Aeon 14: Origins of Destiny #3

Tanis Richards: Blackest Night

The MICI sends Tanis on her toughest mission yet.

In OuterSol a handshake often comes with a knife in the back.

It’s been six months since the events on Europa. During that time, Tanis and the Kirby Jones have been working to uncover who was behind her betrayal and the oligarch’s near assassination.

But when a routine intel handoff with the Jovians takes a turn for the worst, Tanis finds herself deeper in the spy game than she ever wanted to be.

Now, on a short timetable to get to Earth, she just has to make a short stop at Saturn. Yet when she arrives, Tanis finds things to be going just like they always are.

Crazy.

Malorie Cooper likes to think of herself as a dreamer and a wanderer, yet her feet are firmly grounded in reality.

A ‘maker’ from an early age, Malorie loves to craft things, from furniture, to cosplay costumes, to a well-spun tale, she can’t help but to create new things every day.

A rare extrovert writer, she loves to hang out with readers and people in general. If you meet her at a convention, she just might be rocking a catsuit, cosplaying one of her own characters, or maybe her latest favorite from Overwatch!

She shares her home with a brilliant young girl, her wonderful wife (who also writes), a cat that chirps at birds, a never-ending list of things she would like to build, and ideas…

Ye gods!!! Great story. Enough action and suspense for any adrenaline junkie. AND we found something Tanis is afraid of. She really IS human after all!

Definitely darker...

It's like a game of chess, move and countermove, planning many moves ahead. Tanis and Darla are the right team for the job, though there is something about the AI that doesn't quite sit right with me... I look forward to book 4 to see what happens.

Adventure and ...

I have been a fan of the Aeon 14 books for awhile now. I was excited when M. D. Cooper finally started writing about the origins of Tanis Richards. There is so much texture to this character that it has always been obvious to me she must have a lot of history in his imagination.
I have read this series from book 0 to book 4 now (there are 5...so far). I have the same thing to say about all the Origins of Destiny Books; they are a great ride from page one. M. D. Cooper is the kind of story teller that paints pictures as he goes.
If you have not read the Aeon 14 books there is almost a myriad of starting points. The best book to begin with, in my opinion, is Outsystem: A Military Science Fiction Space Opera Epic (Aeon 14: The Intrepid Saga Book 1). You will know by the end of the book if you are hooked. Enjoy the read :)

A great read as the current origins of destiny thread continues. More suspense and action, balanced as ever with good character interactions and some emotional scenes. I found the descriptions of Saturn very evocative, really get a feel of what it could be like in the future around the gas planets. Tanis and Darla in good form here, and their crew continuing to shine as well. A few new other players introduced as well, which add a bit more tension, both with character dynamics and the plot, while at the same time not being clear antagonists or protagonists which I think is good, as things are seldom black and white. All round, a great read!

Hard core, military Tanis is back in this third book of the Origins of Destiny series. There's still a lot of unanswered questions as to Tanis's background but I really enjoyed getting back to the action and having Tanis back as Tanis for the most part. I loved the ending and I'm looking forward to reading the next one and also finding out what is going to happen with Harm.

A thrilling future spy adventure

A great future spy book that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Great characters with realistic situations and lots of action and adventure.
Travel around the solar system, while trying to find double agent and prevent world shattering disasters.
I look forward to more from this series 😁

Best of the Origins arc so far

Tanis continues to be really badass and takes some unimaginable risks in this one (yes, it does require the suspension of disbelief) and manages to pull through battered and bruised but alive. The science was especially good in this one. Really curious to see what becomes of Harm in his current condition

I am loving this series of the early Tanis, and we find a area that can make Tanis think :-) But that makes her even more human to us readers. She continues to look at finding out who is pulling the strings around her, and also Division 99. Another great read.

Just keeps getting better.

I was not sure how much I would enjoy these early stories, I worried for nothing. This was a fantastic read, with an exciting story and fantastic character development. M.D. Cooper has another hit in my opinion.

That was interesting

It has twists you will enjoy. There will be some misdirects and have you thinking about what is going to happen next. Finally you will want to give someone a good old fashioned attitude adjustment

I found this book to be quite good. It was interesting but not (in my mind) the author's best work!
