WOW!! OBSESSED, Book 2 of the Lace Underground Series, is harder for me to review without spoilers than, Book 1, CAPTIVE was....so, this won’t take long....❤️🌼🔥
Since Detective Angie Tennyson is still deep undercover in the Lace Underground, Detective James Maddox, her partner, or possibly ex-partner, and the man with whom Angie shares an unrequited and unfulfilled love, puts himself in danger, to “rescue” his “ Ten”, by also going undercover in the Lace Underground❤️🌼🔥
But, after her few months together with Kane, the questions are “Is Angie really in danger, need or want saving?” “Does Angie have real feelings for her captor, Kane, or are her feelings and actions due to a “Stockholm Syndrome-” type situation?? Is Kane really the “bad guy”, or is he just a misunderstood, and controlling “mad genius” and a man in love for the first time in his life?❤️🌼🔥
Lines are blurred, and Angie is more than confused, And, in my opinion, there is a vulnerability in Kane only his “Sweet Sin” can see....
This series is so intense, so different and just so INTENSE, (yes, I know I said “intense” twice!!!)❤️🌼🔥
This isn’t much of a review, but it’s the the best I can give you without ruining the book for you...and, trust me, you will be as happy as I am that Tess Oliver released these books together, because you will need, book 3, DEVOTED...IMMEDIATELY!!!❤️🌼🔥

Obsessed, it's not just the title of the book. It's what you will be while and after you are reading it, I don't think I could turn pages fast enough! I just my ARC copy and couldn't wait to review it. Again like book 1 of the 3 book Lace Underground series, it's told in several POV's. What I've learned most about that is you can't help buy love this villain Kane Freestone, but the better question might be, is he really the villain he is portrayed to be by the Police Department? There is a lot more cat and mouse in this book, both with the character's action as well as their feelings. At one point in the book I had to put down my kindle and take a long hard look at all the characters, who am I truly rooting for. At another point during my read I noticed my knuckles were white from holding on so tightly to my kindle during the roller coaster of events. I must say I love Tess Oliver books, I am constantly rereading them because she's such a tremendous writer that I am always swept away in the writing that I feel I'm there in the books. With Lace Underground it's the same feeling and then some. The mystery, the intrigue, the cat and mouse between characters, she makes you question what's coming and throws curve balls when you think you have figured it out. I can't wait for Devotion and I can already tell this will be a trilogy I reread many many times!

Lace Underground

For the sake of honesty here, I was so torn about my feelings after reading the first book, I wasn't even sure I was going to continue with the series but I was invested enough that I had to see it through. I know I was torn because of the "nectar", I really struggled with the thought of being continuously injected and also how quickly the the drug works. I'm certainly not a prude and can fully appreciate some hot and sweaty time, and this story is filled with smokin HOT scenes, but I think my heart was with someone else. This second book gives us a better understanding of who Kane is, there's still so much we don't know but I feel as though his past is exceptionally dark and because of that he maybe feels unworthy. I'm hoping the next book provides those answers. I can understand Angie/Tawny's reaction to the nectar, can maybe even appreciate how the drug helps you lose the inhibitions. But I still struggle with how it affected her memory, because there's an extended period of her not being a detective, not mentioning anything about the assignment, and just being in the moment with Kane, craving that time really and I just wasn't sure there was room for Maddox. And I absolutely love James Maddox, he might not have completely understood his feelings but his intentions are very clear. And since this story really ends with a cliffhanger, I can't wait to see what happens next!

OBSESSED is book two in the Lace Underground series and must be read in order!

Just a few FYIs:
*Technically, this is NOT a love triangle, though Angie is torn between two men. *There are situations that may be a trigger for some (drug use, homelessness).
*Again, this ends in a cliffhanger and is part of a series of three!

This book begins a few weeks after the end of book one, I believe. Angie (aka Tawny, aka Ten) is struggling with her addictions...addiction with the "nectar" and with Kane Freestone. Her partner, James Maddox is desperate to find a way into the Lace Underground. Can he save Ten before she loses herself completely?

I read this book until I finished it at around 5 a.m. this morning. I literally COULD NOT put it down! Everything about the story fascinated me...the utter craziness of the Lace Underground, the dichotomy of Kane, the struggle Angie faced, Maddox's utter feelings of helplessness. There's so much angst and trepidation but then there's scenes that make you squirm or make you smile. And it all fits together like the perfect puzzle.

Make no mistake, this book is a dark, erotic thrill ride! I can't wait to dive into the conclusion. Told from multiple POVs with a happy cliffhanger. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

In between the fog, Angie wonders if she really wants out. Does she want to go back, back to who she was and all she knows? Or has she found her new normal.

Obsessed is just as consuming as Captive. Falling farther into this dark and seductive world is guaranteed. The intensity, the heat, the pain, sadness, all woven into a book that is hard to put down.

Around every corner this book will have you changing your opinion. On situations, on where the story is going to take you, and these passionate, deep and intense characters. Who do I love, who do I hate, who do I want to see more of. You will feel the roller coaster of emotions that Angie faces in this book. And you'll be left just as mixed up as she feels.

Obsessed (Lace Underground #2)

Angie is taken to the Lace Underground compound. She's pampered & mostly treated well but she's given 'nectar' multiple times a day. So her dependence to it grows her weight plummets because she has zero appetite & she starts to forget her purpose in going undercover in the first place. Kane is obsessed with her. They have many steamy encounters she seems to revel in. He's aloof though, there's little to no emotion shown from him unless it's related to sex!!😔 Maddox goes out of his mind trying to find out why Angie disappeared. When he finally finds out She'd undercover he's determined to save her!🙏

The sex scenes, although raunchy, always felt disconnected to me. I don't know if that's deliberate by the Author because Angie is drugged, or if I just disconnected because of her circumstances!?😕 This gets tense, dark & gritty!!😔 Kane is not a nice man!!😡

I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.

Wow, this new trilogy of Tess Oliver’s is intense! I will do my best to review Obsessed, but I will have to do so without getting into characters, as it will spoil it for you. I really loved Obsessed (Lace Underground, book #2). My love/hate relationship with the characters continued, except for Maddox, who has won me over. Obsessed, much like Captive (Lace Underground, book #1), will have you sucked in from page one until the very last page. Your emotions will be all over the place. Obsessed has so many twists and turns, ups and downs, it had my little heart working overtime. The sex scenes were out of this world HOT! Then, at the very end…the very last page had me saying, Wait…What??? NOOOOOO!!! That is all I am saying other than you really must read this new series from Tess Oliver.

This is book 2 in the series and it also doesn't dissapoint. This book picks up right in the middle of the mess that was the end of book 1. LOL This one gives us even more character depth and I love the back and forth persepctive. This book moves faster than the first in that we are well into the story and the natural progression is to have greater urgency. We fall further down the rabbit whole and it starts to feel like we may never see the end of the craziness. LOL It's impossible to put this series down and you'll be fully hooked by this point. Again, it ends in a cliffhanger so you better make sure you've got book 3 ready and waiting. Enjoy the chaos and the anticipation of the next twist and turn.

Holy moly!

Holy fudgesticks! I am not sure how much more my heart can take! This just gets better and better and twistier (not sure that's a word, but it is now!) Obsessed is Book Two in the Lace Underground Trilogy and is as fast paced as the first...and if possible, slightly darker.
This book had me crawling out of my skin as if the nectar was seeping through my veins! I could not turn the pages fast enough and my heart is still totally torn in two!! I cannot begin to describe how I feel....it has me all kinds of twisted up! Gah!!......and I don't want to give spoilers!
If you have read Captive, you HAVE to read this and see the journey through.....I know it will be totally worth it.....but that ending?!!! I need my next fix!!!

Obsessed is more than just the title. I am obsessed with this trilogy. Kane is obsessed with Angie. He calls her his poison and his downfall. Maddox is obsessed with rescuing Angie and Angie is obsessed with nectar, Kane and Maddox. I find I'm not sure who to root for. Kane doesn't seem so evil then he does something really bad and Maddox who breaks her heart in the beginning does something so sweet. I keep changing my mind. These books had me so sucked in that I couldn't do anything else until they were done. Now I am anxiously waiting for book 3. Tess Oliver is one of my favorite authors you can never go wrong with one of her books.

How do you write a review when you had just finished a cliffhanger and now suffer shortness of breath, heart palpitations, anxiousness, fear, chuckles, and find yourself at another cliffhanger? This is a book that has me all twisted up, or is it twisted? This storyline is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. If I were to be one of the characters of this book, who would I choose to be; Angie, Maddox, Kane, or Clark? Is there a way out of the vortex? Will there be an end? Is a HEA even possible?
PSA: This book is NOT a standalone and can NOT be read before reading Captive: Lace Underground #1.

If you thought Captive was intriguing, Obsessed just continues to play with your emotions!!!! Heart pounding moments when you have no idea how it will all play out.

Obsession is the key word. Kane has his obsession to Angie,
Angie to the Nector, Kane, Maddox.
Maddox to Angie and his hatred to Kane.

Angie has lost herself and is struggling with what is happening to her. Kane is the villain we LOVE but hate and Maddox is dealing with regrets and fighting for Angie in every way he can.

That cliffhanger though, literally shouted “What!!! Come on, it can’t end like that!!!!!”

Kane's obsession with Detective Tennyson alias Tawny moves ten levels up the Richter scale, full of need and desire for one and other they soon discover they have a strong bond with or without the "nectar" the relationship was always destined to be complicated he a scientist, she a Street hardened Detective, although Detective Tennyson has been sent undercover their relationship becomes mutually respectful and caring. It appears they are both obsessed with one another. Detective Maddox turns out to be an enigma only realising what he has lost, when all he can think about is Tennyson, he is unwilling to give up and follows her into the underworld where Kane is the maestro, absolutely loved the book, well written and am looking forward to reviewing book three.

I am Obsessed

I am so in love with this series, all I can say is I am obsessed with Lace Underground Trilogy. I have read each book two times already because I had to re read a second time. All I have to say is I love these characters Maddox, Angie aka Ten and Kane. Their is so much chemistry between Angie and both males I am not sure which team I am routing for. Kane may be the evil genius but he is sexy and dangerous and I like him. Maddox is a sexy and he loves Ten since they were kids. Well on to Devoted to see what happens next. Happy Reading!!!

Book #2 was a little less captivating for me, but I still enjoyed it. It's a bit unsettling, because Ten feels like she's forming a connection with Kane, that he has a painful past that has created an extremely sad soul, and even when she starts to be more sober, that connection seems real to her. Even I, as a bystander, can't fully grasp whether Kane has any goodness in him - this is definitely a gray area type of situation. I'm very interested in what happens next, how Ten gets out from Kane's possession, and I hope we see some mental and emotional healing in the next book.

Okay, I’m off to start book 3. (So glad I get to read this series all in the same 'day'.)

This is book 2 in this series of 3. You MUST read them in order to understand and appreciate the story. I HIGHLY recommend this series! You will not be disappointed.

Obsessed!!! Yes I am!!

I am totally obsessed with this trilogy!! These books suck you in and there is no way out cuz you aren't look! Is it wrong that I kinda love Kane?
If you have not read book one, get clicking!! One of the best books of 2019! If you have read book one, why are you reading reviews and not reading book 2????
I'm cutting this review short cuz I NEED to read book 3 NOW!!! Go. Grab. This. Trilogy. You will not be disappointed!!

Despite having more than a few issues with certain things that happen in the story I have to admit to being completely incapable of putting it down. Not sure why as I didn't especially like any of the characters, I guess curiosity about how it would all end got me. The writing is good enough, there's plenty of action (in both senses of the word) and it's short enough to devour in a couple of hours.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a series this is! I received my ARC of Obsessed and I have to say that’s exactly how I felt! I could not put this book down. I had high hopes that Maddox would find a way to rescue his partner. Who will win in this triangle of intrigue: Kane, Angie or Maddox? I will be VERY anxiously waiting for the final book of this trilogy!!!

Okay , so I wanted to write a review for this book because it was amazing but now I don't know what to say without spoiling anything ..
Just , read it.
It's a little dark (or maybe more then a little).
It's a little twisted.
It's mind blowing.
The ending was so sweet but so painful.
And what a cliffhanger !
