Hiro Fujiwara (藤原ヒロ in Japanese) is a Japanese manga artist.
The manga artist was once active under her previous pen name, Izumi Hiro (和泉 ヒロ) at the end of the 1990's but has abandoned the name after she won the Best Rookie award in the LMS for Kaeri Michi, Yuki no Netsu.
Her first series, which is also her latest ongoing work, Kaichō wa Maid-sama! (会長はメイド様!, translation Maid Sama!) is currently serializing in Hakusensha's monthly shōjo manga magazine, LaLa. This series is licensed by Tokyopop for North America, and an anime adaptation was broadcast during Spring 2010.
This is about a girl named Misaki Ayuzawa who is the school president of Seika High. Her family is going through a rough time financially, which leads her to working as a maid in a cafe. This is kept a secret until Usui, one of the most popular boys in school, discover this secret. Ever since then, he would not stop following her and talking to her. They go through crazy things and slowly open up to each other. Read this fun, hilarious manga and you will drown in a cloud of happiness. :)
It's fine, I'll come to save you as much as you want. I'll make you fall for me as much as you wish. Leave this to your master.
The things they go through in this volume was crazy! The hypnotizing guy is awesome, I loved what he did because of the fact that we see more of how strong Usui and Misaki are. I love the way everyone has each other's backs and how Misaki changes people and helps everyone. She always worries about others but no one worries about her. I am glad she met Usui because he has been so helpful to her.
It's painful when you get disappointed by the person you look up to.
The scene in the forest was so sweet, it was one of my favourite scenes in both the anime and the manga. I loved it so much, they way they slowly opened up to each other. It was so sweet and nice!
This made me laugh so much and I had a lot of fun reading this. I can't wait to read more, it made me feel much better.
I highly recommend this to anyone who is feeling down and needs a fun read. Also, I recommend this to those who haven't read any manga yet. If you have read manga and are looking for another good read, this is the perfect one for you! I am going to read the next volume now! Bye!
I liked it. It dragged 100%, but it wasn’t terrible. I’m ready for some character development. Not character dragging-out-to-extend-the-number-of-volumes-in-the-series. I don’t want to become disinterested in the series so I’m going to take a break. I need a breather. Manga is for my slumps! I’m not in a slump. Back on the shelf you go, Maid-Sama. Think about what you did!
I hated the extra unnecessary 100 pages. Those were BS noncannonical stories. No thank you. Not my favorite volume in the series that’s for sure.
"Over the past few days, you got to see the girls up close. Were they as weak and delicate as you thought they were? Isn't it time you stopped running away?"
3.75 stars Another lovely installment in this series, but nothing particularly stood out. Just hints of things to come. I wait...impatiently, but nonetheless I wait...
rasa cemburu Usui yang hanya ingin mendapatkan perhatian Pres sungguh imutttt 💖💖 President, Ayuzawa Misaki semakin goyah akan setiap godaan Usui 😚😍 Setiap lelucon gombal akan menjadi sesuatu yang serius 🎆 Dari Kanou kita paham sesungguhnya rasa benci dimulai dari trauma masa lalu 🙏 Let's forgive our past and move on 👍
While I didn't hate this volume I'm finding that the plot is getting rather lackluster. I didn't much like the end to the hypnotist trials and find the plot after that not really getting anywhere.
Unfortunately the whole premise is starting to feel contrived because it seems the author doesn't know where to go with it. :(
Adorable volume (just like all of them really), but I did find that this one didn't have too much substance to it, which bothered me a bit. Still, I loved getting to see Aoi again and thought the beach plot was cute c:
The two short stories at the end of the volume (the demon island/maid cafe combo and the story on the three idiots) were pretty entertaining too c:
Chapter notes below for reference: (spoiler heavy)
Misaki and Usui: This pair continues to be strong characters all throughout this volume, and we even get to see some of Usui's jealous side, which was refreshing as we always seem him as calm and collected. We also see Misaki'a kindness when she steps up to help Aoi win a beach volleyball tournament so he can win back his right to dress however he wants.
Aoi; I felt a lot more sympathetic for Aoi in this volume than I did in the previous. He was a lot more vulnerable to me in this volume as he struggles to get his aunt to understand him better.
Kanou: well the weakest character by far, I couldn't help but like this socially awkward nerdy guy.
THE BAD
Nagisa: Aoi's aunt and the boss's sister, Nagisa seems like a cheerful enough character, but I just didn't like her or her treatment of Aoi. Seems like this family needs to have a talk with Aoi's father about how it's wrong to try and change your children.

Depression comes knocking and I run towards romance mangas (well, specifically Maid-sama! but whatever). This manga/anime will always be a source of comfort for me. I think I was about 12 years old when I first saw the anime, frantically searching for each episode as it was divided into sixteen parts. This series was there for me when I didn't understand my derailing mental health and it's here for me now when I'm capable of understanding my derailing mental health but unable to get it back on track. I'm going through it folks but rn all that matters is Misaki and Usui holding hands. Sure, it can be super cringe (and many scenes did not age well 😬 but I'm not getting into that) but it's still helping me come to terms with the inherent embarrassment that comes with being alive. That being said, Vol.1 and Vol.3 are probably my favourite so far, mainly because of the nostalgia and the sports day chapters.
The slow progression of the romance is just so good. Misaki is falling and Usui knows it but he won't do anything too brash again because he doesn't want her to be on guard and put off by him. But Misaki's been relying on Usui so much and she doesn't fully comprehend just how close they've gotten. And that last chapter?? Yeah, had my heart going pitter-patter, pitter-patter.
Love it.
On another note, I liked Kanou's character. Seeing the opposing view to Misaki's where a guy is apprehensive of girls was quite nice.
The art is just so pretty! I've saved so many panels. The eyes, the mouths, the EXPRESSIONS!!
And lastly, I love the little bts they do of the volume cover. It's always hilarious.

I really enjoyed this volume set at the beach. My favorite part is Usui-how sweet and caring he is for Misaki. Some of the ways he does that are very unusual, but the sweetest part is when Usui scares Misaki in the dark and when she collapses, shaking he just holds her. She doesn't bat him away instantly, but realizes that she actually feels safe with Usui and just lets herself be held and take of for the moment. At least until Aoi ruins the moment, but whatever. It is a romantic comedy. Anyways, A decent read and highly entertaining while waiting for my dad to get groceries at Costco. Got another book down and getting caught up with my goal! Yay!!

It's obvious that Usui has fallen for Misaki. He always tried his best to protect Misaki from anything--including the reason why he didn't want Misaki to win the volleyball game. Then, about Misaki.. she just doesn't know yet that she also took an interest in Usui. So, we'll see on the next volume whether their story will be sweeter or not.
The volleyball tournament was so funny. Misaki and Aoi really acted like siblings. We also got to see Usui and Misaki grow closer. The fact she really thought Usui was going to let her win because he’s always by her side helping her and she felt betrayed because this time he wasn’t. And in the end she finds out he was jealous and she was like oh that’s it. The bonus chapter was also silly but I kinda already knew it because I’ve seen the anime.
