Errant Series #2

Errant Conflict

Rate this book
Leaving the planet Fleece far behind them, the Aurora and her mixed crew have two missions. The first is to return the human research vessel Geoffrey Laird back to Earth safe and unharmed. Afterwords the second task is to return to Quetanae space and search for any pockets of survivors from Kodo and Kalaya's home world.

Sounds simple enough!

But of course unknown sinister forces are gathering. The Mexxak Emperor is still demanding that Terra be reduced to a smoldering charcoal briquette. The wolves on the ship are getting smarter. Laree has to come to terms with 250,000,000 freeloading nanites intent on giving her a full body makeover of epic proportions. To top it all off Kalaya is hearing wedding bells!

Can Kodo recover from his (ahem) new condition and Kalaya's undivided attentions long enough to keep the Aurora on an even keel? Will Kalaya go all in to save the human race from a sooty end? What was in that mysterious thousand year old letter from Kalaya's Mother?

Read on to find the answers and more... Not to mention space pirates, cosmic elves, comely secret agents, more game shows and quite possibly a hamster or two...

This is a light science fiction novel, if you are looking for discussions of quantum theory; then this is not the book for you. This is also the second and last book in this series, so if you haven't read Errant Contact before you may wish to start there!

4.5 stars . . . What an exciting ride! I so wish this was not the final book. I really enjoyed the growth of all the MC's and the answers to most of the questions from the first book. The author did a wonderful job of keeping me interested in the story and wanting to know more. The aliens (even the bad ones) are fun and unique, the giant wolves with natural metal armored fur are the perfect pets for our nanite infused nerdy scientist turned warrior and the magic weilding dryads (excuse me, Dria) round out the new crew nicely. There is plenty of action, characters to both love and hate and enough advanced tech to make any space opera loving fan happy. Highly recommend both Errant Contact and this sequel Errant Conflict.

Another great book

I've read through tm the series of mind Forged and the first book to this sci-fi novel and each book gets better and better. The second book to this series really gives the characters more depth and creates a family of misfits in their own way. The author is able to paint a picture of technology that you understand but gives you an awestruck feeling. From the first page you pick up where you left off and towards the end you feel apart of the crew. I would strongly recommend this book if your looking for some adventure and laughter.
