This is such a wonderful little devotional! Each and every one is uplifting and drew me closer to God.

Each day starts with a Scripture to meditate on and then a wonderful devotion or a prayer. These devotions are taken from Mr. Lucado's books and each and every one is inspiring and points to the fact that the Lord is truly with us. They are especially encouraging and would be a great way to start off your day.

I really like the quality of the paper in this book and how nice it's put together. It just makes the book that much more enjoyable. Another nice thing is the topical index in the back where you can look up a subject that you might need encouragement on and find the devotion for that topic. There is also a Scripture index which lists each Scripture used in this book.

I really like this devotion and it would be a great way to start off he new year! I highly recommend his book and give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Content:

All the content is geared toward Christian beliefs and stories that reflect them. I can only recall one story that might trigger some people about a child that was killed in Bosnia.

This was a nice daily devotional read for me. It's set up in short daily segments where the author titles the day with a thought like "Trust God's Story" then gives a scripture reference, then writes no more than 5 short paragraphs of thought surrounding the scripture and the message he takes from it.

I enjoyed most of the book, but since this is a book where the author is deriving his own lessons and meanings form multiple translations of the Bible, there of course were parts that I didn't agree with or felt were misinterpreted with what I myself have learned in studying the Bible and listening to my own Church leaders.

Regardless of that though, the intent is one to bring the reader to a better relationship to Christ, and that I cannot fault whatsoever! This book had many gems, and I highlighted so much as I read. It gave me some insights that truly helped my perspective of my personal relationship with God and Christ. I appreciated the time and effort this book must have taken for the author to put together.

Some of the gems I loved:

"...if God permits the challenge, he will provide the grace to meet it."

"Choose to trust God's promises. Choose to believe that God is up to something good even though all you see looks bad. Choose to believe because God is faithful."

"God sees our life from beginning to end. He may lead us through a storm at age thirty so we can endure a hurricane at age sixty."

Welcome to my review for God is with you every day by Max Lucado a 365 day devotional. This is his newest book and its so nice its hardbound and has an attached bookmark in it which I love . Naturally I have not finished it yet its something you read at the start of the year and you read one a day.

From what I have read I have fallen in love with this devotional its easy to do each day no matter how busy you are in the morning and it just takes a few minutes of time for each days reading.

This book would make for a really lovely gift and I was so happy I got a chance to review it. It has a lovely cover , is very finely bound to last a lifetime and the right size for a devotional.

As you can see from the cover photo its just so pretty and if I would have received it for a gift I would be very happy with the person who gave it to me.

I love devotionals especially from great writers Like Max Lucado. The first few days I read It knew it was going to be a wonderful companion for the rest of the year I hope you give it a try.
I received a free copy in order to make an informed review but my opinions are my own thanks for looking

I read this book throughout the year as it is intended to be read. I always find how amazing it is when reading books like this how many entries line up perfectly to what is going on in my life. I enjoyed this book, no doubt, it really helped me get through some harsh times (2020 is not a year I will look back for fond memories, but it wasn't my worst year).

I would recommend this book for any believer who would just like to have something to read at the end of each day to give themselves a little bit of hope, remind yourself of what really matters in life, and to help you through difficult times. Even if it's not something you would read every day, I challenge you to just open randomly to any page and see if that just helps you out for that day.

May 2021 be a better year and may I find more books to peak my interest next year.

The Best of Max Lucado

I got this for my Kindle, not that that is a big deal, but I tend to enjoy books more when they are ink on paper. Old school I guess.
This made me think of buying music record albums or CDs. Some of the songs on the album were great, others okay and still others were so so. Does that make this a bad book? Not at all. But being a compelation from other Max books, I think that is a hard thing to do and do it well where everything meshes together cohesively.

This is a great devotional book. I'd really give it 4.5 stars though. My quirk with it is that the 7th day of each week is a prayer. This is great if you're reading through on a year that lines up when it was written, otherwise you end up with the prayer day on some other day, like Tuesday. It's not a huge deal! Just a quirk for someone like me. I enjoyed the devotions daily and that it quotes which of Max Lucado's books the exert is from.

Realization: I read this with my kids (10,12,13). We skipped the not kid-friendly and theologically questionable entries. Some days we read two. Somedays we skipped. We got through it in 10 months.
I've found these books work much better for us when I don't feel obligated to read every entry or even the correct date. Turns out there aren't actually rules 😆

Also: you get to use your own discernment. Even if the author is renowned.

Max Lucado is one of my favorite authors/teachers and I really like that this devotional book contains excerpts from some of his other books. Each day includes a scripture and a short reading or prayer which can be completed even on busy days. Lots of truth and encouragement packed in this book and I will keep it to read again another year.

Really good daily devotional book

I love that even tho the daily devotional were packed with deep.spiritual truths, they were short enough to easily do them each day. They gave me something to think and pray about throughout the day. Once again, Max Lucado's down to earth humble heart drew me in with truth I could relate to.

Audiobook Review

This has been a super journey. Each day’s voice note was inspiring, uplifting and sometimes challenging.

There was just one thing about this book that saddened me. Not enough to hate it, but it did disappoint me. The day the voice note said yoga was ok.

Otherwise, it was a good journey!
Thank you to the narrator too!

I really enjoyed this devotional. The daily readings were short but often impactful and reminded me of why I love Max Lucado's writing style. These particular topics were very timely for me and I ended up buying two of the books that some of the devotions were excerpted from because they were often the ones I enjoyed the most.

I unfortunately did not read this book all the way through. However, I did read it on and off here and there every month. It held pretty good insights for the days I did read. I may even read it again next year all the way through sometime
