I've never been anyone's first choice, last choice, or anything in between. I'm also used to failing, being forgotten and I was unapologetically clumsy and
Broken. Dissatisfied. Lost
All it took was spilled rum and pineapple juice, twenty seconds of courage, for Sam to take my breath away.
Question is: Will he remember me?

This is a prequel to the “Serendipity Series” and is Jaime’s story, providing the reader with a better understanding of her mindset and decisions at the start of the series. Unfortunately, Jaime is a “glass half empty” type of person who expects bad results and waits for them to happen to her rather than do something to change it. It makes the caring readers want to reach in and give her a shake and some strong advice. But it also helps the reader to kind of understand where she is coming from and why she does what she does.
The focus of the prequel is on Jaime’s feelings for Sam. He’s an older man and she thinks he’s “The One” for her. But she is afraid to make a move on him or let him know she’s interested. The reader will learn how they met and how things proceeded – or not -- from there. Will Jaime begin to mature through this experience and take charge of her life? Or will she let life just happen to her and risk losing what is important to her?
The prequel will be preparing the reader for the direction the series will travel. It will enable the reader to see her character and vulnerabilities, and to care what happens to her. It promises to be enlightening and emotional. Get to know the characters here to get full enjoyment from the rest of the story.
ENTERTAINING, insightful, and humorous! If only I could award five stars! But this AMAZING prequel is too short in length for that fifth star. However, what it lacks in length it makes up for in characterization! For those who have not yet had the pleasure and privilege to read TWELVE, this prequel does an excellent job of introducing the reader to Jamie! The absurdly smart but socially challenged heroine of the Serendipity Series. Jamie captured the heart of this reader, but even after reading the first two books in the series there was still a part of her I just didn't get. Thanks to author ROBIN EDWARDS for offering an ARC copy of "BEFORE TWELVE" with which I was able to prepare this honest and voluntary review. Also thanks for the entertaining background story on Jamie. It explained so much! Readers, get your copy of "BEFORE TWELVE" today. Happy pages! 😉
A snapshot into the mind of the main female character prior to commencing the three part book series. We are provided with a boggling amount of commotion that is going on inside her mind. We find out about her dating history and what she thinks of herself in this context. She lacks self-confidence and has a poor self-image. She has a defeatist attitude toward life. Yet, she is a singer in a band which requires strength and confidence. She also is intensely involved in martial arts. We see a picture of a woman who shows potential in valuing herself. She hears about and then sees the main male character and becomes fascinated by him.
The stage has been set so all we need to do is spring forward into book one and find out what happens with these two.
This is a great prequel to the Serendipity Series. It shows great insight into the workings of Jamie's mind and what she is going through prior to and upon meeting Sam. She studies martial arts. She has had some bad relationships and is looking for something very different this time. She has no luck unless it's bad and she expects it, so she is always waiting for the other shoe to drop. But instead of the shoe dropping, it is her pineapple and rum, all over the front of Sam's shirt! Mortifying! What happens next is for us to find out. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series! I received this book as an ARC from the author for an honest review.
I am voluntarily leaving a review for “Before Twelve: Jamie’s Story”. This was a really hard book to get through. Although the main character is an adult I felt as if I was in a child’s mind. In my opinion there was too much back and forth of her thoughts which had me practically screaming at her to grow up and stop spending her time thinking about men and how to get over them. I did like her best friend and looked forward to when the main character would have a conversation with her or mention her. The overall story was okay but it could do with a little more substance and a little less obsessiveness.
A delicious taste of what is coming This prequel to the Serendipity series gives some well-deserved background on Jamie. It gives insight into her strengths as well as her vulnerabilities. She is a woman who unwittingly is seeking "The One" man meant for her. Sam is the one who has caught her focus, but she is too afraid to really get to know him. It will be fun to see how she will manage to overcome her reluctance and fears. The story ends with me wanting more! I highly recommend this for getting into the series. I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review.
I am a fairly new reader to Robin Edwards and I am definitely impressed and going to devour this series. Jamie has craptastic luck in the men department, however, after hearing about Sam at her new martial arts school, finally laying her eyes on him didn't prepare her for the real thing.
I can't wait to see what will happen next. I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of Before Twelve in exchange for my honest opinion and I highly recommend reading this book as well as the next and the next. Addictive beginning.
This prequel to the Serendipity series is an introduction to the character of Jamie. I have so many different feelings about this short read. At times, it was confusing--something I think better editing might have helped. Jamie also is a character that I liked at times, hated at others, and other times just confused by. Hopefully as the series evolves, she will become stronger as I think that is what I dislike right now the most is her lack of self-confidence. I do look forward to reading more from the series.
4 stars I received a free copy of the short work Before Twelve Serendipity Series: Book 0.5 the prequel: A Second Chance, Billionaire Romance By Robin Edwards and this review was given freely. A short dissertation on martial arts enthusiast and weekend band member Jamie's two failed romances and her unfortunate first meeting with the elusive dojo member Sam. While it gave mention of multiple characters, there was no real romance or complete story but the title is promising for the series. .
i read this story as part of an arc program. This is a prequel to the Serendipity Series and gives a little insight into Jamie's character. Jamie was lost ans trying to find herself in this story. She thinks things are going to get better for her and she tries to change things she doesn't like. This short story explains how she first saw Sam and the impact he had on her. This was a good introduction to Jamie and helps understand her better.
This is the perfect prequel as it so let’s you know what is coming up in the book to follow. This sets up the deliciousness of the main story and makes you pant waiting for more. This book gives you some great insight into Jamie and her strengths and vulnerability. She like most is seeking the one but not actively and she ends up meeting Sam but is to afraid to take the next step. What will she do?

I am voluntarily leaving a review for Before Twelve: Jaime's Story. I read this book which is one part of a prequel to Twelve Miles. It was a great way to learn more about the main character, Jaime, her past experiences, and the thoughts and motivations behind her actions. I also read Before Twelve: Sam's Story, and then went on to read book 1 in the series (Twelve Miles) and I definitely recommend reading the prequel first. You'll understand Jaime better if you do!
I am voluntarily leaving a review for Before Twelve: Jamie’s Story. This is the first of two prequels to the Twelve Mile series. This prequel is about Jamie and the other is about Sam. Read Jamie’s first. These two people become the main characters in the series. This is an interesting way to initiate character development and storyline. Jamie is very insecure and horrendous with relationships. I found this to be an interesting and good read.
The Prequel To The Serendipity Series Gives Us The Background of Jamie The prequel to the Serendipity Series so please know that it ends with a cliffhanger. This book mainly introduces us to the personality and mindset of Jamie. She's immature, in my opinion. The prequel is short, around 50 pages and easy to read. Not sure why there was a need for this prequel as it could have just been added to the first book as a chapter.
Getting inside Jamie's head and finding out how she ticks. Jamie is a strong, powerful woman and she has been through enough in her life to know when she meets Sam; he will be hers. Her favorite gym closes and she has to find another. She also finds Sam, the man she belongs with. Now she has to convince herself and Sam that this is what's going to happen.
This is the prequel to Jamies story and it was great getting to know her. It told about her life and what she wanted to do in her future. After reading this story I can’t wait for the next book to see where she goes!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
she was never picked as she seemed to be unseen all the time no matter what. then her drink is spiked and it gives her the courage to Sam who took her breath away. will he remember her? will she have another chance? see is he does

"I am voluntarily leaving a review for Robin Edwards's, Before Twelve: Jamie's Story
This was a fast read as it is a prequel. It went in depth about Jamie's life. You got a real good sense as to who she was as a person. The confusion of losing someone you thought you loved to dating all the wrong guys and then finally love at first sight. I recommend this book and the series.
When I started reading this story, I couldn't put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer.I cannot wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.

I'm trying not to... Hmmm... Ok, I can't really review the book without giving away spoilers because it's that short, but I'll try. Ummm, this prequel is truly an introduction to the character's MINDFRAME. The author did not lie about that--extra star for warning me--so if you love reading what someone's thinking, this is the prequel for you.
I am voluntarily leaving a review for Before Twelve : Jamies's story. This is a quick read. It gives you insight into Jamie's mind and how she views herself. She do howevere come across as young and actually naive where it comes to relationships. Maybe you'd have to read the further books to see how her character develops.
I enjoyed this prequel of Jamie’s story. It gives me an insight into her life and what she wants for her future. I’m looking forward to reading the series with more understanding. I reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just couldn't get enough of it and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I recommend that you read it.
I really enjoyed this one, a great taste of what’s to come. Well, she is a lass who always expects the worst, a real pessimist on fact! He, well, love his character, he sounds a keeper for sure, so, will she?..or won’t she........?!
A very short prequel to the Serendipity series. I liked the storyline and plot. The characters are well described. It is a promise of what the series will bring. A great introduction of the characters and their personalities.
Before Twelve : Jamie’s Story by Robin Edwards. This is one of two prequels to a series. They were written so we could get to know the characters better before the series. Jamie’s character seems pretty normal. But her story got a little tiring.
"I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book via Booksprout." This is a brilliant start to whats bound to be an epic story! Can't wait to dig into the rest!
