Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

Liked these three better than the first collection.

There really is something addictive about these books. In some ways it's carbs and chocolate. Not the best but by the last word of each book there is a chemical need to start reading the next. I loved the first and last story in this one. They had plenty of action, worlds fully fleshed out and likeable characters. Sexy times (there are a LOT) were authentically well done with little to no angst.

The second book was like the first set. Too much angst. Should have been shorter. Nothing kills a sex scene more than constant internal dialog filled with repetitive angst. I liked the characters in the beginning, nearly hated them during the middle and was ok by the end.

Please stop using past sexual abuse over and over as THE plot.

I have purchased the third set and have read reviews saying this series gets better.

Please note you cannot read these as standalones. Each story has several couples involved to some degree and always pulls from past books. They are interconnected.

OVERALL: ~3.8 Stars

Revealed (Brides of the Kindred #5) - 4 Stars

Nadiah has been looking for a kindred male to challenge her blood bond. Now that the bond is growing stronger she is running out of time. Rast steps in to declare that he will fight for her but he doesn't realize exactly what he is getting himself into.

I really didn't like Rast at first, I'm sure that was the intended feeling by the author. His spirit and protective nature with Nadiah did grow on me.

I though their story was interesting and it incorporated really well into what previously happened while expanding the plot into multiple avenues. I'm really excited to see what is going to happen next. Merrick seems just like a character out of Firefly.

Pursued (Brides of the Kindred #6) - 3.5 Stars
Elise has been put out to the stars, well more accurately in a stasis pod and Merrick has the fortunate luck of finding her. Now they have formed an artificial bond and have to journey to find a sacred vine to undo it or die trying.

The story was not as adventurous as I thought it would be. This one I have to say seemed the most disturbing by far to me in terms of character background. Unlike the other books I found myself to be more distant from Elise and Merrick as characters and did not connect so much with their story as a whole. It was interesting the new plot information we found out, especially about Draven.

Exiled (Brides of the Kindred #7) - 4 Stars
Tasked with the almost impossible task of getting the scrolls back from the horde wars is just one of Lissa's many problems as a timid girl who has to venture into a female dominated society. Not only that but with the one man who she has loved forever but is off limits.

I was pleasantly surprised that I liked this book so much. I thought Lissa was such a ho-hum character in the previous books that I didn't think I was going to like her story. Saber played his part really well.

One thing I really didn't understand was what Draven did but overall I am happy that things ended up the way they did and that the series is going to keep going.

WHEW!!! These books are so hot they're on FIRE! Just as good as the books in Volume 1. These Kindred sure put Earthmen to shame!!
The only downside is that her editor(s) could have done a better job (but since it's very similar to what I do for a living, it may stand out more to me). The little mistakes tended to trip me up here and there, breaking up the great flow of the read. That being said:
I continue to enjoy how Ms. Anderson builds up the relationships between all the characters continuously, so that you're always getting glimpses into each characters' life, feelings, thoughts, etc. She does a great job describing her characters as well - I cried HARD for them (Pursued - UGH, ugly crying), ached with them, worried with them, everything. And the sex scenes are so perfectly graphic (although more delicate readers might not enjoy some of the wording she uses)... mmmmm. ;) I'm so happy I decided to get these books for myself as my birthday present!

Loved the first books in the series. The first book was by far my favorite. Wish she would have gone back to the whole claiming period process at some point. By the last book in this set I was tired of hearing the heroine whine all the time. The whole trip to the x-rated world with Mr. big and bad dominate having to act like a slave to the whiny timid girl just lost me. I know it is typical to introduce the characters for the next book in the current book, but every once and awhile it would be nice to have a fresh face that hasn’t been seen before.

Love conquers all.

All 3 stories in this Volume are about Human females being mated to a Kindred Male or other Aliens. There are two partners for one female with amazing sexual abilities as well as different types of Kindred. The females all get together to tell each other about their amazing partners and eat cake. Behind the scenes an Evil presence who has been locked away for a thousand years is now trying to make plans.

Brides of the Kindred vol. 2

I love Evangeline’s romance and drama. I just get a bit annoyed when she keeps bringing in previous characters. I’m totally addicted so I have to keep reading. If you like big handsome guys who love to pleasure their female mates, then these are some fun reading material.

Excellent book series

Excellent book. I am glad I spent money to buy this book. I will probably read all of the books in the series. This author is really good at weaving stories together. It doesnt feel fake at all, even though it is sci-fi.
