For years, Sabrina's been harboring a crush on her smart, successful friend. Whenever she's hinted at her desires, Vivian's rejected her - but now that she's crashing with Vivian temporarily, the attraction is impossible to ignore.
When Sabrina drags Vivian to an animal shelter, Vivian falls head-over-heels for a fluffy grey puppy. To get the dog, she and Sabrina have to pretend to be a couple. That's going to feel strange, since she's always carried a torch for her carefree, spontaneous friend. But it's only this time... isn't it?
The shelter shares Sabrina and Vivian's story online, and they grapple with their newfound Internet fame. Each has their own reasons to go along with the fake relationship. But when both are suppressing their feelings for each other, how long will they be able to play pretend?
This was an enjoyable story of love and friendship, taking responsibility and learning to be responsible Jackson combines humor and witty dialogue within a story of friendships, love, loyalty and determination. The banter between the main characters had me laughing and at times frowning, because I could relate to it on a personal level. I have to say, I loved the segments from the perspective of Lady Gray…after all, who doesn’t love puppies and wonder how they would talk! Don’t think that this is all just fun and light-hearted, there are some lessons we can all take away from the story. Consequences of our decisions also affect others. Sometimes things may turn out favorably, sometimes it can be a struggle. Yes, it is a fun book, but don’t lose sight of a deeper message either. I think you will enjoy it, I did!
You've been friends like forever. She's your girl crush. If only she would realize you're her plus one. Bree and Viv are at a crossroads. Did I mention Lady Gray? There's a reason for that. I want you to read their story. It's good. Believe that!!!
