Fangirl #1

All Access

Rate this book
Every fangirl has a fantasy . . . what happens when that “if only” dream comes true?

Kallie Reagan is a divorced mom in Smalltown, USA, who does what every other rational woman does in her spare time: she writes a romance novel starring the real-life rock star who dominates her every fangirl fantasy. (And a good chunk of her waking thoughts, too.)

Niles Russell is blown away that someone would write a book about him. It’s too intriguing not to investigate. So he does the unimaginable: he reaches out to the author . . . and tells her he wants to meet her.

After five seconds in the same room together, sparks are flying (albeit awkwardly) between Niles and Kallie, and an insta-connection is made. But can a "normal" girl really get her never-in-her-wildest-dreams happily-ever-after? Or will their complicated pasts and crazy careers stand in the way?

All Access is a sweet-with-heat romantic women’s fiction sure to fan your own fangirl flames. Start reading today and dive into a world of pure, escapist fun!

I got a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review :) and I definitely have some very mixed feelings about it... *sighs* it started off really good, but unfortunately the more I got into it, the more things kept bothering me... ultimately, after struggling back and forth a little bit with my thoughts, I gave this book 3 stars... it's the first book in a series, and the sequel, about the same couple, is already available, but don't worry, this book does not end on a cliffhanger of any sorts :) my review will be a bit shorter and less detailed than what I normally write, because I don't really like to focus on bad things in stories I read, it's much more pleasureable to write positive reviews ;)

The best way to describe this book is to say that it's a fangirl's fantasy dream come true ;) we have Kallie, a thirtysomething divorced woman with two kids, who wrote a book about an everyday woman who falls in love with her rock star idol ;) and she based said rock star on Niles Russell, her real life rock star crush :) after reading her book and seeing all the similarities he reaches out to her, and then... well... things start to change pretty quickly :) in fact, the book takes place over a span of a few weeks ;) was this story a realistic one? not one bit ;) did it bothered me? to be honest... not really ;) I don't need all my books to feel like they could happen in real life ;) sometimes it's actually nice to escape for a moment from reality ;) it's a contemporary romance and the whole book tells the story of them getting together ;) I don't really want to get into any more details about what exactly happens between them, instead I want to tell you guys all about my thoughts and feelings about the good and the bad of this book :) worry not, no spoilers and only respectful language ahead ;)

When I said the book started of really good, I meant it :) it was light and funny, and even though Kallie's reactions to first meeting Niles were... let's just call them awkward, I can't really blame her for that... mainly because I remember the first time I went to see my favourite band live ;) I acted like a total teenager, screaming and all around acting crazy, sooooo... no judgement about that ;) what I did have problems with, is the childish behaviour of both our main characters, but mostly Kallie... *sighs* when I read a book about people who are over thirty and actually went through some things in their lives, I expect that they will act like adults... not teenagers... there's a reason why I very rarely read YA books in general... I really don't like unnecessary angst and stupid misscommunications and conflicts that could have been resolved if two people just talked honestly with each other... so naturally I expected that Kallie and Niles would be acting like adults... unfortunately, I was dissapointed... mainly about Kallie... and don't get me wrong, I don't want people I read about to be perfect... it wouldn't feel real... people are flawed and I don't mind that at all... but when my main character acts like a hormonal teenager it starts to annoy me pretty quickly... there was also the fact that Kallie is a mother, and we barely see her kids throughout the whole book... I mean, I know that they are away for the summer with her ex-husband, but still... for being such a huge part of her life, they are way too absent... not to mention that there was one tiny scene, that really made me mad... when she missed talking to her daughters for a few days, because she didn't answer a call from an unknown number... I'm sorry, but if you're a parent, and your kids are away, you take EVERY call... you don't know what might've happened and what message you'll miss if you keep ignoring unknown numbers... maybe it was a small thing, but it really upset me... the more I read about her relationship with Niles, the more I felt like it was too much too fast... that's why Sara, her friend, was my absolute favourite character in the book :) she was honest and every time she talked with Kallie I was like *YES!!! you're right!!! why they don't listen to you?!?* ;) because of that immature behaviour I mentioned, I had troubles truly connecting to either main character... and because of that, the closer I was to the end of the book, the more eye-rolling and sighing was happening... all in all, I think the writing style wasn't bad, especially for a debut novel, but there's definitely room for improvement... if you already read, and loved the book, I'm happy that you enjoyed it more than me ;) but if you're wondering about picking it up, definitely don't let me completely discourage you from it :) read a few more reviews, because there were others who thoroughly enjoyed this story :) and that's amazing :) it just wasn't for me, but I hope that my opinion will help you make up your own decision about it ;)

Kallie Reagan cannot believe the book she wrote, loosely based on her favorite rock star took off and has become wildly popular. It that wasn't enough when she receives text from said rock star, she never thinks she will meet him in person.

Niles Russell has it all, but the man you see on stage is quite a bit different. Niles seeks Kallie out and invites her to his concert. They meet and grow closer, but everything they do is under a microscope. Kallie is dealing with her ex, trying to raise her children and juggle Niles. Niles has his own hangups he needs to move past in order to have a real relationship with Kallie, honesty is the one thing both will have to work on to work it out.

Intriguing story. Liked the idea of crush coming to life and being more than you expected in a good way. I thought both characters had a honest quality about them that I could easily see each situation. Very curious to see what the author does next.

This book is a bit odd. On the face of it, the female protagonist is aged 30, a single mom of 2 with a divorce behind her. And yet, her behaviour and the narative voice are both of a much younger person - probably late teens. And that impression is compounded by the fact that she refers to herself as a girl (not a woman) and behaves completely like a fangirl.

The underlying story is reasonable and the writing style is solid. But my issue with the voice is a little jarring for me. And this really does read like fan fiction. For me, it was a bit ... run of the mill.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a pleasant surprise! I found this with Kindle Unlimited and once I started, I couldn't put this cute book down. Kallie Reagan, a divorced mother of two, wrote a romance book and the male character was inspired by her celebrity crush rockstar Niles Russell. When she receives text messages out of the blue from the rockstar after he read her book, a fairytale becomes true for Kallie and when she meets the man of her dreams, sparks fly. Can there really be a happily ever after for her and her rockstar crush or is it all just a dream?

I really enjoyed reading this story and will definitely read book 2 to see where the story leads us to. I've read this book in one go and I can't wait to read more about the writer and her rockstar. Really cute story!

I made It Through!

This book should be classified under fantasy instead of romance. If this was done in real life, Kattie would have been sued before the book hit the sales floor. Why would anyone famous track down a creepy stalker fan? I'm gave it an extra star because I did cry when they broke up but other then that, it was really hard to finish.

Oh how I love fan fiction, my crush, the heartthrob that has been beside me on a poster, in my ear as music and all around me in bio's and albums.

And this story is me, well I wish. I wish it were me meeting the object of my affection.
Yes even at, ahemmm, an older adulty age. I still fangirl hard. Why not, who does it hurt. No one. And I write fanfic too oooohhhhhh... *shush*, don't tell. (Please Note: not good enough to publish though haha)
So this story was right there in my heart from the get go.
Can't wait to read more of Liberty's Library!!

This was a middle of the road read for me. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. It felt like a very surface-level book. The characters felt a little flat for me. It felt like the author was trying to force them to have a deeper level of emotion than they really did. We have two overly jealous ex's that love trying to cause drama but just annoyed me. The romance also felt kind of awkward to me. Overall an okay read.

Satisfying read. A must read for anyone who has ever had a fangirl crush (ehem, me: #HenryCavillAfterGlow.) Likeable characters. Sweet story. Some of the secondary characters seemed treated like an afterthought, particularly the ex-husband and best friend, but did not take away from the overall fantasy of meeting and falling in love with your star crush. Easy to recommend!

Enjoyable, quick read with likable characters. What would happen if you obsessed about your favorite lead singer in a popular band? What if you changed the names and wrote a book about their relationship? What if, after that, you met said singer and clicked? This book explores that and more!

I went back and forth while reading this new-to-me author, alternately enjoying the heck out of the story and then wanting to throat-punch the characters. The writing warrants four stars, however, the characters ultimately fell short for me. Kallie’s and Niles’s inner conflicts and past wounds, while clearly presented, lacked the depth necessary to make it more than the “required” element of conflict merely stuck in. All that said, if you’re looking for a well-written, fun story All Access fills the bill.

Star rating: 5 freaking enormous cheering stars

I was lucky enough to get my hands on an advance copy of this romantic women's fiction debut by Liberty Kontranowski a couple of weeks before its release. I'm pretty sure the universe knew I needed this book, because I was sucked right in to the story from page one.

True story #1: I fangirled ALL OVER this book from the first chapter.

True story #2: ALL ACCESS will satisfy your every summer-book-love and beach-reading wish, want, and desire. And even better, it's book one of a series. I can't wait to read book two once it's out!

ALL ACCESS begins with a never-in-someone's-wildest-dreams-would-this-happen fantasy come true, and it's amazing. Kallie Reagan, an author with a recently-released best-selling book, and a thirty-something divorced mother of two, gets the text of a lifetime. It's from Niles Russell, the lead singer of her favorite band, and also her muse and inspiration who happens to be the basis of the male main character in her book, Nash. Niles read Kallie's book and found the similarities between him and Nash more than a little coincidental. Then he had his people track down Kallie's people to get her phone number. And so we get the scenario of Kallie being on the receiving end of flattering, entertaining, and playful texts that could be every fangirl's daydream come true.

Oh, and one more thing–Niles wants to meet Kallie, and asks if she's coming to his upcoming concert. He arranges for her to have a front-row ticket and as it ends up, wants to hang out with her after the concert. Um, SQUEEEEEEE! (I mean, I seriously did this. That's just how into this book I was from those first chapters. Not kidding.)

I'm not big on giving the plot away in my reviews, so I'll sum this up by saying what follows is not only the most awesomely magical dreams-and-wishes-come-true story I've read in a long time, but also one that shows how complex relationships and communication can be. As Kallie and Niles discover love, confusion, and unanswered questions, we see the very emotionally spot-on fears, tender moments, growth, and doubt that flow within romantic relationships. Kallie and Niles also show how you can only really know someone else if they're willing to open up and let you in. A big theme in this book is about being honest and about each character showing the other person their true self (in other words, being real). It's a good reminder for all of us.

Another huge theme in ALL ACCESS is "anything is possible." It's this that gives the story such a magical quality and had me cheering for Kallie and Niles throughout every triumph and stumbling block. At its heart, this book is about finding inspiration, following that inspiration, and daring to dream.

There truly aren't enough great things I can say about ALL ACCESS. It's exceptionally well-written, and I found myself flying through the pages in anticipation of what would happen next. When it was over, I both had that post-book reader satisfaction that comes with a truly engaging and entertaining read, and the "ahhhhhhh" of wanting more of these characters!

In summary: READ IT, READ IT, READ IT! And join me in requesting that book two of this series finds its way into our hands soon.

What's a fangirl to do when her fantasy dream of finding love with her favorite rock star comes true?

Author Kallie Reagan is fangirl obsessed with rock star Niles Russell. She is so obsessed that she wrote a book about him! And guess what ... he read it! When Kallie receives a text from Niles asking if she wrote the book about him, she had no idea that her fantasy was about to become true, when he asks her if she wants to meet him. What starts out as a fangirl obsession leads Kallie and Niles on an all access journey that will take them from friendship to love.

All Access is an entertaining romantic women's fiction that follows a modern day Cinderella type of romance story that will keep the reader hooked from beginning to end. Author Liberty Kontranowski weaves a delightful story told in the first person narrative by fangirl author Kallie Reagan, who takes the reader along for the ride when her fantasy of meeting and befriending rock star Niles Russell comes true. As their relationship develops, it becomes clear that the story in her book is now coming to life, as Niles surprises her with the romantic things that Nash did for Emily. But their blossoming relationship is complicated by trials and tribulations like a jealous ex-husband and ex-girlfriend, and personal issues / struggles that makes them decide to give an all access pass to each other's lives in order for their relationship have a chance to grow.

The author weaves an enjoyable story that the readers can relate to, especially when they have a fangirl crush on their favorite celebrity, who just happens to be their fantasy object of desire. I really enjoyed following the development of Kallie and Niles' relationship, from their witty banter and swoon worthy connection, to how they dealt with the variety of trials and tribulations that came up along the way, the interweaving of fantasy and reality made their story that much more compelling and left me wanting more. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention how much I loved that the storyline featured a romance between an author and a rock star, what could be hotter than a mixture of literature and music to make the story that much more enticing!

All Access is a well-written romantic women's fiction that takes the reader on an enjoyable and emotional roller coaster ride, and leaves them wanting more. I can't wait to read the continuation of Kallie and Nile's story in the next installment of the series!

All Access is the perfect beach read to wile away on a sultry summer day!

All Access is the first book in The Fangirl Series.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book from the author / publisher in exchange for my honest review and participation in a virtual book tour event hosted by Chick Lit Plus Blog Tours.

Imagine you are obsessed with a band member, a musician and you are a writer? What would you do? Would you base your characters on him/her? Would your story be a fan fiction of their lives? Now imagine what would happen if that band member contacted you after reading your book?
That is what happened to Kallie after her divorce, she decided to write a romance book and use herself as muse for the female character Emily and her favourite artist Niles Russell as the inspiration behind the male lead Nash. Out of the blue, Kallie gets a text from NR aka Niles saying how he loved the book and wants to meet , she thinks it's her best friend Sara messing with her and playing a prank. What will happen when it turns out to be the "real" Niles Russell- her ultimate fan girl crush? Kallie goes to visit him at his concert in Chicago and from there , the pair meet and are about as nervous as each other - I really liked that Liberty made them both act nervous as you would both be if you were in this situation and it made the meeting more realistic. As the story goes along , this pair starts moving in the way that reminded me of the Tom Cruise/ Katie Holmes love story when Katie on Oprah admitted she used to have posters of Tom Cruise on her wall and she was his heartthrob to a real relationship. However, in order to make this relationship work the pair must learn to be completely honest with one another and not only open themselves to what the public sees and what they want to be seen but completely open and give each other and All Access pass to their lives as without honesty and truth - there can be no basis for a relationship.
If you are wanting a fan girl meets celebrity - a Cinderella story of sorts with a quirky romantic comedy spice to it, then get ready and grab your passes as you head into the realm of an "All Access" book by Liberty Kontranowski.

All Access is certainly a fantasy dream story come true. Meet Kallie Reagan, a divorced mother of two, after writing her first romance book based around lead singer of a band, Niles Russell, basing his charcter as Nash and basing the female character, Emily on herself, imagine the surprise when Kallie gets the text out of the blue from none other than Niles Russell himself. At first she thinks it is her friend Sara playing a prank but as she exchanges more messages it clearly is the one and only Niles. Niles tells Kallie he has read her book and found the similarities between himself and Nash more a little coincidental. After getting his people to track her phone number down, he wants to meet up at his next concert in Chicago. After giving her front row tickets and an invite to meet up after, Kallie finally can live the dream!. As we follow these two on a magical journey, can dreams really come true or can life come crashing down around you?.
Liberty has a way with words and completely draws any reader in. From the first few pages i knew this was going to be good. She writes with empathy and really shows how this situation comes about. I was sucked in to the fantasy world of Kallie and Niles. I instantly liked Niles and felt that Kallie could be my BFF.
I really enjoyed following how their relationship developed and progressed, we got to experience a few trials and tribulations along the way from an ex husband, an ex girlfriend, lots of eager fans and parts where they need to let their guards down in order to let each other in. This is a perfect example of Dreams can come true.
I was so gutted when i got to the end, as i fell in love with this hot new couple and there is so much more that can be told from their love story. I need more. So much so i actually sent Liberty Kontranowski a message asking when book 2 would be out. And people, its on the way....

Even though I'm a sucker for romantic comedy movies, I don't read many books in the Romance (or Romance-related) genres. I always worry that the characters will be too flat or predictable, or that the love scenes will make me want to barf. HOWEVER, I was excited to read All Access because it took a premise every fangirl could relate to (pining for a musician who doesn't know you exist) and added an irresistible hook (what if that musician not only knew you exist, but also wanted to meet you?). As someone who once spent an unreasonable amount of time obsessing over boy band members and asking similar "what if" questions to the universe, I couldn't possibly say no.

Kallie, the narrator, is someone I'd probably be friends with IRL. She's savvy and relatable but also quick to doubt herself when something goes wrong, and I could imagine myself in a heart-to-heart conversation with her. The author has a knack for dialogue -- I laughed out loud several times during the conversations between Kallie and her best friend -- and tells a romantic story that's witty and heartfelt. That being said, there were a couple times when I wanted to shake both Niles AND Kallie because they were being dense... But that's all part of the game of love, right? :)

I'd recommend this book to my fellow fangirls, of course, but also to romantic comedy addicts. It would make an A+ beach companion!

Cozy romance

All a bit cozy and I felt, at times, just a step up from Sweet Dreams romances from the 80’s. Teenage angst, swoony moments, weird words (squee! 🙄) and silly lack of confidence moments - but from a mother of two. I felt like she should’ve been a bit more confident and kick arse than she was (just tell Robbyn to mind her own business and go f*ck herself, FFS). I was a bit turned off by her lack of Mum phone calls and visits too. Maybe just a girl who’s recently broken up with the husband would have been better. Not sure why the kids were apart of the story.
Sorry, I just didn’t click with either of the characters and found myself skimming in the end. 🤷‍♀️

I really enjoyed this story. I liked the correlation between the 2 stories because they are in sync but also opposites. I wished that Niles could be a little more original than copying Nash because I thought it was a little lame. I mean here is this author he is falling for and instead of using his own ideas he copies hers. However, if that is the only negative I could get from this story then it is awesome

I don't like writing negative reviews but I feel I have to be honest... the premise of this book sounded wonderful and I am a huge fan of rock star romances, so I dived in. The writing (language, grammar, etc.) and pacing of the book is fine, I just really struggled with the detail. I know books are for escapism, but unless you are in an alternate world or reading paranormal, fantasy or sci-fi, it still needs to have realistic elements.
Sorry, there are probably going to be some spoilers listed her...
This woman is early 30's (?) and a mother of two and a divorcee and yet she came across like a ditzy teenager. I also didn't really feel any of the supposed emotion between the two MC's. I also can't believe that a mother of two children who had been in a 'neglectful' marriage would be willing to get involved in a relationship with the terms the male MC outlined.
Based on what is written in the books, the two MC's barely slept over a period of days/weeks and yet she could still function enough to write a novel and he could perform a concert to packed crowds nearly every night?? Also, the timelines didn't seem to work with the rockstar achieving fame, the end of her marriage and when she wrote her book about him. Another thing that really stood out to me was that he is apparently a germaphobe to the point where he doesn't use his tongue for kissing (except with her) and then he kisses her after she has vomited??
Finally, I don't think the female MC is a very good mother or a best friend with her limited contact and caring, however saying that, her best friend seems like a total bitch. Sorry, for the rant, I guess I am just disappointed as the storyline had such potential.
