The Tribe #5

The Child

Rate this book
Velli knows things are too good to be true. She finally has almost everything. A mate that’s soon to be her husband, children, her best friend Reed, and a good relationship with her parents. Only one thing is missing—her daughter, Morgan.

Kane is ready to finally have Velli as his partner in every way. He knows how skittish she gets though, and is on edge as a series of events predict disaster in the most superstitious of ways.

When Velli goes missing minutes before the wedding, the race is on to find her. They find her easily but no one, not even Velli, can explain what happened to her during that time. They push through with the wedding anyway, but sinister forces are working to rip their family apart.

Forces much closer than any of them realize.

Hi! I’m Sarah Cass, author, nurse, mom of three, wife, and caretaker of six spoiled rescue cats. I’ve been writing stories for over 20 years, and they tend to get a little spicy, a little emotional, and a little mysterious—just the way I like them.

My published series include:
• The Dominion Falls Series – spicy historical western mystery/suspense (10 books & counting!)
• Holidays in Lake Point - A sweet small-town standalone romance collection (all set around holidays!)
• The Tribe – a shifter-based urban fantasy/paranormal romance
• And coming soon: Dark Sky Valley, a contemporary western romance set in the present-day version of Dominion Falls!

When I’m not writing or working as a nurse, you’ll find me crocheting, knitting, watching Friends or Star Trek for the millionth time, or plotting my family's next move—hopefully to Colorado!

Let’s connect—I love chatting with readers and fellow book nerds

Welcome back to the fabulous world of Vels and Kane. This book will not disappoint. The author has such a fine art of writing that you will get sucked into the series and never want it to end. Vels and Kane haven’t had an easy road but with Morgan tormenting Vels, Kane knows that they must do something. Things go haywire when Morgan gets to Kimi but Vels, Kane and they entire tribe step into action. The wedding, the fears and the unconditional love in this book makes it my top fav. I’m anxious to see where she takes us with Lily. Awesome writing with a storyline that will amaze you.

Anyone who has been reading this fabulous series , knows by now that things never go to plan for Nirvelli and Kane, so why on earth would their wedding be any different? Having returned to the Tribe's village along with their recently expanded family, it seems like the time has come to further cement their mating bond with a matrimonial one. However things do not run quite according to plan, and it seems like the family may be facing a mysterious magical threat from a source close to home.
This really is a series that goes from strength to strength with each book, by now the world building and lore is well established in the reader's mind and really grounds the characters and their stories. At the same time, each book expands our knowledge of the magical system just a little bit more, a great way of keeping the reader interested. While all the familiar and favorite characters are there , we also finally meet one that has been tantalizingly lurking on the edge of the story for quite some time, and it's an arrival that does not disappoint.

Magical read, I love all the twist and turns, the mystical and fantasy element of this series. It is pure escapism at its best, how each book unfolds new and more interesting elements to the overall story. Each book leaves you wanting the next, desperate to find out what's happening next. I have loved all so far each complexing and mysterious a little scary and worrying thrown into the mix. The bond the main characters all have which is gradually being extended as more join this inner circle, the children and all their talents and gifts have me both chuckling in delight and cringing for the parents, especially with the youngest ones. Fantastic read that I didn't want to put down.
