Another great collaboration between ChaShiree and MK. Even though it was a fast read, the pacing on it was perfect for me. Dex pissed me off and Carrie made me cry. I don't. I felt her heartache. Sweet story of second chances and surprises.

This is a novella, so I was already at a disadvantage having not read the first book in the series. Obviously, things move very quickly. The hero has major issues related to trauma his family suffered when he was a child. He (siblings included) needed professional help to get past them, but instead relies on his older brother as a sounding board. Though helpful, professional help would have been more beneficial. I needed more and if this story was longer I would rate it higher. Loved some of the dirty talk, but I especially love, love, love the book cover.

Really loved this one, which was a relief after the last couple of books I tried from this author flopped for me. This one was sooooo much better. There were still some grammar issues, but they were minor and didn’t detract from the overall reading experience or the story itself. The story continuity was also good, with only a few hiccups (for example, the story of her family’s wealth and how she managed to still live with her parents and yet find a home in moosehead. How? It’s never explained.)
The heroes push/pull is explained very well and it was gut-wrenching, his pain and fear holding him back from what he wanted and needed in Carrie.
I loved the heroine, she wasn’t obnoxious, trashy, catty or nasty. And I also loved the fact she was mixed. As an Afro-Latina mix, it was great to see a heroine who has little melanin represented—and she’s also a GOOD GIRL! *fist pump*
Heroes past Isn’t mentioned, but he’s been celibate since he was with heroine. Heroine has only been with hero and was also faithful during separation. There is no love scene of their first time, sadly. No cheating or abuse of any kind. No ow drama in this book, and only slight om Drama, used to get the hero in line since he was being an obstinate a$$ and nothing happens between them. HEA with no epilogue

Inked by him is book two in the Queen of hearts ink series. This story is short, fast paced and a nice read. This book is Carrie Ann and Dexter’s story. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I liked Carrie Ann but I wasn’t a massive fan of Dexter. I understood why he was the way he was but his actions irritated me. He didn’t want a relationship with Carrie Ann because he couldn’t trust her/figure her out, yet he was possessive and didn’t want anyone else to have her.
I did see some chemistry between Dexter and Carrie Ann but I would have liked a little more. I wish this book was a little longer because I wanted more scenes of Dexter and Carrie Ann in their relationship.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and a nice read. I cannot wait for more from this series. I want Mile’s story now!

This is a fast read about Carrie and Dex. Dex can’t believe it, when he walks into work and sees the “one” he’s been thinking about, since their one night together. Imagine his surprise when he finds out he has a son. Dex doesn’t think he will ever be ready to have a relationship after what him and his siblings lived through with their parents. Can he ever get his head out of his ass or will he end up watching Carrie be with someone else? No spoilers, but I will say you will love this steamy new addition to the series. We also learn who Miles has been seeing.

Carrie Ann and Dex pull you in from the beginning. Amazing short emotional read with all the feels.
Dex fell hard and fast with Carrie Ann from the first and so did she. But she ran not knowing anything about him and he didn't know anything about and they both looked for each other but found nothing till they meet back. With everything from finding he has a son to not being able to get his head on straight will they be able to overcome all that's holding him back or will everything be too much?
Loved this book all the emotional push and pull from both Dex and Carrie. It's a short read that packs a whole lot of punch and heat

Misunderstanding and Lost time
Dex and Carrie are a sweet couple. So glad they get their HEA with their precious little DJ. Loved the story line and can’t wait to read about Miles and Jacquie.
The o key issue I have is Sex’s hang up. It didn’t really make a lot of sense to me; it wasn’t very clear as far as Carrie being confusing to him. 🤨
Overall great story though. Love the characters.

Loving this series by Chashiree & M.K. … you passion falls right on the pages and I love it …. I have bonds with all the characters and I love it .. You leave me wanting more every time and I hate/Love it!!! Cindy and Dex all I can say is WOW !!! CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK....PLEASE HURRY !!!

I knew one of the brother's was her baby father, didn't figure it was Mr. Intense. Dec was so intense it took a lot to make him smile or get a reaction out of him. Carrie sure kept him in his toes, although he was a big ole softie when it came to his family, especially his son.

I've been waiting for Carrie and DJ's story since reading his sister, Kitty's story with her man, El and her struggles... well, you'll have to go her story to find out what I'm talking about ;) Kitty & El's story is the first of this new spinoff series of the Moose-head series and it's called, "Inked Heart".
This family has had a lot of tragedy that revolves around their parents and the way they loved each other and then died (you'll understand once you read this and Kitty's book) and it has affected how they look at life and relationships. Kitty had the same problems as DJ does here and it wasn't until she almost lost El, that she realized it was time to stop living in the past and move forward to the future, with the love of her life and their upcoming baby girl. We also get to see glimpses of these them in this novella and how happy they are and with how protective El is of their baby girl <3 It will definitely melt your heart when you read those scenes <3
Now, DJ, like I said before has the same demons as Kitty, in fact everyone in their family do and when he reunites with Carrie after two years of not knowing where to find her and vice versa, he finds out he has a son with her and the adorable little guy has the same eyes as his and his name, so of course, DJ is mixed with various emotions that causes him to push Carrie away for three months (even though she was still waiting for him) after meeting again.
Carrie, I loved her character :) I understood her hesitation to the rush of feelings she felt for DJ that one night she spent in his arms and that made her run away. When she found out she was pregnant, she couldn't locate him since she didn't know his full name and last name so she decided she would be a single mom. Imagine her shock when she comes face to face with DJ at her new job, at Queen of Hearts Tattoos. Sparks fly and so do the questions, frustration and miscommunication, mostly coming from DJ. But Carrie knew what she wanted and she was determined to make DJ realize that they were meant to be and after finding out the reasons why DJ is so reluctant to be with her, she's very resolved in her decision to make him claim her and realize that he's nothing like his parents and she did just that :)
I also loved their chemistry when they were apart but I absolutely loved it when they were together, it was HOT AS HELL!! ;)
We also get glimpses of the oldest brother of DJ and Kitty (technically he's like the father figure since he raised them since they were all very young) and I liked how he gave great advice to DJ when he needed it after putting his foot in his mouth and didn't express his thoughts/feelings correctly to Carrie. There were several times I wanted to nut-punch DJ but at least he redeemed himself in his earlier behavior.
Also, I've always been intrigued by Miles and I'm happy he met someone who had demons like him and they both healed one another <3 Yet, you wouldn't never guess who it is, but I won't spoil it for you guys, so go read this novella, you definitely won't regret it at all ;)
Hopefully, we get more stories from this series and even though this was a short novella, I loved every single moment of reading Carrie and Dj's journey to their awesome happily ever after <3

OMG this story rocked!! I have been waiting for Carrie and DJ's story since reading his sister, Kitty's story in "Inked Heart". This family has had a lot of tragedy that revolved around their parents and how they lived and then died. It has affected their whole lives and how they lived and even affected relationships that they have had. DJ had the same demons that plagued his sister and he ends up being reunited with Carrie after 2 years of each other not knowing where to find the other one after a one night stand. DJ finds out he has a son with Carrie and that sets him off because he feels robbed of that time he missed out and so he pushes Carrie away, not really thinking about how Carrie was still carrying a torch for him after all this time. Carrie is a good person- she recognizes the pain he is in and sees the hurt but she too is hurt yet she the reasons why she ran off after their beautiful and awesome one night together. She didn’t know how to locate him, she didn’t know his full name and didn’t have anything on which to use to find him with. She was in total shock when she walked into work after traveling and found herself stunned when she comes face to face with him. There is still a huge spark between him, even though there is miscommunication, misunderstanding and some past hurts. Carrie still loves DJ and wants to prove to him she is faithful and is not going anywhere. But for how long can she continue to prove she is faithful and a good person when DJ keeps punishing her for something out of her control? There are twists and turns, ups and downs in their relationship that had me super psyched on how this story would turn out. I loved the sparks between the main characters, the connection that they have and the heat that they generated when together. The ending was beautiful and I cant wait to read more stories set in this world.

I was given a copy to read in exchange for an honest review. Dex and Carrie, my too favorite characters, thus far, from Moosehead, Minnesota spinoff series, Inked Hearts! Dex and Carrie met 2 years ago while Dex was working giving college kids tattoos at a frat party in New York. They share an earth-shattering night were Carrie gives her innocence to Dex. Not truly trusting what she’s feeling and terrified by those feelings, Carrie bolts before Dex wakes. Fast-forward two years and both of them are still effected by that night, even staying true to one another. Carrie takes a job at Queen of Hearts tattoos unbeknownst to Dex who was in Chicago supervising the construction of the first franchise of the tattoo shop. When Carrie returns from a training in Chicago, she brings her son, DJ, in the shop so she can meet the oldest Heart sibling, Miles. Dex walks in and knows immediately that he has found the woman who stole a piece of his soul after just one night. He soon realizes that DJ has his eyes and he and Carrie have so much to talk about. Struggling with demons from his past, Dex must decide if he can trust Carrie enough to be more than just DJ’s dad.
The two authors are growing so much and the stories are reflecting this. I read this book in one setting, I couldn’t put it down. I wasn’t sure I was going to like the Moosehead series or this spinoff, but I can truly say I love them and so glad I continued reading! Definitely recommend not only this book, but the entire series😁

ChaShiree amd M. K. have done it again with their Queen of Hearts series! I have been waiting for Carrie's story for a while now and it was so good!!
Carrie and Dexter met about 2 years ago and had a very passionate night, but Carrie got scared and bolted. Dexter has his own personal demons to get through. After being hired by his tattoo shop they meet at a family get together. Sparks still fly, but Dex is still conflicted.
I absolutely loved their story as Dex trys to understand his feelings and how to manage them. (Unbelievable story there) I loved Carrie she knew what she wanted and went for it! This is the 2nd book in the Queen of Hearts Ink Series. This is a spinoff of the Moosehead Minnesota Series! It can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading the other Moosehead books to understand this story better.
The saga continues! The highly anticipated story between Dex and Carrie. I was waiting to find out the crazy story behind these two and it did not disappoint. From one night stand to forever more, the road to get there was rocky but I absolutely loved it!
Can Dex let go of his past in order to find his future? Will Carrie rescue Dex from himself?

But she ran not knowing anything about him and he didn't know anything about and they both looked for each other but found nothing till they meet back. Have I mentioned how much I love it when these two authors collaborate? No? Well, I do. Their writing flows so well together.
This is book two in the Queen of Hearts Ink series. I liked the first one, but I loved this one!
I understood Dex went through some things in his past that helped shape him into the way he was, but I wanted to strangle him a few times. So I was extremely happy when he pulled his head out of his butt and went after what was his.
Carrie made me cry. She had my emotions all over the place.
This was a short, sweet read with some minor angst thrown in. Trust me, you won't want to put it down!

Carrie Ann and Dex pull you in from the beginning. Amazing short emotional read with all the feels.

This is a fast read about Carrie and Dex. Dex can’t believe it, when he walks into work and sees the “one” he’s been thinking about, since their one night together. Imagine his surprise when he finds out he has a son. Dex doesn’t think he will ever be ready to have a relationship after what him and his siblings lived through with their parents. Can he ever get his head out of his ass or will he end up watching Carrie be with someone else? No spoilers, but I will say you will love this steamy new addition to the series. We also learn who Miles has been seeing.
