How do you go on when the love of your life has moved on without you? It's been years but the attraction is still strong between the two main characters of this book. The author wrote an emotional story of two young people who started a relationship but kept it a secret due to circumstances out of their control. I didn't like that he gave her no time to choose and really how do you choose between her choices? I hated that when she finally returned, he had been in another relationship almost immediately. So much for love! The author then turned the book around and gave me some closure. I found it emotional and rewarding.

DNF - couldn’t make it past their teenage years, this book reads like it was partly written by a teenage boy who thinks describing sex in the most crude terms makes him sound cool and partly by a silly teenage girl who likes to say how “like, hot he is.” The only thing I can ascertain of this “relationship” is that they’ve randomly been best friends for years without anything happening and then one day they decided after looking at each other, decided how hot each other were and wanted to “f*#k”

I’m not a prude, but this was just eye-rolling and tacky. If you want me to invest in two teens, then you have to do better than this. Build up the friendship first, why are they friends, what do they have in common that cemented this? Why should I care about two horny teens who just want to get laid and have nothing to talk about but comments on each other’s sex life? The friendship part seemed forced and unlikely that they suddenly decided to talk dirty to each other one day without the least bit of awkwardness or awareness of how this would affect their friendship or whether it was a good idea. They’re just two random horny teens who found someone hot they want to have sex with. Extremely superficial and zero romance, just cheap sex.

Luckily, I only paid 99 cents for this drivel.

Edit: with nothing else to read, I made it thru about 55% and while improved, it’s not by much. These characters are needlessly crude and shallow and talk like they’re in a bad porno (is that redundant?) There is zero romance or credible relationship other than sex. The male is the worst, he is one of those annoying guys who thinks it’s sexy to reduce sex to mere screwing, which is all it seems to be for him.

This may work for some people, but I found it tedious and ho hum, like they were teens trying to repeat what adults say to sound sexy, but it misses the mark.

Resisting Him by Leslie Johnson

Leslie has done it again. She has written a beautiful, sexy love story that proves that true love stands the test of time, even though they spent years apart. Charolette Hall, aka Charlie, and Marcus Johnson met at boarding school in Australia. They quickly become friends. After graduating, Charlie returns to the States and has lost contact with him, even though he’s always in her heart. Seven years later she returns to find him engaged.
Marcus Johnson, is the son of archeologist Dane Johnson. His love for Charlie never faded but he had to move on. That is, until she returns. Because he was engaged, Charlie wouldn’t act on the connection they have for each other. The engagement suddenly ends allowing them to be together, or does it.
Both Charlie and Marcus have always loved each other. Both tried to move on but you never forget your true love. Circumstances kept them apart but fate brought them back together. Resisting Him is a combination of a friends-to-lovers and second chance romance. Both character have issues they need to work on, but manage to work it out. I really enjoyed Resisting Him and thank Leslie Johnson for an advance copy that was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

So many romances use a lack of communication and trust as the constant catalyst keeping the couple from achieving their HEA. At times, at least for me, this becomes so overwhelming I find myself wishing one of the parties in the couple would disappear or leave for good because i get tired of the BS. Charlie and Marcus are a refreshing change of pace. Life gets in the way, not trust or communication. They each fight for their love in their own ways throughout the story. This story was a refreshing change from the norm and didn’t not fell like a formula plot line. I really enjoyed this author writing. I found it light and easy to read yet emotionally in-depth. The characters are so well developed and not just the main ones. There are supporting characters that are just as life like as the main ones. I highly recommend this book for your one click. This is a new author for me and I look forward to reading more of her work.

There are no words....

The h was a passionless moron, and the H was pouty and possessive but gave up easier that a thin paper bag in the rain...
I want two ppl who want each other and don’t waste my time playing stupid silly games ..
These two never really started before they ended and the h,dear lord she was just a useless waste who didn’t know what she wanted but honestly the H wasn’t any better...
Read the reviews...
This book is a pointless waste and as passionate as I am about reviews,I just can’t be bothered here...
Sadly much like the MC’s ..
The MC’s are brittle dry useless caricatures of real ppl that crumbled to bits of dust before the book barely got any where and at 40% of skimming, where these two passionless almost lovers spent more time sniping than anything else I had to quit...
Off to delete.
My imagination abs the yellow pages could be more fun..
Who knows maybe yours too

I really enjoyed this heartfelt beautiful second chance romance story. It is a page turner that is full of emotions and has a fantastic story-line and moves along at a brisk pace. It is well written, fluid and flows smoothly at a brisk pace. The gripping plot is well-developed and consistent. It is drama-filled, funny, and witty. The twists and turns and ups and downs add to the overall quality and excitement of the story. The love and chemistry between Marcus and Charlotte is deep, strong and sizzling hot. The story ended beautifully, it could not have been better in my opinion. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another amazing story by Leslie Johnson! This story is about Charlie (Charlotte) and Marcus. After graduating from boarding school in Australia they both went their separate ways. Even though each was living their own life and Marcus got engaged, they never forgot the love they shared in boarding school.

When together again old feelings surface, so it must have been true love after 7 years, right? They can finally be together...except Marcus is engaged. Will he end his engagement and be with his one true love?

Great story! Loved the characters and the story!

Resisting Him

I read the second and third books first. Sad to say if I had read this one first the other books would have made sense to me. This book revolves around four people who lived and loved. The book main characters were high school friends who became more by the end of school. But due to her mother marrying his father separated. Now seven years later they meet again. What happens next is the story of one couple. But you go on to read the next three books to finish off the story.

A really well written story with nice story line and plot. Great chemistry and well described characters. A story with nice banter and humour mixed with the steam and passion between two characters. Unexpected twist and turns and an emotional roller coaster. Absolutely captivating and enjoyable.
A second chance romance of a nice length and with the right amount of depth to the story and characters.

Real life romance.

This book didn't have a girl meets boy, boy gets girl plot. This is the type of relationships that occur in real life. They're ugly and messy sometimes. In the end boy does get girl but it wasn't a clean strait line there, but what a ride. They had to work at their relationship. I love myself a good fantasy but every now and then it's refreshing to read a real life, everything isn't perfect romance.

I loved this story. The twists and turns. No matter what life threw at Charlie and Marcus, they did what it took to be together in the end. Happily ever after is the best way to end a book. And it was set in Australia, my bucket list vacation place.

Marcus and Charlotte had it going on, until one day their parents tore their world apart. Loved this forbidden love story. Marcus was sexy hot, both as a graduating student and then seven years later. Charlotte knew what her heart wanted, but would her head follow? This was a sweet, emotional, and steamy read!

A great Aussie themed story!

It was great to read a story set in Australia. The love story between Marcus and Charlotte was sexy, warm and full of drama. I especially enjoyed the extra characters which added another dimension to the book. Some funny moments were added which really lifted the attraction for me. I highly recommend this book!

Charlie and Marcus had a fairytale love. High school sweethearts torn apart by her selfish mother. Seven years later Charlie is back and finds Marcus is engaged to someone else but his feelings for Charlie remain strong. Can they finally have their happily ever after?

Not Bad

They met in boarding school. But her mom and his dad got married so they did work out. She went to the states to be with her dad, who has recently passed away and now she's back as a music teacher at her old school. He is going to be teaching there also.

Call it a modern romance and leave it at that.

This book crosses genres but does deliver a HEA. Young love, step-brother, lost love, even a little Professor\student subplot fill this story. Steamy sexy times.

Great Book!

This book is very suspenseful and curvy. Not once was there a clear pathway to the end and I liked that a lot. Sometimes books can be so obvious that you don't want to read but this one I could not put down.
