Sea Monsters Don't Ride Motorcycles

Rate this book
The hugely popular early chapter book series re-emerges with a new look! Brand-new eye-catching cover art brings a modern feel to this classic monster series for young readers.

The Bailey School kids join Eddie's grandmother at the motorcycle races where they get to know Jessie, a mysterious motorcycle rider. But as the kids learn about Jessie -- she loves the sea, knows all about sea monsters, is dripping wet whenever she appears, and is the cousin of Nessie, a woman the kids were certain was the Loch Ness Monster -- they get suspicious. If Jessie wins the grand prize, she's going to build a seaside resort where Eddie's grandmother will move -- and she'll take Eddie with her! Can the kids stop Jessie from winning and keep Eddie in Bailey City where he belongs?

This one was okay, but, Nessie wasn't the racing coach...she was the one who taught the kids how to scuba dive, and all that. The mermaid was the racing coach, so Ms. Dadey got those two screwed up, even the kids remembered it since we read it so recently.

I liked the story Jessie told though about the sea monsters. Even if she was a sea monster, I don't think she's that dangerous. I think she's pretty cool.

The collection of "The adventures of the Bailey School Kids" stories are among my all-time favorite children's books. Witty, mischievous and fun, these short and silly books continue to bring giggles to the young and old. Just as I have enjoyed them as a kid, my own children also love them today. I even catch myself re-reading them (alone) from time to time. What can I say? I guess I'll always be a BSK kid at heart.

The Bailey School Kids is a best-selling children's book series by Marcia Thornton Jones and Debbie Dadey. Its main characters are a group of four children (Eddie, Howie, Liza, Melody) who suspect some persons in the stories are popular folk lore or fairy tale characters. They are appealing because they mix a familiar story in with this group of kids. Mid-grammar school

I thought it was really clever and I thought it was cool and I like how the girl could swim really fast.

I had to add at least one from this serious. In total, I own 40. I was addicted to them growing up. Fond memories from the beginings of a book worm!

I liked this book because Eddie is the one who usually finds out the mystery but this time Howie figured it out. I liked that.

Read these all in while I was in middle school and loved them, giving them a 3.5-4.0 for my past 12 year old self.

They took a vacation to Sheldon city raceway. They went there to watch motorcycle race. The monster was the best motorcycle. A girl rode the monster! her name was Jessie.

more far fetched than the other bailey books. I did like that grandma rides a motorcycle. kids will like it. I wish they would have named an actual type of sea monster instead of leaving it generic.
