OMG! From reading the synopsis, I knew there would be a twist in the book, but Jennifer Rebecca completely pulled the rug out from under me! This book is the best yet in the series!

I don’t want to say too much about the book as I don’t want to ruin the book or the series for anyone who hasn’t had the absolute pleasure of reading the book. In each book, Rebecca continues to develop the characters even more, and she builds upon the relationships between the major characters: Wes, Claire, Lee, Anna, and Emma.

This book really made me love Wes and Claire even more. Claire has made great strides, and she is a different person than she was in the first book. I’m amazed at her strength, and that strength will be tested in ways she never thought possible in this book. Wes is one of the good ones!!!! Wes continues to stand by Claire, and he wants her to find the “peace and beauty” she deserves. Of course, he wants to be the one to give it to her. His patience and love for her is just incredible!!!!

The storyline is the best one yet in the series! The twists are wicked. The book is a romantic suspense, but a great deal of the book is about the relationships between the characters and how they are changing rapidly. Rebecca just continues to amaze me. The main character is Claire, but she has this talent of weaving in the rest of the characters into the plot of the book. She does so seamlessly. In addition, she manages to add humor in such a serious book. I’ve never seen an author who can do that quite as well as she does.

I’m not sure the direction the characters will take after reading the emotional ending, but I know I cannot wait to find out! If you haven’t discovered this great little series, do yourself a favor, and start today!!! You will not be disappointed!!!!

Say a Sweet Prayer is book 3 in the Claire Goodnite series. It can be read as a standalone but you might be lost as far as the relationships between the main characters and Claire’s past if you don’t read the first two books. Book 1 is Tell Me a Story, and Book 2 is Tuck Me in Tight. Trust me… they are worth the read!

Claire and Wes’ world is completely rocked in this story. Claire’s grandmother has signed her and Wes up for premarital counseling, and Claire’s friends, Emma and Anna, up for the singles group at her church… along with Claire’s brother who has created this weird love triangle between him and Claire’s best friends. What they don’t know is… there’s a serial killer targeting the singles in the church. Can the crew solve the case before it’s too late?

You guys know I give honest reviews by now, so I have to admit that, when I first started reading Tell Me a Story (thanks to Nazarea at Inkslinger PR!), I didn’t think I was going to like this series at all. I love a great romantic suspense, but the first couple of chapters left me wondering if I was going to be able to really appreciate Claire Goodnite’s personality and all her quirks, too. Somewhere between chapters three and four, something clicked and yeah… I just kept reading. Before I knew it, I was on to book two then spent all night reading book three (when I really should have been sleeping)! At this point, I think I’ve figured out who the bad man is, so I’m anxiously awaiting the final installment, which is due to be released in October or November of this year. (C’mon fall!)

NICUnurse’s Rating: I’m going to give 2 ratings here. The first rating is for this book. I give this book 4.5 stars. I think, of all three books so far, this is the most emotionally draining. And it really has me wondering… and looking forward to the last book. (C’mon fall!) The second rating I’m giving is for the series as a whole. For that, I give it 4 stars. There are a lot of times I really just wanted to shake Claire for her relationship choices, and I felt like she was moving in circles (emotionally speaking) when I think it would have been a little better of a story to see more moving forward, even if it was just baby steps. Overall, the series has kept me guessing as to who the bad man is, and until book three, I really had no clue. (Guessing who the ultimate bad guy is in romantic suspense is a fun game for me, and I’m always appreciative when an author has me stumped.)

If you love romantic suspense that truly keeps you guessing, a quirky but strong female lead, and a guy who doesn’t give up on the love of his life… no matter what she puts him through… then you will love this series!

Now… C’mon fall!

After reading the first two books in this series, I thought I was prepared for whatever happened but boy, was I wrong.

Wes and Claire are finally in a good place and there's a lot of sweet in this book. They're preparing for their wedding and finding their groove. That's not to say that there isn't plenty of drama still swirling around because of their respective jobs but together, they feel they can weather whatever storms come their way. In the midst of wedding planning, Claire's grandmother signs them up for marriage counseling, which is hilarious to say the least. Ever the meddling grandma, she also signs Claire's two best friends and her brother up for the church singles group! Ha! This woman has running other people's lives down to an art. But in this case, what you don't know CAN hurt you, or those you love. What she didn't know was Lee (Claire's brother) is at the center of a love triangle with the girls and it's already tearing them apart. What she doesn't know is that there is a killer lurking and she might've unwittingly put one of these people directly in their crosshairs.

This book was such a roller coaster for me. I genuinely love all these characters and they've come to feel like part of my extended friends. Watching them hurt, hurts me. I thoroughly enjoyed the book but I can't lie and say I'm not a little drained from the emotional upheaval. This book was definitely the heaviest for me so I appreciated the humor and love the author injected throughout as a respite. Great read and I can't wait to read the next installment.

Say a Sweet Prayer is the third book in the Claire Goodnite series. It's the first one that I have read so far. But for the most part it held up fairly well as a stand alone. Claire is a police detective who seems to have the dumb luck for caching serial killer cases. A new one is in town and people are showing up dead with a letter carved into their chests. Claire and Wes must catch the killer before they can get on with their HEA.

I enjoyed the mystery part of the story. I was definitely kept guessing. The POV from the killer was pretty creepy. I also really liked Claire's character. She was a good detective and one I would enjoy reading more about. While I did like Wes, I didn't like his not accepting Claire's profession. He asks her to chose between her job and him at one point. I thought that was incredibly selfish given she was a cop when they started their romance. I do wish that I had read the first two books in the series before this one because there were a few things that I felt like I was missing out on. One thing being the love triangle between Lee, Anna and Emma. That whole story-line was pretty depressing. I also want to go back and read how Wes and Claire ended up together. I look forward to reading the next Claire Goodnite book

Okay have to say I am anxious in Claire and Wes wedding just waiting. I love that no matter what has happened Wes is always there for Claire. Traumatic as her past was it just won't leave her alone. Together they must find a way to move on but there is something still pulling Claire back. I love that Jennifer Rebecca keeps us still into it after 3 books and let me tell you Wes and Claire just get hotter than ever.

I cannot convey how much I adore this series! It's a roller coaster I don't mind riding. I was a little annoyed with errors, but the plot is so good that I chose to overlook it.

Good but predictable

I had it figured out pretty quickly. It's a good plot & sad. Not an end I would have picked for a situation but somewhat necessary.

Say A Sweet Prayer is the third book in the Claire Goodnite series but can relatively be read as a standalone for the murder mystery aspect. Claire and Wes are finally getting married after a fraught start in the romance department. Wedding preparations however have to be put on hold when a series of murder comes too close to home for these two. In the midst of all these as well, Claire has started dreaming about her own traumatic past and its putting a lot of pressure on her. As the clock ticks on solving the murders, Claire must come to realize she needs to resolve of her own issues to be able to move on.

Although a standalone, Say A Sweet Prayer should be read after the first two books in the series since most of the main story line is really about Claire's past and her relationship with Wes. There is a lot of character progression and knowing Claire from the very beginning gives a reader an edge to her personality. The romance aspect is definitely sweet and steamy but the mystery suspense plot line is definitely worth the read since it will keep you guessing with its well executed plot. Say A Sweet Prayer is a great ending to this series as a whole.

Well this one had a lot of feels in it. Some happy, some sad, some great times, some funny and then devastating. I might have been surprised a bit by the killer for a minute, I was not surprised by the ending. Although my hubby checked on me several times when I was blubbering crying. IYKYK.
I like how Claire’s character is growing in each book. I’ll almost be sad to see the series end with the next book.
I like Jennifer’s writing and ability to make me care for these characters quickly and become involved.

A big difference.

I love Claire and Wes. This is the 3rd book in the series and it does have a great story. However the editing on this book is rough. There are a lot of noticeable typos\errors, that if corrected would help readers stay in the story. The sex scenes are much more graphic and almost feel gratuitous. I never mind a hot sex scene but this time it didn't seem as much a part of the storyline more like filler. I did like the story and will continue with the series.

This is the third book in the Claire Goodnight Series – Tell Me A Story ( Read My Review) & Tuck Me In Tight ( Read My Review).

And you have to read the first two books reviews for you will understand why I didn’t like Wes and Claire – and honestly they weren’t a whole lot better, though the drama was honestly tamped down a bit; not a whole lot, but a bit in the book. Still their relationship wasn’t why I continued with series & I didn’t care for their HEA even in this one.

What I did like was the mystery (same in the first two books) and why I still have a continued interest in the series – the mystery was well handled and had me interested in the plot; despite my disinterest in the characters themselves.

The writing of the author held promise; but I really hope that she does tamp down with the way she handles her characters and their drama; which could go honestly over the top.

I don’t know if I would actually read any books from the author in the future though, even if I did keep an open mind during this series.
