Yes! A chapter book my son really identified with. Uncle Bembe, the mentor, is an example of the outsider who grows up to be a happy and fufilled adult, who is also a Black Business Owner. He deserves an entire series.

My son read this book as part of his summer reading. He finished the book without a fight, which is always a good sign. I think he really related to the characters because he love art.

Well written from a new perspective. This chapter book follows a young boy who feels different. He has self isolated himself and lost the desire to fit in with the other boys in his neighborhood. This is until the day his Uncle Bembe shows him the beauty in being different and true to himself. Highly recommended.
