Violet is wild. She growls at the dog, draws on the walls, and slurps her cereal straight from the bowl. Violet's Gran takes her to the zoo for a relaxing trip but, after a mix-up, Violet spends the night with the monkeys and a monkey goes back with Gran. Worse still, Gran and Violet's parents don't even notice! Will there be chaos or will a lesson be learnt?
Alex Latimer lives near the border of a national park so when not writing or drawing, he spends his free time shooing baboons out of his lounge. The Boy Who Cried Ninja is his first book for children. He lives in South Africa.
A hilarious story about a girl who is incredibly wild, she’s driving her parents crazy and they just want a nap. Her Granny gives them a break and takes her to the zoo, where she meets all the wild animals and swaps places with a monkey.
This was so so funny, the illustrations were amazing and seeing all the things that Violet was doing oh my goodness she was hilarious. I loved that she was literally no different to a monkey and all her actions followed what a monkey was doing. I also found it so funny when nobody not her Gran, not either of her parents noticed they had a monkey.
This is a great fun book for young ones to read it’s very entertaining with both the story and the illustrations. There so much going on within each page and it’s also has a bit of a lesson thrown in about cleanliness and when it’s okay to wildly play and go crazy.
