An amazing book I would recommend to everyone who wants a bit of mindfulness for every day. I received it as a gift, but bought the audio part on the internet. It is not necessary to buy audio recordings (they're not expensive, few pounds) but they do help you with exercises (meditation for 8 weeks). I still use them regularly. But one can practise on their own :) Anyhow, a great book for everyone. Imagine if everyone did mindfulness... how different would this world be :)
Mindfulness explained in simple plain English without any mystical religious references. I would highly recommend it for anyone who begin to practice mindfulness as way of living. This along with Andy Puddicombe's book is a great place to start for beginners who want to take up mindfulness as lifestyle. Then books from Jon Kabat-Zinn and Eckhart Tolle will make lot of sense.
The biggest problem with mindfulness genre books is that, it is often portrayed as something highly spiritual and profound way of living. That's why general populace gets so skeptical about this practice. However, it is simply a healthy way of keeping your mind .. It is just like an exercise to mind and nothing more. This book exactly explains that without complicating it with any spiritual and religious coating. In short, mindfulness and meditation (through which we practice mindfulness) is not just for monks but for everyone.
One of those books that only people in need read. Sincerely those kind of books are made to be read with the time, as mindfulness is not an easy technique ( pass me the word) to realise or to live with.
Clear and easy to read with good simple to read instructions on how to incorporate more mindfulness into your life, i will refer back to this book often
