Matt has never met a woman who wouldn't succumb to the McCafferty charm. But beautiful Kelly Dillinger, the cop assigned to his sister's hit-and-run case, proves indifferent to his attention. Her all-business attitude pricks his ego…and fires up his blood. The more she resists, the more determined he becomes to break down her defenses. Matt might think that law enforcement is no place for a lady, but he might soon find himself making a plea for passion.
Lisa Jackson is the number-one New York Times bestselling author of over ninety-five novels, including the Rick Bentz and Reuben Montoya Series, the Pescoli and Alvarez Series, the Savannah series, and numerous stand alone novels. She also is the co-author of One Last Breath, Last Girl Standing, and the Colony Series, written with her sister and bestselling author Nancy Bush, as well as the collaborative novels Sinister and Ominous, written with Nancy Bush and Rosalind Noonan. There are over thirty million copies of her novels in print and her writing has been translated into twenty languages.
Before she became a nationally bestselling author, she was a mother struggling to keep food on the table by writing novels, hoping against hope that someone would pay her for them. Today, neck deep in murder, her books appear on The New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly national bestseller lists.
With dozens of bestsellers to her name, Lisa Jackson is a master of taking readers to the edge of sanity—and back—in novels that buzz with dangerous secrets and deadly passions. She continues to be fascinated by the minds and motives of both her killers and their pursuers—the personal, the professional, and the downright twisted. As she builds the puzzle of relationships, actions, clues, lies, and personal histories that haunt her protagonists, she must also confront the fear and terror faced by her victims and the harsh and enduring truth that, in the real world, terror and madness touch far too many lives and families.
3.75 stars. Part 2 of The McCaffertys is a bit more exciting than part 1. I am enjoying the series more now that more characters are involved and I can get more invested in their lives. It would be nice to have a little more build up to the romance in the two parts I have read so far. I feel like things move slow on the overall story but are really rushed in the romance parts. Overall it is a good story just not anything life altering.
I like the story because the characters are strong and independent. So many people write stories about one character being weaker. This is about two equals who find each other.
Funny, sexy, mysterious. She's a detective with the Sheriff's Department and he's one of three brother's trying to keep their sister safe. You really need to read book 1 first, so you can follow the mystery. Highly recommend.
Kelly is the "cop" looking in Matt's sisters hit and run. I enjoyed this book and wanted the mystery of to be solved of who hit Randi and did not stop (along with the other secrets Randi was hiding). Randi who was in a comma could not help and I hate to say it but Kelly was not much help either. I really wanted her to be better at her job, she really never figured out anything which bothered me therefore resulting in 3 stars instead of 4.
Second novella in the series. Randi awakes a little over a month from her coma as Matt and Detective Kelly fall in love with the denial. Unknowingly, They find love with two unlikely professions. A rodeo rider and a female detective.
Love Lisa Jackson's books. Don't think much of Silhouette's small editions. All the McCafferty boys' books or I should say stories should be in one book.
