Let's just say it's about a possible future of humanity!
Salah satu komik tentang bertahan hidup yang menurut saya paling menarik, paling membuat hati saya tercabik-cabik dari komik lain yang pernah saya baca. World building-nya, tragedinya, karakter-karakternya, alurnya, romance-nya, doggy-nya... Gah! Perfect!
An interesting manga about a group of 4 people who wake up in the middle of an ocean and find the way to an island. There they have to survive and also figure out what is going on with them. It was quite a fabulous start to this manga, I am curious how these 4 ended up together, what is up with Botan and what is she hiding, who is the mysterious man in the woods and what did he mean with what he said, will our MC get out of her shell and get more confidence, and will creepy dude get eaten by something (please?). The island was really horrific with flesh-eating bugs, plants that will kill you, I guess I should say everything is out there to kill them. The art is really nice. I am not too sure if I will read this series fully, but I will be giving it at least 3 volumes. :)
1.5 Basara is one of my favorite series ever, but this is nowhere near as good as that, at least so far. It's got 30+ volumes though so I'm guessing it gets better, (or maybe not and there's a reason this still hasn't been licensed in the US.)
The main character is just beyond annoying and super weak and whiny though, and I kind of wish she had been eaten by one of those giant carnivorous plants.
Komik yg sempurna menurut saya!
the premise is really nice tho i am put off by the absolute dumbness of the main girl. but i hope she has character development in the upcoming vol. !!!!
honestly excited to read this lets hope it doesn’t disappoint
i’d read maybe 20 volumes of this YEARS ago and i think about it often. it was probably one of the best post-apocalyptic pieces of literature i’d ever read, like, blew my child mind, so i’m excited to reread and finally finish it. i think about this manga all the time.
That day was just like any other day in Natsu's life. She went home from school, had dinner with her family and went to bed. But when she woke up, everything became so disastrously confusing. She found herself in a weird vessel-like thing in the middle of storming sea with other seven strangers.
Escaping the sea and arrived in a land doesn't suddenly put her and her new acquaintances in a calming mood. The land where they set their feet on was no less bizzare then how they woke up in the stormy sea at first.
The reality, though it was totally hard to digest, then brought up by one of the group members. Botan, a woman who claimed as their 'watcher/guide', explained about a project of preserving mankind. What does she mean? What happened to the earth they live in? And are there any other human besides the eight of them?
7 Seeds is a brilliantly thrilling manga by Yumi Tamura with the theme of survival, adventurous thriller, and drama. Despite the artwork that's lacking in beauty department (but somehow resembles the chaotic and distressing settings), the storyline is well-paced and never failed to amuse me.
As my first foray into proper scifi shoujo, this was interesting.
Scifi as a whole is very hit or miss for me, there are some series that I adore (Illuminae, Skyward, Lunar Chronicles etc.), but typically a lot of scifi stories don't interest me, I'm more of a fantasy gal. However, I really like the mystery element we have going on. There's so much weirdness happening to the characters in volume 1 alone, that I can't wait to see what's really happening.
The reason I didn't give it a full 4 star rating is because I still feel a bit detached from the characters, and I'm not fully hooked on the story (though my interest is piqued). Hopefully that'll turn around quickly and I can adore this as much as everyone else.
I first learned about 7Seeds in my early days of reading manga and have been anxiously awaiting a serialization. I fell out of my manga craze, but in the last two years, I have been reignited. I decided that 7Seeds will probably never see an American serialization because of the misogyny in the publishing industry.
The thought of being sold by your parents for some money, so you can go on to "save" the human race is terrifying. Like who wants that pressure or to have to deal with the fallout of that? Not me. I love the art, the storyline, and the characters in this volume. A gripping way to start a spanning series that is beloved. How long will it take me to read 7Seeds? I'm not sure, but I'm finally committing.
I've been meaning to try this for a while. My impression was that this was something along the lines of Please Save My Earth, but actually it turns out to be more like Cage of Eden without the fanservice.
Interesting story about four people who are kidnapped and left on a mysterious tropical island. The main character is a shy, timid high school girl, the youngest of the group. She spends the volume crying and wishing she were home, but she isn't annoying the way one would expect. It's not typical shoujo, where the focus is almost entirely on the romance, but the story is definitely compelling.
Loved all 35 volumes. A perfect story that deals with a cast of 30+ characters and fleshing all of them out. Deserves a quality anime adaptation. Netflix can die.
It’s so different than the beginning of the anime if I remember correctly. But anyway, it could have been 3 stars if the main character wasn’t such a crying baby omg she’s so annoying. And it doesn’t make sense that the dark hair guy is immediately devoting himself to protect her.
I believe in the story because I enjoyed the anime and want to see the ending and how the story is going.
Quick summary: - starts with 4 characters: a blond bully (M17), Arashi (M18), police woman, and natsu (F16) - they don’t remember how they got there, in the middle of the waves, then in a strange island where everything is quiet. No birds no animals not even ants. - they discover white beetles that attack them and made them look for a cave to be protected from rain as well. - when they go down through a waterfall, Arashi and Natsu decide to split from the rest of the group convinced that the police woman has kidnapped them. - these two encounter wild rats/rabbits (?) and flesh eating plants. - 5th character is introduced at the last chapter *he saved them from the plants and was the one who made the traps* - he tells them that this is a governmental project. And that bully guy tells the police woman that his mom has told him “I sold you for a million dollar”

I love this series so much, and the lack of an official translation makes me sad. :( Maybe with the upcoming netflix series, someone will pick this up? Anyway. I had forgotten how long it takes to establish the basic premise of the story; one volume in, the characters (and reader who hasn't read about it elsewhere) still don't know what's going on.
I love that the story takes its time here, focusing on just these initial four characters of what we'll later come to know as Team Summer B and their dynamic. Anxious, timid Natsu (who I like a lot as a protagonist with all her flaws, but if she grates on you, know that there are plenty of other character we'll switch to later) has a hard time even speaking loudly or speaking her mind at all and man-eating insects don't exactly improve her day...
The series is a post-apocolyptic science fiction masterpiece that is an synthesis of moving plots, dynamic characters and incredible world building. For any manga or enthusiasts of Japanese culture, there are also plenty of pieces of Japanese cultural notes embed in the work in the form of legacies to look out for. Although the artistic style may take some time get used to for some, definitely don't give up on it. The style is extremely detailed and after a few volumes one would surely recognize how it compliments the new world the author has crafted. As a sci-fi fan, it is truely one of the most original worlds and manga storylines I have ever read and of course a favorite of mine that I hope to follow for quite some time (due to its ongoing sereailization).
the main girl annoys me so bad like ahh but honestly id probably be the same like i like to think I'm built different but am i truly?? its really pretty tho we love survival eat that shit up ok ok I'm waiting for the other groups cause i don't rlly care about theirs they're not my favorite
hopefully main girl will get her shit together and become a baddie by the end stand character growth
LIGHT SPOILERS. At the time of writing this review, I have not finished the entire series. That being said, I found the ideas really compelling, even when the pace was slow. It is a lot like Planet of the Apes in terms of setting and the characters needing to find out for themselves that their lives as they knew them really are over.
The premise seems interesting and made me intrigued enough to continue with the manga - and I *know* that Tamura is setting up Natsu to grow A LOT as a character throughout the series, but ohmahgod she is insufferable.
Ch 1-178 (complete) What a fucking ride. There were ups and downs but overall im super satisfied with all the character arcs. Someone needs to take my phone from me bc I CANNOT be reading 30 manga volumes over two days instead of studying for exams
