Nathanael Wayfarer, tormented by his ex-wife’s sudden nasty turn in their divorce negotiations, crashes his car while on holiday in the Grand Canyon. With his legs still in external fixators he finds himself being wheeled out of the hospital by a mysterious woman who claims he is being pursued, Natasha Chase, a computer programmer and hacker. Soon they are evading tenacious pursuers using government surveillance to find them and kill them, and fighting a mysterious organisation that combines occult beliefs with the manipulation of DNA and the robbery of ancient human remains. The first book in the Nathanael Wayfarer series will keep you on the edge of your seat in a gut-wrenching journey into the heart of a conspiracy.
I was given a free copy of this book as part of a review group but the opinions expressed are all my own.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It started fast and continued unabated until the end. The plot was compelling with some interesting and unexpected characters.
The plot involved a great deal of computer hacking and surveillance and a lot of technological jargon was detailed, most of which was beyond my understanding. I have to say that it sounded impressive if a little disconcerting, especially when I read the author's notes! It seems that most of the technological details were based on fact.
This was a good read and I look forward to the next episode in Nathaniel Wayfarer's life.
A great novel in the Christian action mystery genre. If you love Dan Brown's Angels and Demons, if you identify with Sheldon and fellow mathematical geeks from The Big Bang Theory, and if Ross Geller is your favourite paleontologist then this novel is definitely for you. There are thrills, spills and conspiracy from start to finish. The author interweaves interesting early human history and biblical research throughout, while simultaneously underpinning the story with a strong Christian world view.
Love this book for so many reasons! If you want something to read that'll make you question everything, then this is the book for you :) Easy to read but hard to keep up with all of the information. Well researched and dabbles into many fields of study. Can't wait for the sequel!
A cracking plot which moves along smoothly and at pace covering topics from IT to religion along the way. It was hard to put down and I didn't want it to end. In fact if the book has a fault, it is that it's too short. I have already purchased the 2nd book in the series.
