that made her grow up even more. She was really an amazing character. She was sweet, smart and romantic. I adored her. Court was much more difficult to get to know, but a real romantic and sweet guy when you do get to know him. They begin a friendship which eventually leads to more.

But, both characters are hiding some major secrets. Everything is building up to one insane scene where everything falls apart and you finally get clarity. I couldn’t put the story down and I did not see that coming at all! This book was full of surprises and I loved every second of it! Highly recommend!

These two meet on a flight. Court is an older guy, he’s trying to get her attention. Once he has Bianca’s attention, after seeing what magazine article she’s reading, he gives her advice on how to land the guy she’s been trying to land at college. He gives her his number in case she needs more advice. This entire interaction was so funny, and every time Court refers to Todd, the guy she likes, he calls him every T name except for Todd. So dang funny. He continues this throughout most of the book. She calls him quite a bit and then becomes her fake boyfriend, so she can practice boyfriend/girlfriend stuff with him. They really are cute. Eventually these two do turn into more and a lot of emotions are involved.

This was safe for me. No ow drama, not really any om drama either, Todd starts to like her, but she is already crazy about Court and tells Todd that when he tries to make his move. This was a fun book, that ends up being pretty heavy with emotions with both of their family backgrounds. There was a brief separation that broke mine and their hearts. There was an epilogue and a hea.

After really liking this author's The Assist, I decided to read Electric Blue Love next, as I had already put it on my TBR list before that. Unfortunately it wasn't such a winner. The connection between the main characters felt too instant and I was never completely pulled in the story/romance. And the hero was kind of a coward, to be honest. There were also quite a few grammar mistakes.

--------------
POV: 1st person (dual)
story: 2
writing: 3
heroine: Bianca, 22y, college senior. 3.5 stars. She was OK.
hero: Court, 34, business man. 3 stars. I soon got tired of his low self-esteem and abandonment issues, tbh. And him expecting Bianca to choose him over her mother's health was baffling.
secondary characters: 3
couple/romance: 2
instalove? Yes, IMO.
steam: Moderate to lowish.
angst: Moderate

-4,682 stars for every mention of flying between NYC and Connecticut as if an airplane is the most logical form of transportation to a town with an Ivy League school that’s maybe 80 miles away from NYC (*cough* New Haven *cough*) when anyone with any sense takes the freaking train! There is no need for the amount of plane travel in this book. Court and Bianca can still meet cute on Metro North and develop their relationship over text instead of acting as if CT and NY are so far away from each other that going home to NY is such a burden and she needs her rich friend’s dad to buy her plane tickets all the time. Do your research! Also this book was boring and lacked chemistry.

Quick read with likable characters and I very much enjoyed the premise of the story. But there wasn't enough development or interaction where it counted between the Court and 8B. I felt like there were danglers left at the end as well. There's an age gap of 12 years between this couple -- it was never mentioned by either of her parents. She's a college senior when they meet and he's 34 years old. I just felt that needed a little more exploration and it was never even discussed between the two of them. And the whole angsty matter that kept the story going felt lost in space and no full closure to it. Best word I can use to describe this one overall is UNDER-DEVELOPED.

Electric blue Love is Rebecca Jenshak's newest novel and needless to say I knew I would be hooked as soon as I saw that gorgeous cover, and the title ? Come on now how unique is that?

"Voltage, a noun. The difference in eletric potential between two points"

Anywayyy, how many can say they meet a hottie on their flight back university, well that is exactly what happens to Bianca on her plane ride. She is pleasant surprised to meet Court, yet slightly shy.
I loved her character, she was great because of how much love she poured out to people, and her beauty that she was totally unaware of. I was also obsessed with her job choice/ brains. I love when authors make the heroine super smart but not in a snobby "I know I'm smart" kind of way.

"And with the hope that when the time was right love would find me, I devoted my life to voltage and current."

Court is all hot and a sexy older guy. He's got the maturity most of Bianca's college male friends just don't , and it draws her in. He's got a past, but he's still a kind-hearted person through it all. He's a true loner but Bianca makes him not want to spend his days by himself anymore. They both find themselves wanting to know more about the other, but neither of them is sure where the other stands in their feelings. I loved Court's character too, he was genuine and sweet, but still naughty ;)

"Current flowed from him to me and arced. An electric discharge that glowed..."
"Love framed in an electric blue glow."

Starting off as very innocent and light-hearted, this book goes from 0-100 and turns up the voltage and strikes you in all the right places ;) cute and quirky I love Rebecca's writing. She's got such a unique way of detailing things from different perspectives. Electric Blue Love was surely one great romance I will be reading again!

An Electrical Engineering student meets a Risk Analyst on an airplane ride. Unlucky in love and relationship, Bianca ends up taking love advice from an older handsome stranger. From texts to video calls, and accidental meetings, they kept their interaction based on an arranged mentor/mentee relationship. But nothing prepared Court and Bianca for a current of attraction to sizzle between them.

Bianca and Court had a very unique encounter on an airplane to Connecticut from NYC. They sat next to each other and he reluctantly gave her advice after advice on how to attract a guy Bianca had a crush on. One thing led to another and they were constantly texting, video-calling, and sending pictures to each other as some sort of practice 'date'. But they had to fight the attraction between them because of their age difference, family backgrounds, and emotional baggage they're carrying. They all made a pronounced point to the conflict of the story.

I've been a fan of Rebecca since I read her Smart Jocks series. It was one of the best NA romance I've encountered recently. And this one is another winner from her, I don't think I'd love it as much as smart jocks series, considering it is a contemporary romance, but I did. This book is way more than what I bargained for. Bianca is a character I can relate to, and she was put in a dire situation but she has a big heart and she's strong on her convictions. I stood by her until the end of the book. Court is a sweetheart. He struggled with his relationship with other people and it clearly bothered him that he couldn't be emotionally available when needed. And, there are always heroes that have these issues and are depicted as cruel, heartless, and cold. But Court is the exact opposite, he did everything objectively and did not let emotion rule his action.

The story progressed from a hearty romantic comedy to a touching emotional love story at a steady pace. It was not something I expected. It carried a lot of heart, I even found myself crying a bit at the end. I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves a sweet, heartwarming romance.

I am so glad that I went out of my normal "comfort zone" and took a chance on this great book. I absolutely fell in love with Court right from the very start of this book. I loved his character - I loved how he was enamored with the girl in 8B right from the moment he saw her with those electric blue eyes. When Court and Bianca sit next to one another who knew that the current between the two of them would end up being everything they ever needed, wanted and desired.

This was my first novel that I have had the pleasure of reading by Rebecca Jenshak and I absolutely loved it. I think that Rebecca knocked this one out of the park with her ability to create two characters despite their age difference had a connection like no other. Court and Bianca both needed each other - they needed to find one another and grow as individuals. I absolutely loved the story line, the characters, everything about this book. It was soooooo good!

If you are looking for something that will make you feel good, something that will bring a smile to your face and a story line that is different then what is out there - then this is the book for you. The characters are unique - they are so different from one another and yet complement each other. I fell in love with Court right from the very beginning and I hope you do too. I think that Bianca is a wonderfully written strong female character that stuck to what she believed in - love and she followed her heart. Take a chance and add Electric Blue Love to your To-Be-Read Shelf. You won't be disappointed!

Electric Blue Love pulled me into the story right from the beginning. How many people have daydreamed about the hot guy sitting next to them on a plane? For Bianca Winters that daydream turned into a reality when Court Adams started chatting with her and decided to become her mentor on how to get past the “friend zone” with a guy. Little did either of know it would turn out so differently. At the surface this book seems to be a straightforward story about a college student and a businessman oddly becoming friends and maybe much more. But as the story progresses we see that it’s much more than that. It’s a story about 2 people, one who never had a family and one who is afraid of losing their family. I’m not a huge fan of the cover. It was not how I saw Court and it made me think he was going to be different than how he was actually written. But as for the story itself, it was fabulously written and I couldn’t help but fall in love with Court and Bianca. Also being a female engineer myself, I love that Bianca is one too! I may or may not have been reading this book during a meeting at work. Yes it was THAT good! This was the first book I read by Rebecca Jenshak and I intend to read more!

I love Rebecca Jenshak writing – I’ve been a huge fan since I’ve started reading her work and this book was just the icing on the cake.

This story is about two people who were falling in love without even realizing it. I really like Bianca even though she was getting on my nerves when she was deciding on her future but having in mind a boy who didn't give her the attention that he should or better to say she wanted from him. But after she stars interacting more with Court she started to come into her own and I was so happy to see her blossom.

Now to Court; I loved him from the get-go. He was easy-going, funny and was really invested helping Bianca out. The drama of the story left me feeling a bit unsettled because
(to me) it seemed unfair what he was asking of Bianca. But as always true love prevails and HEA was just around the corner for these two.
This book left me smiling and I love it!!!

OMG I cannot say enough about this book. From the second I picked it up I was hooked and couldn't put it down. The chemistry right off the bat between the characters was off the charts and I loved the banter that went on between them.

From the second I heard the storyline I knew I had to read this book and believe me I was not disappointed. Bianca and Court are both such strong characters and I really enjoyed getting to know each of their stories.

Full of plenty of emotions both happy and sad as well as some twists and turns I didn't see coming I was on the edge of my seat waiting for what was going to happen next.

A must read book for sure!

Rebecca Jenshak has written another book that had me hooked from the first page. I was in love with Bianca and Court the second we met them and i read this book in one sitting and couldn't put it down.

I loved that it wasn't a straight forward story and that there was a twist or so in there (which I didn't see coming). Another brilliant read from this author <3

This book…. this book is everything.

I fell in love with ' Electric Blue Love' right away and I mean from the very first word.
This book is funny, sad, swoon worthy, drool worthy, tears worthy, heartbreak worthy, I think you go it now but it truly is everything worthy.

Court is our damaged hero, he is hot as sin, funny and sometimes moody. He’s had a rough past and has some serious commitment issues but as soon as he laid eyes on our beautiful Bianca, he couldn’t help the fast beating of his heart and if helping her win over another guy will bring him closer to Bianca, he’ll do anything for her.

Bianca is a gorgeous young woman who doesn’t care what the fashion of the week is or what she is supposed to do or not do to. She’s funny, smart, drop-dead-gorgeous and feisty.
During her least semester in college and she decides to try and to get her friend’s attention but he seems to completely overlook her and take her for granted. When a stranger offers to help her win her friend over she can’t decline the offer coming from an older man, who seems to have everything in his life under control. But she wasn’t expecting, to feel the electricity and the sudden connection between her and Court.

Their love story is a slow burn full of sexual tension and so much electricity to lit New York city by themselves.
In this book there will be funny moments that will leave you in need of air but there will also be dramatic moments that will also leave you in need of air, but for all the wrong reasons.
There are moments when you’ll want to walk away from the book and moment you will want to do nothing except of reading.

“Always leave them wanting for more”.

‘Electric Blue Love’ is the perfect summer read and I can assure you that you will fall more and more in love with these characters you will not want to get to the end, I personally dreaded finishing this book so much I forced myself to stop and do something else just to have some more time with Bianca and Court.

**4.25 Blushes**

Bianca is a nice girl from a struggling blue collar but very loving family. Her mother is ill and all Bianca can think about is finishing school so she can get a job to help out her parents. Well, there is one other thing she thinks about all the time – her crush, Todd.

Court is jaded. A man who has ghost from his past haunting his heart and mind, He’s a successful businessman who has no time for personal entanglements and that’s just the way he wants it to stay.

Until the day that Bianca sits next to Court on a flight home (seat 8B) and zings her way into his heart with her electric blue eyes and eyeliner. He ends up offering to coach her in how to catch Todd’s eye.

Except that it ends up turning into something else altogether. They bond over texts, and jokes and her nickname – yes 8B! We actually “see” how they start falling in love with each other. Court brings her into his world and Bianca invites him into hers.

Rebecca Jenshak did not write a run of the mill romance. When you find out what Court has been hiding, things take a turn that you will not expect. My heart broke. Like in tiny little pieces kind of broken. I was so drawn into this read! The cover did not work for me though. The model is hot but not what I imagined – though that may be me nitpicking. There is also a 12 year age difference between the leads which faded into the background for me as I kept reading. The banter was romantic perfection. The dose of angst was totally necessary to stop Electric Blue Love from getting too cutesy. I really enjoyed this one and definitely want to read more of Rebecca Jenshak which is the biggest compliment I can give an author.

Electric Blue Love is the first book that I've read from Rebecca Jenshak and am I so freaking glad that this was the book that introduced me to this author's incredible writing. The reason I decided to give this book a try was because it sounded interesting and a few of my books friends has read it, and their reviews painted an amazing picture. This one totally seemed like something right up my alley and oh my goodness I freaking loved it. After devouring this story in one sitting I was left with a total book hanger, but it was certainly worth it!

Court had this instant connection with Bianca right from the moment his eyes met hers as she sat in seat 8B. It was like fate intervened and they were meant to meet on that flight. These two captured my heart and I couldn't get them out of my head for a few days after finishing this book. I absolutely loved the slight age difference...I mean who doesn't love a good older man?! So HOT!

This story made me want to read more from this author, and I certainly plan on reading more of her books in the near future. I think readers will fall head over heels in love with Court and Bianca's romance! I strongly recommend one-clicking this story today!
