Ready for Responsibility

Rate this book
They're growing up faster than you'd ever imagined. Before you know it, high school will be behind them. Will your children be ready for the complex choices and responsibilities that await them as adults? Parenting authority Dr. Bob Barnes believes the time to prepare children for successful public, personal, and private lives is now, while they're at home. How? By giving them a "learners permit" : opportunities to develop the skills, experiences, and characters that will help them become good decision makers, good marriage-partners, and good communicators, employees, and money-managers -- and godly individuals whose Christian faith runs deep. In Ready for Responsibility, Dr. Barnes steers you beyond fearful and passive parenting styles to become a "training parent." Complete with practical questions and exercises, here's how you can give your children one of your greatest gifts as a parent: the means to succeed in life.

Shook at how fast i breezed through this one. Literally so helpful. Some super weird legalistic Christian ideals that seemed kinda outdated (only reason why this isn’t 5 stars) but other than that, loved the content

Parents know children do not come with instructions. All of us were raised under different sets of customs, traditions, and parental skills

This book will go over many things that we may forget over the course of our child rearing times. We as parents need to teach our children so many skills to help them become successful adults in the world that we may forget but reading this book will remind you of what may be of importance. Responsibility, accountability, consideration...and it all starts at home.
